Yea! It's not like DC characters ever met up with movie stars like the Predator. Er, wait, they did that in Batman vs. Predator. Ok, it's not like the X-men ever met up with the crew of the Enterprise! Er, wait, they did that too. Ok, let's think of something completely ridiculous, like 2 amazing detectives from completely different eras. I demand Batman and Sherlock Holmes meet up! What? No. They really did meet up? Hmmm making this non-super-heroes crossover argument seem more and more unreasonable to to argue, huh?
So, let me echo the sentiment -- Get over it. If you don't like Street Fighter, Halo, LotR or whatever genre, simply don't buy it. Nobody's threatening to break your kneecaps to buy the sets.
On the other hand, if someone does like those genres, don't chastise them because they thought it would be fun for Ryu and Iron Fist to take on Akuma and the Steel Serpent. Simply let them have their own brand of enjoyment and move on.
As for expressing opinions, there's a limit to where things become overkill. I might say that I'm annoyed by the whining of 25+ year-olds who still live at home with mom, have no girlfriend, complain about make-believe characters, and make fun of whomever they can in order to make themselves feel better. Once might be fine. If I feel a need to repeat it in every post I write, that would be considered overkill and would likely be frowned upon.
I am not at all interested in the LotR characters. I never read the books and only watched the first movie. BUT I will buy this set.
I was not interested in GOW and am not interested in Halo either but I bought a case of GOW and will buy Halo as well.
I do this to support the game and my local comic/hobby shop.
And in the hopes that by doing this it will encourage Wizkids/Neca to invest in licensing for other non-Marvel/DC properties that I do desperately want to see included in my favorite game.
TMNT being first and foremost.
Ditto.
I may only use the GoW, HALO or LotR figures once in a blue moon, but it's nice to have variety and something akin to Mechwarrior or Mage Knight thematically, that is also fully compatible with Heroclix.
I hope that Horrorclix is bought back along the same lines, even if the release is limited.

And what if I do like Lord of the Rings a lot and am disappointed that its not much more then HeroClix.
Is it ok for me to express my disappointment in something that I was anticipating was going to be new and interesting?
Or can I only express my disappointment if its a Superman figure?
PS please post a link to the campaign rules if you have it

Looks good and looking forward to seeing some dials. My only planned interest however is the starter, primarily in the maps and campaign rules. Have run a few campaigns before. Curious to see how they compare to my own workings.
The Heroclix core game engine is a brilliant game engine.
So to add stuff like Lord of the Rings to this game is a real no-brainer for me.
And as far as Kick-###, Invincible, and a lot of other Indy type comics go, I'm all over Lord of the Rings before I would buy any of those Indy comics Heroclix. Not even close.
I'm VERY excited about these LOTR Heroclix pieces, and can't wait to have some in my grubby paws.
Now please make Aliens, Predator, Terminator, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, James Bond, Indiana Jones, Sherlock Holmes, and I think I will be all good as far as Heroclix goes!!!

I'm so looking forward to this set. I've already pre-ordered my Starter. Sadly, I don't have the money to pre-order a Gravity Feed case... I'll just have to hope that I can collect them all when they come out (especially Gandalf and some Ringwraiths/Nazgul.)
If Gandalf the White is a chase I am going to have a fit!
Still not sold on the starter; as cool as the giants are the heroes aren't really as cool as I had hoped...3 Hobbits?! Should have only had Frodo that way we could get a mini-Fellowship: Aragorn, Frodo, Legolas, Gimli. I would be all over that! I might have to wait for Christmas for this one as I can't justify buying it for myself...yet.
Boosters will be where its at! Must have Gandalf fig! Want to put together ultimate mystical heroes team: Gandalf, Dr. Strange, Dr. Fate, and Dhalsim (toss in Hellboy and Witchblade for added craziness!).
