Alright guys, I'm giving till tomorrow (Wednesday the 9th) for the team to be picked or I'm just gonna pick it. I'm posting a preview of the first mission here also so you guys can get an idea of what yor games are going to be like. Feel free to praise it or rip it a new one as you like. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine
Your first mission is in the universe where the most powerful metahuman on Earth is known as Superman. Superman’s arch nemesis is a man named Lex Luthor, a maniacal baseline human whose intellect is only eclipsed by his evil. At the time I am sending this to you, Superman has disappeared and Luthor is the key to his disappearance. Your job now is to subdue Luthor and get him to reveal Superman’s whereabouts as without Superman, this world will be doomed for destruction. I’ll be porting you into a warehouse where Luthor is currently. He does have a lot of security measures in place so be careful. I have loaded the mission specs directly into your headsets. Here is the initial layout of where you will be touching down:
All walls are lined with enough metal to hold back even Superman and they cannot be broken down. Consider there to be locked doors between D10/E10 and E18/F18.
U Lex Luthor (CJ) 69pts (5/5) - B14 (Primary Target)
Lois Lane – C14 (Innocent Bystander)
LE Hope 33 pts.(5/5) – E10 (Holds Keycard to door between D10/E10)
LE Mercy (Hope) 33 pts (5/5) – F18 (Holds Keycard to door between E18/F18)
V Lexcorp Security 20 pts (5/5) – H11
V Lexcorp Security 20 pts (5/5) – K15
V Lexcorp Security 20 pts (5/5) – M9
V Lexcorp Security 20 pts (5/5) – M18
V Lexcorp Security 20 pts (5/5) – J7
Objectives:
1. Decide on appropriate entry points. You may be put down anywhere outside the building but it is up to you where. You can do whatever you like from choosing to spread your forces out to the far reaches of the map, or clump them all together.
2. Gain access to Luthor’s office. Both Mercy and Hope have keycards that opens doors into the office area. Knock at least one of them out and get the keycard.
3. Enter Luthor’s office. To enter Luthor’s office the character with the keycard must move to the space on the opposite side of the door and stop. (either D10 or E18 depending on which door is entered.) After the door is opened no other character may move into the office until the heroes next turn.
4. Do not allow Innocent to be harmed. Lois Lane cannot be attacked. She blocks LOF as normal, but can be moved through.
5. Defeat Luthor. KO Luthor to get him to spill his guts.
6. (Optional Objective) This objective must be completed before Luthor’s office is penetrated. Once the door to the office is opened the boxes can no longer be searched through. In the warehouse you will see numerous boxes. Within those boxes could be artifacts that may be useful to you. It is your choice whether to search through the boxes or not, as well as which boxes and for how long you look. It requires 2 damage to destroy a box and it does not count toward your allotted actions for a turn, in other words you can move and attack a box in the same turn even if you do not have a move and attack power.
Notes: New objectives can be added, and current objectives may disappear as the mission develops.
Your opponent will not know you are there until they see you and will react accordingly. If you are within 10 squares and in a character’s line of site they will be alerted to your presence. Any of their allies within their range will now also be alerted to your presence.
The Security guards will use their guns when attacking at range but in close combat they will only be using striking moves. If a gunshot is sounded from anywhere in the building the other guards will hear it and come to check it out.
Freakin Shweet scenario! I love it that you're using existing characters. What about object tokens(if we can bring in objects & make it appropriate to the map)? With our headsets can we ask questions? What is known of Luthor, etc? You spoke earlier of bonus points, I assume that all heroclix rules/physics are still in play. That would be awesome if you back the semi into the building and have team pile out the back. Cue the A-team music.........

My votes for additional members:
-Sleeper (Jean_genie)
-Prodigy (HCannonfodder)
-Revenent (petenliz9)
No offense to Hero for Hire, but Lightweight seems a bit too min-maxed for my comfort level, I feel he might overshadow the rest of the team. (Same applies to petenliz9's ADAM-112). But, I don't get the only vote, so we'll have to see what the rest of the core say.
Good gaming guys.

Thanks GL. This looks like it's going to be good. But first we need a team.

Really, I wanted to see how far one could go on 40 points and still be a pog. Maybe once the group is picked, we could make a thread devoted to each scenario concerning strategy. Glad I came home for lunch.

Thanks. I like it too. All scenarios will be like this. This is not a new world where I make up stuff, this is within the comic book universes. You will fight real villains for the most part and team up with real heroes for the most part.
The headsets are solely for the unnamed one to feed you information. If there is a rules clarification needed then you can ask that as well. If there is something special involving the terrain it will be indicated in the initial mission post, or if it becomes usable during the mission it will be relayed as such. So sorry, no truck usage in this mission, at least yet
Yes normal heroclix rules apply, an action per character though instead of a specific limit, so if you face 9 bad guys they each can perform and action, and if you face 1 bad guy he gets 1 action a turn.
Object tokens will be on the map if they are needed for the scenario. If there are no tokens in the scenario then there just are none and SSers just have to wait until a mission when they are in play.
Bonus points are given for both specific actions or if I feel a handler/character did something special. For instance if in a mission your team must basically sacrifice someone for the good of the team, and someone volunteers, that person will most likely get bonus points. As I said before this isn't all about winning the scenario by attacking and KOing your opponents.
*sits down to study the applications, carefully considering the merits and flaws of the potential members*... Ah who am I kidding, I'm not Captain America, and this ain't the Avengers
My votes for the remaining 3 spots goes to:
1.Sleeper (seems like a good character for Daybreak to clash with)
2.Prodigy (I see some interesting story potential in having a kid dragged along on this trans-dimmensional crusade)
3. Phantom (all teams need dark and brooding vigilantees, no?)

So Juggernut gets the deciding vote it seems. Sleeper and Prodigy seem to be a lock, unless Juggernut wants Phanton and Revenent, then its a 4 way tie and I'll have to pick.
How will Stealth be handled? How fast can I move without being spotted?
You've made it clear that gunshots = bad in this scenario.... so if I'm selected, how am I supposed to take a guy out before he can alert people? Can I get some sort of critical hit or backstab effect, or am I basically stuck just sneaking up on him and then punching him in the face? Similar question with throwing things to make noise, etc.
If we have a question that the heroclix rules doesn't resolve, or doesn't resolve in the flavour of the scenario, do we do what we'd do in a regular RPG, or just try to make do with the HCrules?

Well, I guess you called that...
The choice is out of our hands now I guess. But a big welcome aboard to Sleeper, pull up a chair and try not to kill anyone while Daybreak is watching
