Comic fans are used to buying once a month.
Looks like all the twice a month titles fall in sales for the second issue.

Maybe that "Blah Blah" title you keep mentioning would sell more than 10K copies?

Are all new comics at least $ 3.99 now? If so, does anyone think this is preventing most young people from collecting them? Paying close to $ 5.00 for a single new comic just seems really expensive to me. I'd rather just get a back issue of something I know is good. Also, how are shops staying open with low sales & then most of these new comics are found in a .50 cent bin within a few months? Just some worries I have about the future of collecting. Anyone else share these concerns?

I don't buy comics anymore, partly because $4 for 1/5 or so of a story is ridiculous. I am pretty sure that the cost is a major factor in declining sales.

The availability of official online archives can't be helping. Why pay for an issue at four to six bucks for multiple issues when you can pay ten bucks a month for everything, even if it's six months behind?

Specific to this thread, that isn't really an issue for DC. Their creator contracts make it nigh-impossible to launch an all-you-can-eat service comparable to Marvel Unlimited.

However... you do still have to take Comixology sales into consideration. If you're patient, most recent DC content will eventually turn up in a 99-cent sale (or cheaper if the "trade" is up for sale).

Then, speaking to Arsenal's broader point: It's the same reason why some people will pay a higher cost to get new Clix immediately upon release, while others will wait a couple months for them to cool off. Some people just want that new hotness right away.
