X-Men is better fleshed out than the others, after Xplosion.
JLA does, however, have both Hypersonic Speed (Flash) and Perplex (Plastic Man).
My JLA team beat my friend's X-Men team, but he just wasn't expecting Blue Beetle to Force Blast Nightcrawler off the building (I don't know what he thought I put Beetle in the team for).
R Hawkman, E Booster Gold, E Steel. None of them have Phasing, but they're all really fast flyers with free movement.
I will say one thing about xmen the movie and then never speak on it again. When it sucked it SUCKED! But when it was good, it was awe-inspiring.
I don't care whether the X-men amount to anything on a real power level or not. Their comics are usually far greater than that of the avengers; and their overall story is much more interesting. Currently I'm not happy with either.
The Avengers are almost always said to win (except this thread suprisingly) because they have so much and so many in the terms of power; and use this power more or less to it's extent on a daily bases However many of the X-men have extremely apocalyptic potentials that they constantly keep in check because the results will almost definitely be disastrous. It's like the line professor x says in the preview
"I pity the soul who comes to that school looking for trouble." Or something like that.
I am not voicing an opinion either way. I feel that this fight of all comic fights would cause globally destructive acts on either side, and I as one never wish to see this fight take place because for the results could be similar to that of nuclear war.
Someone said there is no Outwit on the X-men. Actually, there in Invulnerable Outwit on White Queen Vet. Sure, she's not worth her points, but in an all-the-Avengers v. all-the-X-men battle, she'd lay down the hurt on Iron Man and Thor.
In comics, the JLA have a decent shot, but it goes to the X-men in the end. Simply put, the X-Men are the most powerful team ever, and here's a few reasons why:
1) Phoenix can destroy them all at once if she gets mad.
2) Prof. X can control a big portion of them to attack one another or jack them up in several other serious ways.
3) Rogue can put anyone in a coma and then use their powers against the team. This would be particularly handy against Firestorm or Martian Manhunter. Not sure if it would work on Superman.
4) White Queen is another force to be reckoned with. If the JLA can stand up to Prof X AND Phoenix they would be lucky. There's no way they can beat all three of them.
5) Magneto....Superman is the Man of Steel, right? Instant KO. HAHAHA...ok...
Long live Veteran Rogue!!! Huzzah!
That's my opinion. You can get over yourself or you can live your whole life being wrong.

Maybe you need to do your research before you start going on comic-based geo-physics, alright? Iron isn't metallic.
The fact that Magneto managed to pull this off once in the comics just goes to show how poorly written most of the X-men stuff really is ...

I work on a blast furnace, where pig iron is made from raw ore and later processed into steel at a oxygen furnace, and I can assure you that iron is both metallic and magnetic.
In clix terms I think the X-Men will currently win any battle due to numbers. This is hardly surprising based on the fact that an entire clix expansion was dedicated to the crafty mutants.
I’m personally waiting for Cosmic Justice before I make any decisions. With core characters like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter (to counter Prof X) and maybe even Captain Marvel and Green Arrow on the JLA roster I think even the Uncanny X-Men will find the DC Gods to be an insurmountable mountain of power.
A bit of the same goes for the Avengers. Though they are mostly complete they are still missing a few key characters (Wonder Man comes immediately to mind).
Professor X... True, he is counted among the greatest mentalists (if not the greatest) on the planet. But you folks often forget that Martian Manhunter (JLA) and Moondragon (Avengers) also rank among the greatest mentalists known. The one drawback that Prof X has is that he lacks the natural protection that Martian Manhunter and Moondragon possess. In essence his presence renders at least one X-Man useless since that team member (usually Jean Gray) must remain on the defensive at Xavier's side.
Well, its sure fun to think about a battle between these three mega groups - all at the same time. What about it, an X-men vs. Avengers vs. JLA battle royal thread??? (I'll not be the one to post another vs. thread)

I should have been more clear in my original statement. Iron should have been followed by 'in the blood', but alas for the loss of the edit function ...
Let me explain. The difference between the two is this:
Iron in the blood is very different from metallic iron (or the Pig Iron you make), which is strongly magnetic because the individual atomic magnets are strongly coupled together by the phenomenon we call ferromagnetism. The remarkable properties of ferromagnetic materials are a result of the cooperative behavior of many millions (usually billions) magnetic atoms acting in unison.
The iron in blood, however, consists instead of isolated iron atoms within large hemoglobin molecules, located inside the red blood cells. Although each of the iron atoms is magnetic when coupled with billions of others, they are each embedded inside your hemoglobin and are not next to other iron atoms. This causes them to remain magnetically independent, and thus largley unaffectable by Magneto's powers.
The idea of magnetizing the iron in the bloodstream also runs into a second problem: Water. You see, water is daimagnetic. If you apply a magnetic field to water, the molecules naturally produce a counter-field that is about 100,000 times smaller than the original magnetic field, thus providing a natural resistance.
As the human body is 70% water and less than .1% iron -- iron which is barely affectable by Magneto in the first place -- the water would form a natural resistance to the iron by creating a diamagnetic field.
Thus, Magneto -- Mutant Master of Magnetism -- couldn't magnetize your blood and knock you unconscious by causing it all to pool in your brain. Can't be done. Period. Got it?

"Did I miss something? Is Jean Gray now able to access the absolute power of the Phoenix Force or is she just a very powerful mutant?"
Right now Jean is going through her second mutation and (I'm not 100% sure about this) but shes either gaining the same powers Dark Phoenix had or shes gaining the ability to call on and use the Phoenix force. Her and Cyclops are also on the rocks (since she found out he and White Queen were having a mental affair) so shes pretty pissed - basically don't #### with Jean.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
i gotta say that right now i do think that the x univers is in an overall good spot
new xmen is good when frank quietly draws it and morrisons story is little more than mediocre
uncanny is starting to go in a decent direction garney is back (that kia guy wasnt good on the book) and austen is doing ... well... he's writing it. i think that uncanny is the worst main x-book out right now. but i do really like juggernaut on the team.
xtreme- larocca is fantastic on anything and although i am a firm supporter of the anti-claremont club this is close to being the best x-book out right now
"new xmen is good when frank quietly draws it and morrisons story is little more than mediocre"
Oh come on. Quietly sucks at drawing, when he does it looks like a kid drew it. I would love it someone like Adam Kurbet took over new X-Men full time. And Morrisons been a great writer for X-Men. He's the first to show the school as it would really be, he writes realistic, violent drama filled storys that don't always need a big supervillian and when there is a big supervillian (like Nova) shes around for a long time.

X-Treme is pretty good right now, but for some reason Claremont is having a big problem managing the team (he keeps adding and dropping characters for no reason) though Cannonball just joined, maybe he'll finally keep a steady roster. And Unncanny is getting a lot better.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
He wasn't dead, he was left nearly dead at the bottom of a gorge in the Savage Land. He laid there for quite a while, unable to move and drifting in and out of consciousness -- fed only by the rage he gathered from picturing Logan consoling Jean -- before he was rescued by Magneto's folks before they attempted to wipe out all of the life on the planet outside of their little hovering rock.
However, rescuing him proved to be the downfall of the Master of Magnetism as Scott regained consciousness and summoned the rest of the X-men to the previously hidden rock with a homing beacon ...
