I have to admit I'm guilty of buying it. I've been watching to see how far Loeb will go as he damages the Marvel universe with his tripe. If your going to gripe about someone's flaws you need ammunition and evidence. Every issue proves to me that he has contempt for the classic Marvel characters. That coupled with his weak storytelling ability translates to a furthur indictment of Joe Q.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
when I just come to know the Marvel Universe I knew only about the Avengers Heroes and the famous Spider-Man, Hulk etc. don't know why the x-Men were not famous in my country back in the 70's, not sure how popular they were back them but they don't look like the greatest heroes.
I always see the X-Men as the Teen Titans of Marvel.
so when I see the X-Men in EVERY major event in Marvel I did not like it.
The last time I see the Universe without the X-Men as main characters were in Civil War. See Civil War with the ones I conside famous and be heroes was great (Hulk in the begining, Cap, Avengers, Spider-Man etc).
BUT in the end of Civil War the classic Marvel Universe die forever with the dead of Captain America.
I'm happy that the Avengers are famous again, but I just don't like how the Marvel Universe looks now eighter.
Of course, I may take a look if something cool happen. Secret Invasion was not great.
I guess I'm in the minority. I'm digging the Marvel U much more than the DCU right now. Of course, I'm an Avengers fan, so I don't mind my heroes getting some of the X-men style love right now. I enjoyed Civil War and Secret Invasion. Iron Man is my favorite superhero so I loved Tony's rise to power, just as I'm enjoying his fall from grace.
There is too much Wolvie, of course, but that hasn't changed much in the past 20 years when Wolvie would guest star all over the place to improve a sagging book's sales. He's in some ways more popular than Spider-man now.
And I still miss Cap. I would have thought Steve would be back by now, but I'm enjoying Bucky Cap's exploits, so that takes some of the sting out of it.
DC lost me with Final Crisis. I'm down to Titans and Secret Six now. Blackest Night looks good though. I've been getting the GL trades so this should be an excellent culmination of that epic.
Final Crisis was HORRIBLE worst thing I see ever so far. Blackest Nightis looking GREAT.
Considering the current, just released today issue of Ultimate Spider-Man is the final issue, I guess you're down another Marvel book.
that was the book for the not married Spider-Man fans. Now that Joe Q did the path with the devil and the 616 Spider-Man is not married that book must look meaningless in HIS view.
The right thing to do would had been keep Untimates Spider-Man single and keep the 616 Spider-Man without all the mess since Civil War.
they are pet avengers, not animal avengers... and i'll be honest, if it was a normal series... i would pick it up regularly... Ms Lions cracks me up... i'm liking the Dark Avengers, but i <3 Moonstone... and the Deadpool books, the normal series and the limited Suicide Kings...Exiles and Dark Tower is about all i pick up =/ the rest just...don't interest me :S so many different avenger books to choose from, plus i tend to find it hard to just jump into a series at issue 100 or whatever =/ also they are starting a new X-men series this month as well, X-Men forever or whatever :S way too many X-men books...
I don't want to hear about the story. I want to hear about why the story. And I want to hear it from you.
Probably not; apologies for being a bit bitter against people who swear off writers but then ask other people to buy it and tell them what happens.
I haven't read more than the first issue. Ultimate line isn't one I usually read fresh. And I don't know what you mean by 'why' the story instead of 'what' the story. I don't think Loeb's done an interview yet explaining why he's doing this; nor is the story completed, so no villain has revealed the reason for all these actions. I could tell you a few plot points, but Wikipedia could do a much better job than I could; and a comic spoiler site could REALLY get you the info you want. You might be better off, however, waiting until it's done and the fallout is written in Spider-Man.
Both the Avengers and X men are suffering from Justice League syndrome:
too many members in their rosters.
I agree with that in regards to the Avengers; that team should be more like the All-Star team in Baseball, and membership should be in short supply and a huge honor.
But I don't agree with the X-men. Their main thing is that every mutant is different, and every mutant is welcome to the community. X-men hasn't been a 'team' since Xavier died. It's been a community, working towards goals on dozens of fronts. Yes, some members go on battle assignments; oftentimes the battle team isn't composed of the same mutants either. I love the chance to see every mutant getting involved in the books.

I see your point but the X-Men also suffer from too many characters now with duplicate powers just with a new face, gender or clones.
This makes them lose some of their "special" individual status IMO.
brand new day took away the best spidey issue in the past 20 yrs IMO AND MADE IT NOT HAPPEN!!! when spidey went to the jail and beat the kingpin, it was just an all around awesome issue. brand new day took that away and made evert punch and slap not happen.

Is there something about my psychological profile that disturbs you? If there is, you can relax, because I have no idea where you live. You're safe for now.
Nah. The disturbing thing is what you have written as your signature.
"I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Werewolf By Night and Marvel's Monster of Frankenstein (with Mike Ploog sculpts) Marvel's Dracula, Killraven, The Zombie Simon Garth."
If Joephisto saw that, he'd have Bendis trying to come up with a combination of those characters all rolled up into one character.
