Eh. There'sw starting to be WAY too much product out there. There's alot I would buy that I'm starting to have to slow down on. I'm interested in a cheaper way to play Onslaught. But I can't see myself buying a new one. Between Superman, LotRs, Halo, and to a lesser degree Hulk. Some things have to be cut out.
I play Heroclix, Pathfinder, and retro video games on Twitch!
I will admit, however, that the point scales are perfect, the dials rock, and I can't wait to get these.
I agree. I love the flexibility.
I wish I could share in some people's disgust over getting to much product but I think that's kinda lame really. Get over your need to own everything and stop making it sound so negative that we are being flooded with product. In this economy, it just means that WK/NECA is doing well for themselves and I'm all for that. I hate waiting a few months between releases and welcome all the extra stuff.
I never thought it was that difficult to get the original gsx colossals. I managed to get 1 of everything and 8 frost giants and I spent less than $25 for almost all of them. Just look around and post in the sale threads. The first frost giants are much better than these ones

Its not always about just being better though. They bring more versatility with their different point values. Run 2 of the 300pt FGs and 2 of the 200pt FGs for a 1k good time. Or you could run 3 of these guys for what it costs to run 2 of the older versions. Versatility, and I welcome the $#!& out of it.
I look forward to some easily available Frost Giants.
coming soon : nu52 Hercules

Well.. the sentinels and Apoc were better dialed then the ones in the set, i dont know if I can say the same about these. Although the nemesis looks cool for a horse man team because he was so many points before. This makes him more playable I guess.
I wish I had a t-shirt with Jace Beleren and Wade Wilson standing back to back with Gir sitting on the floor beneath them.

They're also more expensive, so they should be.
I like the dials. I'll admit, releasing double-version colossals and doing the whole TRU thing instead of just releasing them at local shops really gets under my skin, but.... I'm still planning to buy them, so I guess I don't really have a right to complain.

I feel like the waiting helps build anticipation and excitement though. In the last couple days, we've had previews for Supes, Halo, LotR, and Hulk. That's a lot to process. I know the clamoring for the next product would always start immediately after the release of the current one- but those wishes unfulfilled would create a longing that could build itself up to a frenzy by the time they started the next group of previews. It made that first preview for the next set so special- because we had this shared experience of longing and looking forward. Now? It's like sensory overload. I was super pumped at the Lord of the Rings stuff because it's Lord of the Rings. I enjoyed the Watchmen previews because of the way that WizKids released them (through our very own talented writers/podcasters).
But otherwise, I haven't been emotionally invested in a set for a long time. And this is not a trifle passing matter, either. Because if I can rationally justify passing on one set...or two...or three...then what is to stop me from just saying 'You know what? I have a ton of figures. I have all the characters that I ever wanted. And now I'm just going to stop buying new stuff altogether'. Yes, I hate waiting too. But waiting is a lesser evil IMO than oversaturation is.
But they sold out instantly. That IS an overwhelming response to a merchandising business.... Wizkids is not a collector, they just want everything to sell.
Wait, all the TRU exclusives really sold out instantly? I just purchased the Apocalypse yesterday at a local comic shop in NYC. There were a ton of the TRU exclusives there. Coincidence?
