Ok, these are NOT heroes... i want Gollum and THATS IT!!
Heroclix is a recognizable name of a game system, that has been refined for about 10 years, works very well and is understood by alot of people.
get over it.
So it is HeroClix with LotR figures as opposed to LotR with HeroClix figures.
Thats a big distinction for me.
I will spend my money elsewhere.

THANK YOU!! heroclix is a mechanic into itself. it is a style of gameplay if you will. people can throw this and that reason up, and that's fine. buy it or not!! it's not gonna stop. it sells, and the pieces are good. i coUld easily throw the warriors three, sif, balder the brave and pip the troll into that set and they'd fit perfectly fine. do those figures i mentioned look like the regular 'superheroes', NO!!
it's a shame people can't take the blinders off, but it's cool. i never thought i had seen what a 'fanboy' was until these 'other' properties started coming out. keep up the good work wizkids and remember 'HATERS GONNA HATE'!!
@antonio.clark.art is my instagram.take a look and tell me what you think....be blessed!!!
I will buy the starter and collect all 21 figures. Been waiting for this with a lot of anticipation. I agree that Heroclix is a game format, and I for one like seeing other properties come into the game. But, since I rarely ever play non-theme teams, I won't be teaming up Aragorn with Batman anytime soon, or ever. I'm raiding my local comic shop the day they get these!
Seems like a lot of hate for cross-story combinations in the thread so far. I don't understand that hate, myself. When you were a kid, didn't your ninja turtles fight with your beastmasters?
If it does well, we can hope for further expansions down the road, and eventually there's no problem playing a fantasy-only game of HeroClix, or even a Tolkien-only game. For the present, there's only going to be 29 different Rings figures. Is that not enough choice for a decent game?
I'm looking forward to getting the Witch King, and playing him with Rasputin, Dormammu, and Trigon. Just tell me one thing. What's a Horde Token?
(Please let it be an Orc Pog.)
