I prefer Jeroid as well. His effect is quite handy for knocking those stronger tribute monsters the AF's cant handle down a peg (lol @ Jeroid Story). Newdoria...I dunno. I don't like how you have to wait until he gets destroyed as a result of battle to get his effect. Night Assailant is better IMO. Still, I also run Helpoemer, who also has to go to the grave for his effect, but then his effect is so much better :devious:
I've been trying this NEW thing with my Fiend deck (red sleeves inside of black sleeves with banned cards) and with my Archfiend deck (blue sleeves inside of black sleeves with no banned cards).
Magical Scientist and Summoner of Illusions were summoning Fusion monsters like crazy.
Magical Scientist was summoning the basic 3 (Senshi, Balter, Ojama King) while Summoner of Illusions was summoning Fiend Skull Dragon and the stronger fusions (Master of Oz, St. Joan, and B. Skull Dragon).
But there's a NEW twist. 1 Dimensionhole and 2 Interdimensional Matter Transporters kept "popping up". I made my opponent REALLY mad. But oh well.
I'm evil and I don't care....:p
We all know what the IMT normal trap does:
Select 1 face-up monster on your side of the field and remove it from play until the End Phase of the turn this card is activated.
Using this on any fusion monster, whether Special summoned by Scientist OR Summoner, will sever them from the effects of the Scientist or the Summoner. Allowing them to stay oin the field past the end phase.
However, with the release of the chainable IMT, we all forgot about the normal spell card, Dimensionhole:
Remove 1 monster on your side of the field from play until your next Standby Phase. The card still counts towards the 5-card Monster Zone limit.
Yes, it's not chainable and can't be used during your opponent's turn. However, it DOES have it's advantages.
With Scientist, you'd need to set IMT for an entire turn before you'd be able to use it on your monster during YOUR turn, when scientist's effect can be activated.
With this card, you can activate Scientist's effect and, during Main Phase 2, activate Dimensionhole and remove the fusion monster from play until your next turn, when it will help create a field presence.
And I got to thinking."Wow, now that can come in handy!"
No need to mention that after I had Ryu Senshi and Dark Balter on the field, it was only a matter of time before my opponent was in the corner. I swear, before my last attack, I said to myself, "THIS I have to brag about to Squid, Pyrofire, and the rest of the guys about".
Then of course, evil thoughts start popping into my head. Evil...EVIL...EEEVIIIILL thoughts....:
Thoughts like:
"Hey, none of those cards say to 'Special Summon' the monster back to the field. Just 'place' them"
"You FOOL!!! The monster with the most DEVASTATING attack in the GAME, and YOU, who prides himself in preaching the use of rares and commons to blah blah blah. You should be ashamed of yourself!!!"
"THINK, you fool THINK!!! What's the worst situation you can be in when playing this game?..."
"So you've FINALLY figure it out? What are you waiting for? GO!!! Share it with our people!!!"
So after my Evil half and my Eviler half were done arguing, I rummaged through my box O cards and dug up an Ultra Rare who has now become playable. But before you can go out and hunt my fellow evil-doers, let's explain some cards:
First things first, there are 2 cards that work like this card:
Dimensionhole
Normal Spell Remove 1 monster on your side of the field from play until your next Standby Phase. The card still counts towards the 5-card Monster Zone limit.
(rare)
Different Dimension Gate
Continuous Spell Select 1 Monster Card each from you and your opponent's sides of the field and remove them from play. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, return those monsters to the field in the same battle position as when they were removed from play.
These cards allow you to remove a monster from your side of the field and bring it back later.
How is this beneficial? When you summon a Fusion monster like Master of Oz with it's RIDICULOUS stats of 4200atk and 3700def, or St. Joan the 2800atk LIGHT monster who can be removed for Chaos fodder without the fear of losing useful cards before a Fiber flip, the meanest looking Archfiend Black Skull Dragon or the field disrupting master Ojama King, you'll want to keep them on the field for as long as possible.
Dh and DDG will allow you to do this.
