Originally posted by Jaxxin I think the following cards should be banned in all constructed formats that would previously allow them:

Just my opinion.
That's surprising. I definitely would love to see the Doctor banned, but Enemy? It allows a whole lot of decks that wouldn't otherwise exist to be playable and broadens formats. I'd like to hear your reasoning as to why you'd want it banned.
the last time I heard numbers like that, it was skullclamp. Enemy will be worth like 70 dollars on site, and the sad truth is, enemy will actually make skrull negative zone awful, b/c it will make a few very good decks GREAT decks.
I may be way off base with this, but I know several people who had to spend hundreds of dollars to purchase enemies for this PC, do you?
before there were teams that were specifically good at getting you the character you wanted, and that is why you played those teams,
aka gotham knights for batsignal
marvel knights for wildride
fantastic four for signal flare
Enemy puts a pretty big dent into at least one of those teams viability. I just think it should be harder in this game to play the best possible character at every drop than it currently is.
But I do concede that maybe that is the eventual wish of UDE, a game where you start 95% of your decklists with
4x enemy
and then just play whatever theme that you are after, disregarding team affiliation. Enemy hurts the idea of actually 'teaming up' and benefits those who will now be silver-bulleting like crazy.
I know there are like 10 different characters that should be considered for every Silver-Age deck, and 3-5 should be in every deck and can easily be accessed with enemy.
Playing against rush, why not a hawkeye
Playing against army 1's, how about a mikado or 2
playing against a power-up deck, well you figure it out,
the list goes on and on with 1'ofs that are devastating.
And it isn't that I don't think these things should be possible, I just don't think they should be THIS easy to do. There was a time when you had to actually work to character search for a silver-bullet.
But, infy people won't agree with me on this, and it won't break my heart if they never ban it, I'll just have to make sure I keep my 7 enemies in good condition for when they are selling for 50 a piece in a few months.
yeah, I'm lowballing it b/c I think people are going to start buying boxes of x-men purely for the enemies, this will also in my opinion drop the prices on all the other x-men set rares. So purching worthingtons and emmas will become easier.
I have full confidence that should there be a balance shift, MHG will fix it. Cards that KO team-ups or KO characters not teamed up as the case may be. I just hope they donīt ban more cards.
thanks for the sarcasm buddy, that's just my argument though (as it was asked for). Obviously toolboxes will be possible, but my meaning is that it will become unavoidable.
I think we will see more cards that punish players for not having their entire field teamed up. I expect to see Galactus impose his team on even the other players characters, or at least I woudl hope this coudl occur. Sort of like League stripping affiliations, I would love for a Glactus card to say that the target character cannot attack, or be attacked this turn, and gains the Herald affiliation, losing all others.
EomE is just fine in Golden. And contrary to what many people want to think, it is not the necessity people think it is for many decks. MANY teams have better search if you DO stay on team. And for some team ups, staying within team is far superior to EomE.
But I do hope we see more Betrayal like effects real soon.
The only reason that EOME is so good is exactly that i3ullseye, no true threats out there in Silver.
I always liked Betrayal, I'd love to see a new version of that card but a little more threatening.
Something like...
Doublecrossed!
As an additional cost to play Doublecrossed!, pay 5 endurance.
Stun target character an opponent controls if it does not share an affiliation with any other characters its player controls. Lose endurance equal to that characters cost.
