How is it a surprise?
And how do you think I am saying it is a surprise?
A lot of people have predicted a few of these things.
The Spidey TB and a future Flash Set were both locks.
What do they , or me , have to have to "back it up"?
Pictures on the WizKids website?
It is a big Facebook group, RP saw it also.
Don't believe it if you don't want to.
It seem to me that you were implying this is surprise info, when people can guess that this was going to happen.
Proper back up of this type of information should be from Wizkids. Right now we got "reliable sources".
Besides, how can this be wrong it is from the internet.

It sounds like he was just messing with whomever he was talking to.
I just assumed Anti-Monitor would be like a the DoFP Sentinal, except the second half of that war of light Sinestro starter. That makes perfect sense.
They flash thing would be no surprise though, They can only make so many batman and superman sets. And they will have just had a big fat Green lantern one.
If it is true though, that guy doesn't know what the word hint means.
^^^This pretty much.
Salu Digby as LeVIathan in clix!

The Non-Green Lantern Batteries being Con Exclusives is pretty awful. I'm all for agreeing that con exclusives are the anathema to this game. If they were sold outside of the cons at a later date just to give those who won them a period of time of exclusivity, but with #### like this, WK is driving the secondary market up and up and up.
Flash set is cool, hopefully the Rogues have the Society KW.
Not happy about the tons of Con LEs that are going to be flooded to us during the con "season"
Yeah, I'm not sure what else to feel except what everyone else does. It really sucks to see them drive up the secondary market like this by aggrandizing what they give the few people who can make the events. Anti-Monitor was a pass for me anyway, but I did want the team base and a few of the lanterns. It especially stings because we had the team base previewed at the end of the convention season last year, and we had this long to wonder how it was going to be released.
The Lanterns are probably the hardest to take though. All this hype over War of the Light, and you can't even get most of them in the event itself.
The Flash set sounds cool though. Another chance to get a lot of needed clix. Not necessarily my personal favorite, but I think it's healthy for the game that we're getting another set of Not-Super/Batmans
I'm still a bit unsure of how to react. :/ A year is a long ways off to wait for Captain Cold in Modern Age play; but at the same time, I'm hoping that a fully-themed set will be as comprehensive for the Rogues as Batman/SoG was for relatively obscure Bat-villains. Preferably, I'd like the early-mid 2000s Rogues filling out the main set with the New 52 versions reserved solely for either chases or something.
Will Etrigan make that set or the one after? JSA or Suicide Squad would both make great subthemes (what with Jay's inclusion in the former and Boomerbutt, Snart, and Owen being members of the latter).
Thinking about it more, I don't like team bases, resources are kinda boring....if these are the only con exes then I am happy. That means I dont have to hunt down any characters other than Ms Lion.
this is indeed frustrating... I'm so upset right now, not even Mr. Freeze's "cold puns" could "cool" me off.
How is anyone supposed to get this set without spending a ton of money? Am I supposed to give up the will to live to buy heroclix? I mean, I know I'm speculating here on my part but I've heard it through the grape vine that wizkids also wants it so there chases are harder to pull again. Apparently, the chases aren't as high on the secondary market as they would like them to be.... well maybe if they made more chases like the Phoenix Five, they wouldn't have to worry about that.
On the note of the lantern stuff... Again, this is infuriating... so not only do we have to pay $30 a month for 2 boosters.... (our store is only doing 1 booster...) (let alone if you want to play at multiple stores a month too)... they are also making another anti-monitor con exclusive that already had it's limelight and freaking lantern batteries that are going to be more expensive than the bat belt con items. If they make all the constructs exclusive too, how is anyone supposed to complete it?
If this is how is how it's going to be for future events... count me out. I can barely get the stuff I want to collect and play now, let alone continue putting my money towards things like this. I will not be participating in War of Light as I can't just can't support that method of business.
Guess I'll just keep and play what I have now... Forces of Sauron!
You are supposed to some how get to a con, win like I did, then open your prize and realize it has the wrong dial. Then, after months of chasing dead ends at wizkids, one of the will eventually tell you to #### yourself and stop emailing them.
I'm just glad there's not convention exclusives of classic characters so far like Dr. Fate or Gentleman Ghost yet.
If Wizkids wants to keep other colored batteries and lantern anti-monitor exclusive to the 2-3 conventions they visit in the northeast part of the United States, then my money will stay exclusively away from those conventions.
I am not at all surprised that they have decided to bump up the amount of exclusive convention material in lieu of visiting more conventions. Why should I care about these exclusives if I never plan on living remotely close to anywhere they attend conventions?
Flash set sounds great though. New Rogues, which means a new Captain Boomerang for Suicide Squad builds.

I am not sure what I am missing here but what does WizKids gain by driving up prices on the secondary market? I have always wondered that. Doesn't it hurt their bottom line by not releasing something themselves? I am just confused here, can anyone shed light (maybe a Green Lantern's light) on this for me?

I'm going to go ahead and echo sentiments that I hope to God that Con Exclusive batteries will just be recolors of the Green Lantern Battery.
People will still buy them, for ascetic purposes. But if Wizkids really intends on making 8 different Lantern Batteries with 8 different objects a piece that ALL do something different? You're talking 64 different con exclusive items that are gonna be $50 a piece mandatory due to severely low product as opposed to extremely high demand.
We're talking $3,200 minimum for any collectors trying to get a full set of Batteries. Or $400 for just the most tournament competitive won.
It really is the Utility Belt all over again.
Please for the love of God just let them be recolors. Otherwise you're gonna have repeats of a recent problem with Magic The Gathering where people are getting mugged for their expensive collections outside of conventions.
This
Do you think they might have something like the power plant for the batteries?
Stop complaining, you all are lucky to now know what's in the future.
Thanks to some dink from my page, you all are now bickering about something you should've already expected.thats why I didn't want it leaked to the realms. Nothing but a bunch of immature trolls...

I heard some info on a Facebook group that I am part of.
Nobody is saying to keep it secret, so I will share it with all of you.
The Black Lantern Anti-monitor is a Con Exclusive.
The Spidey Team Base is a Con exclusive.
The differently colored Lantern Resources are Con Exclusives.
The next DC set will be Flash based.
Sounds like a bunch of hearsay to me, if it ends up being true I feel bad for those of you who really wanted the different color batteries. I expected Spider-Man to be this years Trinity of Sin. Looks like after Deadpool I get to save some money this year.

Unless you mean we should've been expecting to be openly lied to by WK, I don't see how we're "immature trolls" for complaining about their incessant gouging.
I'm not exactly sure how else we were supposed to interpret "it's going to drive players to your stores" when referring to the Anit-Monitor.
We don't like having all this highly desired content being convention exclusives. A fraction of HC players are going to attend conventions and then would have to pay an inflated to price to obtain those items if they didn't attend.
So unless you're saying we should just accept and be ok with WK being Games Workshop Jr. I don't understand how we're "immature trolls" for wanting desired product at reasonable availability for reasonable prices.