SO now you'll have a way of severing you fusion monsters from the effects of their masters during your opponent's turn (Book of Moon, IMT) and during your turn (IMT, Dh, DDG and BoM).
Yes, that's right. Even the most elusive Fusion monsters are now ours to keep.
However, that's all OLD news.
So what's this new thought in my head? 3 Syllables for ya.....
HINO....
KAGU....
TSUCHI!!!!!!
That's right, HIM!!! Look at this guy's face. Does he look sane to you?
Here's the thought that popped in my head...
Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi
FIRE/Pyro/8/2800/2900 This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. If this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, your opponent must discard all cards in his/her hand during the next Draw Phase before they draw.
Tribute 2 monsters and summon Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi and if you can connect a hit, do so.
Then during Main phase 2, activate Dimensionhole or D.D. Gate and remove Hino from play until a later time. Whenhe comes back, his time to return to the hand will have passed and he'll remain on the field. No going back to the hand. He won't be able to be revived by your opponent.
This guy's attack is, in my oppinion, is the most devastating in the game. If he hits, it's holy hell for your opponent. They'll be top-decking while facing a DEVASTATING monster.
Then I started thinking about Yamata Dragon and it's drawing power.
And Great Long Nose paired up with Timeater to make your opponent's turn into Draw, Standby, End Phase.
All sorts of evil, evil things.
So now you all guessed it. My 3rd deck will be a Spirit/Turn Disruption deck, white sleeves inside of black sleeves. I'm not sure on whether it will be with or without banned cards yet.
===========================================
I myself have been at arms about who I like better between Newdoria and Dark Jeroid.
I've use Newdoria more than Dark Jeroid, but that's because19 out of 20 decks in my area are either Chaos or Control where not too many monsters are on the field.
I'm going to run Helpoemer tomorrow morning.
As for now, I gotta get some sleep.

New York, NY Homer: Ahh, now to spend some quality time away from my family.
1st- Are you sure about a Spirit not going back to your hand, there, with Hino? I thought this kind of thing had been tried before with other Spirits and that the ruling was that it returns to the field on the following Standby Phase (assuming you used Dimensionhole), but that at the end of that turn, the Spirit would indeed be returned to your hand.
Im pretty sure it follows the pattern of Change of heart vs Snatch Steal, in this case siding with CoH. That means you dont get to keep the monster.
Now, if you were to Summon Hino once, and then be able to slowly use multiple copies of Dimensionhole, then its a game of skipping stones. there is no way your opponent is going to last for long. So, in that way, it is too sick! Now, did they release a Fire type monster that counts as 2 monsters for Tribute Summonings? I feel they did, but I cant think of it.
Point 2- You wrote:

I have tried telling people this works, left and right. I even tried substituting Great Long Nose for Thunder of Ruler. But each time I say it, I get shot down by other people. And I cannot ANYWHERE find a ruling that backs me up on this. help! where do I point them? Where do I find the info myself, by sources that cannot be argued, so that I can copy and paste it in my files and wherever else I happen to be discussing the situation???!!!!!
Oh, there is a 3rd point of topic-
You so eeevvvviiilllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!! I love DimensionHole for the Spirits, for sure. IMT doesnt work because it brings the Spirit back during the End Phase, just in time for it to return to the hand. But Dimensionhole works great. And like you said, unless you can keep IMT on the field for till your following turn, then Dimensionhole works better for keeping the Fusions brought out by MS/SoI. DH also works for those lower Level monsters from SOD to ensure you can get their tribute and summon effects. Things like Red Eyes B. Chick, Horus, Armed Dragon, Mimic, etc.
mm, mm. There is a reason we follow you, Fearless Daddy Dog!
in my fiend deck, i have room for one more mon.....should i use dark jeroid or newdoria.....but i dont use mystic tomato, so which one???
