I was trying to think of ways to set this off Hooker Bomb style, but since Pulse Wave now requires at least one opposing character to set it off, it's a no go. Oh well. I think Mystics are the best way to handle this strategy. Cosmic Spidey kills himself and then it's Big Figure and a hoard of Pogs against the rest of your army.

Mix in some Mary Jane pogs and a Suicide Squad member to heal CosPlaySpidey . . .
First of all, Outwit Big Figure? Are we assuming this player is a beginner? I am not boasting GENCON CHAMP '11, but that's silly to think BF is just sitting their waiting to be targeted... I think you mean second turn nova-blast. If you did that, I am sure Spider-man would be in range of some people regardless and if you killed 23 jarvi....That's 23 Spider-man attacks. If the Spider-man player was a very good player, it's a good idea to think he saw this coming and put Spider-man in range for most of your pieces anyway, behind blocking of course. Best case scenario, is you kill all the Jarvi, and Spider-man instantly obliterates any enemy within 10. Worst case, you just gave him 23 attacks on your entire team. Good-Game...
The best option I see is the Mystics thus far. Yesyes, Galactus is all kinds of spiffy, but he's 600pts at minimum, giving Spider-man another 100 for whatever he requires. Lets say the tournament didn't specify 'No-Collosals', Galactus loses his Impervious, and Spider-man can sit behind any wall and pop him. His HSS with 14 gives him uncanny maneuverability. To be honest in this situation, I don't see Galactus being that big of a deterrent.
The point is to kill Big Figure with the Nova Blast. Nice thing about Nova Blast is that it will ignore Mastermind. If I was playing Galactus, Big Figure will be the first one to go down if he was not properly protected with mastermind fodder. If he is, then go after Spidey. You got a pretty good shot at taking out Spidey with a Cosmic Multi-attack, and as Galactus, you will have the first shot. After that, who cares if Big Fig gets all those attacks.

183 BB045 The Wizard Shazam!
49 WM019 Big Figure
19 BB012 Amazon of Bana-Mighdall
19 BB012 Amazon of Bana-Mighdall
29 BB007 Checkmate Knight (White)
comes out to 299. Everytime amazon Bana dies you can pb with Shazam, with White enhancment. Or since you'll have Bana upclose you can have them attack with object or with a special ability.
Hmm.
It looks to me like Cosmic Spider-Man can take 5 Mystics damage before it seriously starts to impede his effectiveness.
I don't see it as a viable counter because after Big Figure's turn the opposition will not have anything left.
Yoda of Borg, we are: Futile, resistance is. Assimilate you, we will.
Note to self: When playing the ultimate cheese combo, bring a Snicker bar to throw into the corner to facilitate a hasty escape from the rampaging chubbsters....
I was going to suggest bringing a dozen donuts.... That way you are covered for a few minutes.

Just a question...Big Fig says when a friendly figure is "defeated" then another friendly can make an attack. Wouldn't this only trigger on your opponent's turn?

DEFEATING CHARACTERS
When a symbol appears in a character’s stat slot, that character is defeated. Immediately remove it from the map; it is no longer part of the game.
BYSTANDER TOKENS
A bystander token is a character which does not have a combat dial. Although a bystander token has combat values and follows all rules for HeroClix characters, it does not click. If a bystander token takes any damage, it is defeated.
It works great I used a 200 pt team with living blazer big figure and alot of pogs sure you would need jarvis to do it on the first turn, but it works pretty well either way. hope you enjoy the combo today since its gonna be gone before you ever get to use it again. Which is the only reason I played it figure it would be fun to try once. It is the cheesier than kraft cheese and macaronni.
