Heheh, the options of the sixth set are quite vast and many options are indeed available. I do believe my deck is indeed quite the beast, however it also requires a good duelist to use in my opinion. I am quite curious how a mirror match would play out having never faced one. It would be a fun match with spells being cast all over the place, me and my opponent reading each others moves and such. A race to see who can summon Sigma first or disrupt the other.
However mono-light is indeed a problem, and light did infact defeat an early version of the deck in my Japanese play experience even utilizing such cards as Ur Paler, the Mechathunder guy. I was indeed a victim of tap/kill. If one makes use of Arc Bine it can indeed be very bad for survivors. Aeris/Alci isn't really a problem, but a deck say that combined Arc Bine with heavy discard and terror pit could indeed prove troublesome. *hint*
Arc bine you say. I just looked at the card and it is one of the most annoying cards Ive seen in my entire life not just counting this game of course. The only thing is how to keep safe from your spells. Big Al is the only way around your spells so if I can protect Arc bine enough to get out Al I'll be in good shape. But that leaves your hand and to have hand detruction I need Black. But if I use black then Al hurts me. Someones gonna figure out a way for it to work lol. Oya crew breakers just break shield according to the number of monsters of that type you have on the field and not that ability and you can summon other crew breakers from your hand. I need you to confirm this so my friend can shut up about how sweet his dragonoid crew breaker deck is going to be and how they do wat I just typed. If they even make dragonoid crew breaker cards. I think that would be a cool deck but I dont think dragonoids will be.. what am I tryin to say. It will be affective, but it will only go so far. Thats just what I think. I dont think mono-colors can cut it anymore.
Indeed I can just draw a Pit and put an end to the annoyance, but that doesn't make any less annoying in the first place, lol. Crew Breakers do indeed break shields based on the number of creatures of that race on the field. There is a psuedo crew breaker:
SUPER DRAGON BAHAMU (Translation from Edo)
Evolution Creature / Armored Dragon / Fire / 4 / 11000 / 1
- Evolution -Place on top of 1 of your Armored Dragons.
- When this Creature attacks a Shield, Break 1 more Shield for each of your Dragonoids in the Battle Zone.
Y2P14 (Gold Lettering) - Promo
This is not a crew breaker since it does not say "Crew Breaker". Currently the only Crew Breakers are for Dragons, Survivors, and Armored Dragons.
Even if you try Alci I can kill the base, or force it to be discarded via Skullsweeper. Better to go discard and limit my options as much as possible. I don't know what you mean by summon crew breakers from hand... only non-evo crew breaker is Ultimate Dragon, a dragon crewbreaker. So please rephrase your question so I can understand it.
He's retarded. I keep telling him crew breakers just break lots of shields not summon others from your hand. I dont know where he heard that from but its really annoying. You know one of those people who think their the best at anything they do? Even that duel masters battlezone mag I got way back when says crew breakers break shield for how many of their tye is on your side of the field. Thats all I meant.
Ryoma I have a question how many times has Burst Shot hurt you? cause unless you have 2 Smash Horn out Shot kills Skullsweeper Q, Blazosaur Q/Bridage Shell Q granite they can make a come back via Grave Worm Q but I was just curious.
Well it's all a matter of what Burst Shot is there for. It's to kill quick rush decks, ones that try to kill you before you know what has happened. Against such decks killing 2 of their creatures and 2 of yours is to your benefit. Additionally Grave Worm is there for such things. What is needed for the Survivor deck is one of two things: either you eliminate the opponents offense and then win via counter-attack with Grave, or outspeed the opponents deck to win.
This particular survivor deck cannot stand a back and forth exchange. Burst Shot is a board sweeper that is needed to set up Sigma. It is all about timing with this deck, but this deck all the tools needed to win. The philosphy is simple, kill their stuff until you can summon Sigma for the win. Burst Shot is great at killing stuff. Trading evenly is worth it since you have a reviving card, and the opponent does not usually.