Definatly go with Newdoria. Newdoria is one of the best ways to eliminate another monster. The fact that you can choose what monster to destroy is amazing imo. (Unlike D.D. Warrior Lady)
****************************************
Waldo- Awesome with the Dimensionhole abuse. Ingenious :) But I also have a special request for a fiend reveiw....I would do it myself, but that would just be going against what I stand for. The card...Crass Clown. (Recently I had taken a liking to "bounce") Crass Clown is amazing with all of the tech cards that AST had released (i.e. Labrynth of Nightmare), and sending the monster back to your oppenent's hand is slowing them down by one turn, commonly known as Tempo. Well, this isn't a vocabulary lesson, I'll let you do the analysis. ^_^
I agree Newdoria all the way. People often ask me how i hope to beat them with such a low attack monster then they look on in amazment as their black luster soldier is torna apart by a 1200 atk monster.
I used to run crass clown, he did quite well although i find that unless your sending back a tribute monster it has little effect on your opponent as you using one of your summomons to get him out as well.
sorry envoy, could you paste your whole deck list, some monsters really benifit from Jeroid but it would help if we knew what else was in your deck.
Skull Lair user, i tried out Gren Maju Da iza in my deck once but i found it was much to unreliable, to get him to a decent level of power i had to already have my 2 necrofears out, whichc doesnt happen very often. However it may work well in your deck, it all depends what else you run.
Des- Where ya been? You dont remember back in the early days of this thread, it seems, when I created the 7 Deadly Sins decks? Sloth had to do with abusing the effects of Crass Clown and Giant Orc with Labyrinth of Nightmare. I should bring that back, with some trample monsters, but right now Im concentrating on the Ectoplasmer design
Envoy- newdoria isnt overkill. Its great removal and Necrofood rolled into 1. It provides a slight stall when your opponent has a monster they are afraid of losing, and combined with NA makes options of removal so easy. If your opponent uses some kind of monster removal on Newdoria, then they have much less to counter NA. Besides which, to really abuse NA, you will probably be keeping it in your hand as much as possible, rather than setting it. Structure your searches to Newdoria, and use it and TIV as your main monster removals. NA will become your ammo for resisting Hand destruction and fuel for any discard effect you use.
Thats the best thing about NA. The effects of cards with discards are usually devastating. Thats why they made the cost, to try and curb the use and abuse. NA just gives it back to you.. Lovin it!
Archon and SLU- What?!?! Doubters to the power of Gren maju? Have faith fiendly souls, it is a mean creature. I, myself was amazed at how many variant decks your could make with that card. Rather than spending 40 min writing up its uses, let me make a simple list of SOME of the cards that go with Gren Maju, like jelly does to Peanut Butter: (and Ill keep it as a mainly Fiend concept)
Gravity Bind
Chaos Necromancer
Lava Golem
Inferno Tempest
fire cards
Soul Demolition
Soul Release
Dimension Fusion
Return from Different Dimension
Soul Absorbtion
Miracle Dig
DDWL
Banisher of Light
fiber Jar
Lesser Fiend
Ha Des (well, that goes with everything)
let me stop there, becuase...... well, just because. there are even cards like Big Burn and Disappear, but they arent really necessary to the theme. But whatever you choose to go with Gren Maju, he is definitely a great Fiend. I almost feel like building a deck with 3 copies of all the Maju brothers, just for the heck of it, .
NinjaDuelist- cant find a deck to stick with? That sounds oddly familiar...hmm..... Oh, right~! Im up to 9 different decks at the moment. Ive run out of good cards and started making all common wierdos now, too. :cheeky:
Waldo, that was another great post...I quickly checked my rares to make sure I had Dimensionhole after I read it. I think that was one of the first rares I got. Lol. A use for it, at last! Now I'm looking for a Hino-Kagu. Lol.
Gren Maju, hmm?
I've always liked this little guy. Just let me say two words: Inferno Tempest!
And Banisher of the Light.
In Inferno Tempest this guy is amazing. I toyed with Tempest for a bit, never got it to work quite right however.
Gren Maju's interesting, I just don't use him much.
the deck in my sig is a Gren Maju Da Eiza deck. It works really well for me and is really fun to use because you get a use able god card that will devestate all in its wake. It is so evil. LOL! Please check it out and rate it.
