1. The Dark Avengers are appearing in ninety percent of Marvel's comics. I understand they are building to some big battle down the line and the more comics they appear in the more they will sell. But it seems like they pop-up and fight the star/group of the book to a standstill. It doesn't matter if they're fighting an army of Hulks or Hindsight Lad, the battle always ends in a draw. I wish one of these guest-start battles would have some kind of decisive end.
2. I realize that whenever they restart a series the sales goes up. So to egt people interested Hulk ends the current series and begins at issue one again. But in a want-to-eat-our-cake-and-have-it-too move the numbering reverts to what they would have been at if they had never stopped the original series. I don't think it would have been so bad if they had celebrated the 600th publication of a Amazing Spider-Man comic (splitting hairs, I know) without changing the current numbering system. But I guess they couldn't do that with Hulk or Thor since they didn't begin at #1. I just find it difficult putting these comics in order when I store them.
3. I guess they got their wish and were able to 'francise' the Avengers, but I really hate this trend. This isn't fast food. Back in the nineties people would by anything with an X on it and now we have 27 different X-Men books. Now we have five Avenger titles. Before it was something special to be a member of the Avengers but now it's kind of a joke.
4. I miss the way the Human Torch used to be drawn. I'm not sure when they changed it, probably due to the movie. When he was using his powers in the past he turned red and had black vertical lines around his body. I miss that look.
Wolverine in every book at least once a year, and half the titles every issue, of a wolverine clone/lost kid/future version/alternate universe version.
If any part of Iron Fist is on your list of what you don't like about Marvel, I would suspect you don't like Marvel, period.
IMO, Iron Fist is one of the few consistently excellent books Marvel puts out - it has the feel of an independent comic, with excellent stories, admittedly stylized art, and a 'mythos' that seems independent of the 'House of Dark Civil Secret Invasion Hulk' that has ruined Marvel over the last few years.
I guess I'm in the minority. I'm digging the Marvel U much more than the DCU right now. Of course, I'm an Avengers fan, so I don't mind my heroes getting some of the X-men style love right now. I enjoyed Civil War and Secret Invasion. Iron Man is my favorite superhero so I loved Tony's rise to power, just as I'm enjoying his fall from grace.
There is too much Wolvie, of course, but that hasn't changed much in the past 20 years when Wolvie would guest star all over the place to improve a sagging book's sales. He's in some ways more popular than Spider-man now.
And I still miss Cap. I would have thought Steve would be back by now, but I'm enjoying Bucky Cap's exploits, so that takes some of the sting out of it.
DC lost me with Final Crisis. I'm down to Titans and Secret Six now. Blackest Night looks good though. I've been getting the GL trades so this should be an excellent culmination of that epic.

Anybody remember the Herolympics thread on this site? Good times.

You are only reading two DC books, and one of them is Titans? No wonder you are not liking DC too much. Titans is horrible. Secret Six is good.
* I miss the days of Spider-Man when he was actually married. The whole making a deal with the devil kinda soured me on the series.
* Wolverine is indeed everyplace, but I'm enjoying the "Old Man Logan" storyline.
* Why, after the events of Planet Hulk & World War Hulk is the Hulk cack to his "Hulk smash!" self? Did I miss something on why he's stupid again? Also the Red Hulk? Lame.
* I agree with the huge amounts of Avengers books are kinda much (and I'm an avengers fans!) I do like Dark Avengers & Mighty Avengers though.

I like Young Avengers just because Kate Bishop is a badass. I wouldn't mind another Young Avengers/Runaways crossover, or maybe just a Kate/Nico issue.
