D/C/A - Duke/Crusader/Agility - Refers to Duke Aaron Sandoval, his preferred Mech "Crusader", and the Agility gear card that is considered mandatory for his Mech to have. Did not think of the combo first, but I am the first to refer to it as D/C/A (as far as I know)

I disagree with this deffinition of SCRUB. here is my deffinition
SCRUB: A term that pre-dates MW, it is a well known term that is used to refer to players that are easy victories .... "I faced a scrub in the first round ... it was an easy win" or in a rare case "YOU LOST TO A SCRUB!!!!" it also refers to someone that is typicaly young, and not totaly familier with the rules/sterategy of a game and is surprised by the most mundane of manuvers. They are know to say thinks such as "I didn't know you coud do X", or "That rule is unfair if I had of know that before hand". SCRUB is commonly used in M:tG to define players who play things other than teir one decks or decks that don't work in MW it is used to describe the poor guy (or girl) at a venue that just dosn't get it or looses to the same mistake every game.
Actually I think lt_murgen's def. is more accurate. The "SELF-imposed restrictions" is really what defines scrubdom, and distinguishes them from new (or just plain bad) players. There's an in-depth site on the matter here:
It was a great article i belive this term deserves 2 deffinitions because it is a very powerful and meaniful term. Although i don't like "faction pure" to be a quality of a scrup remember that a BR almost faction pure won worlds .... and i play faction pure and win alot so i wouldn't say that faction pure makes a scrub ... it just happens to be a side effect of those self imposed rules of combat... i mean if everyone fought like the red coats it would be really boring

Yeah, lets define noob (and not just becasue someone left that in my rep for a post in this thread)
noob (n): A new player, or the insinuation of a player being new at the game. Usualy used as a derrogatory term in reference to tactics, army construction or behaviour. Origin: the first online game, I would think.
META-GAME: The underlying rules and statistical background of a game which forms the logic of the gaming system. Often used when discussing generic strategy rather than specific builds. ORIGIN: ?
Looking through various sources, I see several definitons of metagame. A more common defintion applies to Mechwarrior.
The "metagame" deals with elements outside the game itself, that have bearing on the game. For example, when designing an army, you are metagaming if you design an anti-Warpog army because you know everyone at your venue plays Warpog.
Looking at what people play and how they play is part of the metagame.
Note that there are different levels of metagame, too. If you are playing at your local venue, that's one metagame. If you are playing at the Nationals, that likely is another metagame. You can expect to run into different armies, styles and tendancies at different levels. A winning player takes the "metagame" into account when designing his army.
I did a little digging and stumbled across this nifty little thread. I found it to be very informative, and a little funny. I think it will come in handy for new players and people who used to play around 6 or 7 years ago and have recently begun to play again. It really helped me understand a great deal of jargon which made little sense to me.
