His argument is invalid because he bases his comparison very poorly. Using his same argument, there's like a hundred-million-billion thematic teams that are awful and yet somehow it's all the fault of game imbalance or poor design.
My suggestion: play a different game, like one where you pick heads or tails. That's balance.
Nice to see we are all still in agreement. We almost all of us anyway.
Oh, I wouldn't play them in a highly competitive format, but they would do alright in a more fun setting.
This.
Also, I'll try out that team.
And get crushed by something to the tune of WL Sinestro, Odin, and TK+outwit. Since that's what I'll be facing.

Once again.
That vague title "Skilled Player" which is nothing more than a passive aggressive insult towards 'lessers' whom you think are trash at the game.
Also, Aleta being able to shoot an object through stealth isn't the most amazing thing ever.

For me, they lose all the time.

I'm sorry that I don't have a judge to give me theme team bonuses for using Adam Warlock from SI and I want to use a GotG so I use Magus?
I'm also sorry that, at one point or another, run up my 152 point heavy hitting damage reducing piece? I mean, I didn't know Groot was CSM and could just sit in a corner and see-through walls.

Nnnnooo.

Good for you.
Not everyone has weights in their dice though, or seemingly plays people who can't be damned to think "Hm, if I hit Groot for this much, what happens?"
Ah Yes. Skills in Heroclix, apparently hard to achieve.
I know I'm not the best player, but I know I'm not bad and I understand the concept quite well. But, for your argument to work, I'm trash.
So it's ok.

This all started by my assertion that Star-Lord is a decent figure. He took issue with that and the conversation spiraled from there.
Sooo.
You're not arguing fact, but rather your opinions?
Interesting.
Maybe on non-GotG teams, he is.
Which I've said.

So you support my point?
Neat.
I'll be getting to Space Jawa's post in a minute.
Thanks for the thread to sink time in, guys.
I really appreciate it, other forums weren't doing the trick.
And you just let Groot sit there all game and/or had the rest of your team leave him behind?
Of course not.
But it's kind of hard to save him when he can't be moved and can be seen by anyone anywhere.

Nope, can't say I do. Your point is absolutely nowhere to be seen.
It must be hard to be blind.
You have my sympathy.

And yet, you're outnumbered by people that it has apparently worked out for.
Doesn't provide a good argument for the game as a whole.
Yes, someone has already informed me you're all arguing through subjectivity. Not sure how to feel about that.

So maybe you just have bad luck. That doesn't make a strong argument in your favor.
Well, if a team cannot hold it's own through a few bad rolls, what good is there?
It's funny you mention 'bad luck' as I've been avoiding that, since there's a handful of people around who insist on quoting Wikipedia's article on probability.
I've played GotG with decent success. I put Camoflage on Groot, and played on the Arkham Asylum map.
With any team you have to use different tactics to win. You can't play every team like they're the JLA or Avengers. I'm glad they're different. This would be a boring game if you only used HSS, Stealth, and TK every game.
On a side note I used the Wrecking Crew in a 800pt tournament and went 2-1. The round I lost was against the Anti-Monitor. They are not as bad as everyone thinks they are.

And I don't, otherwise Star-Lord wouldn't be behind a wall and would have a 19 dv in hindering.
He doesn't, so I don't play that way.
Groot is a pretty incredible piece. GotG is pretty bangin too.
Just deal with it, HapPoinareff. They're right, you're wrong. Arguing the point ad nauseam makes you look like a contrarian who can't let things go.
GotG is my favorite Marvel team, so I can only wish that were true.
But it's not.
Also, as continually stated, there really isn't any right or wrong anymore. This is all for my benefit, and their own, perhaps.
So, I'm going against the popular majority?
That majority being people who need to be right about everything involving this game?

Fine. its your opinion. There it's Done.
Someone want to close this thread?
I mean at this point noones budging.
Clearly Guardians of the Galaxy is the worse Comic accurate team. They can't win games. what a Shame.
If you don't mind my clearly Superior Parliment of Trees Team Sans Groot will now be in a corner crying because of how "AWFUL" It is relative to GotG because if they're not good why do I even bother playing Swamp Thing...

It's no longer about being right at this point. Look at the language. It's thinly veiled as debate, but actually (and very obviously) contemptuous baiting.
I keep reading simply to try and figure out whether it's so obvious on purpose.

Fantastic.
Sarcasm has worked here before, has it not?