If you are worried about it, you can always run Wave instead. I like getting the Shield Triggers, thats the premise. Of course this build is not the end all say all. For example in my most recent build I include the triggered crimson hammer, shell brigde, and even a mana nexus and magma rex (kill the lupia!) thrown in for fun. My build is all about the STs. Having half the shields as STs is fun and deadly. Try out other builds, you may find an ever more successful build!
I have recently run a suvivor deck, and I found that rumble gate helped greatly. You can get the effects of your suvivors, without giving them hand advantage, and you also destroy any chance of swarm. I haven't tried it in a tournament, but I have tested against multiple control, swarm, and rush decks.
The only thing I see that you could fix is natural snare. Yes I know its a great card its actually one of my fav. Its just that your giving them mana. Which kind of helps them get a turn or maybe even two ahead of you. So is their a card that is coming that just kills its instead of putting it into the manazone? Its nature though and not dark so I assume not. I say the burst shots are worth it. I dont know what the percentage is of the monsters it has potential to kill but I know its crazy. Other than that with the cards we have in english this deck is perfect. The deck almost forces them to make a hasty attack just because its a survivor deck. If you rush in theirs a 50% chance youll hit a ST(haha). Rumble gate would have to replace Burst shot which is out of the question your opponent has 1 ooze a b.claw and a rikabu on the field what would you rather have as a shield and imagine you have 2 shields left. Thats the way I feel when it comes to cards like that. I read on a magic the gatherin card."Who cares about the pawns if the king has yet to take the thrown?" Something like that. You end up getting the monsters back so it really doesnt matter.
Actually I would use mana nexus intead of life or u can make the nature count 16 and have the deck look like this. But with this you dont have discard so I dont know. I just think you have mana accel when u need it, and you can get back survivors you need from your mana zone and grave yard. You also have 24 shield triggers now. I dont have f. lifes yet and I only have one Grave wurm. So can you test this build?
You definitely have lots of defense now, but do you have enough survivors? I would suggest you do your own testing. It doesn't matter if I can win with the deck, but if you can, lol. My low survivor build has not so well against the latest control (in JP meta) because they can remove grave worm from the deck itself via Lost Charger. Also a combination of hand and field removal can also spell doom for a survivor deck with few survivors.
This is not to say survivors are not successful, just this build has its limitations. Test out things and see what survivor deck can work for you. I am thinking about adding Dark Reversal to enchance to revival aspect, so I do not have to worry so much about having 2 Grave Worms in hand to ensure their survival for example. Also adding the 6 mana Logic Cube or Dimension Gate survivor as other possible additions. Also the popular Searing Wave, or even a Merfolk survivor build is possible.
This build has long since dropped from its invincible status, even mine has changed adding some of the Dimension Gate, and Brigade Shells along with varying the kill considerably. Experiment for yourself, and see what you can come up with.
any tips on running a survivor deck against Green Blue Liquid people beastfolk (English meta)? It's just I am sick of this deck dominating my local meta, but I don't want to have to break out the Blue Black Merfolk deck to stop it, I want to actually do well using survivors.
Well with set 5 I like to use balloonshroom to accelerate and then use twin cannon to win. What you can do is use Ghost Touch and Loco along with some removal such as Hammer/Pit/Smoke. So Blazosaur, Smash Horn, Balloon are your survivors. Hope these ideas help ya.
I acquired one of him in Japan but never used it. The problem is that you need to use non survivor cards to use it with. I haven't seen any creative ways to use this ability. Since survivors already have nearly every card ability the ability to make other cards into survivors doesn't seem worth the trouble. You can do some cool things like if you have Omnistrain, and Rumblesaur you can just lay down 3 creatures and give them speed attacker, or with Omnistrain, and a Forbos you can use a Pyrofighter Magnum to keep getting killspells for you.
The problem lies in that you need Omnistrain, a particular survivor, and a particular creature to pull off these combos. And since Omnistrain is a mere 3k he is vulnerable to Searing Wave.
Omnistrain is a cool little trinket, he can evolve from a Shield Trigger...neato. I mean if you have a Blazosaur and a Rumblesaur and get Omni triggered, it can be fun to just lay down 3 creatures the next turn and go ape, but you need non-survivor creatures. Definitely a card you can use creatively but don't expect to win very much with it.
