In the interests of not derailing the other thread any more than it already had been, I think it's time we started a new one.

I don't see what you see.
Or you could make the opponent worry about your other characters.
Or here's a thought - perhaps while they're tearing Groot up, make them wish they had worried about your other characters.

See above.
And the argument is, the fact that Aleta didn't help that much in the first place, and now her tking Groot is gone makes them EVEN worse.
I'm still not seeing a compelling argument. He got shot up when he had TK, he got shot up when he didn't have TK. And apparently, TK didn't make much of a difference either way. So why is there no reason to think that loosing the TK and gaining the bonuses for the rest of the team might not make the team better as a whole?

A man with a skull on his face, robot legs, and a gun.
That has nothing to do with dial accuracy. That is an issue with game balance. If you're going to complain about Skullbuster hurting Superman, you might as well start complaining about 75% of the other figures in the game being able to hurt Superman. Or about 99% of them being able to help KO Galactus.
However, that gives no reason to think that Cosmo will get TK at all, let alone that "Chances are" that he will. There's no basis whatsoever to think that's going to happen at all, let alone that he's more likely to than not.
There is 0 justification for Cosmo to have it. And while Wizkids can make mistakes, they're not that bad.

Groot has no mobility.
Groot is not alone in that regard. Have you considered trying to find other ways to play your team other than focusing on Groot only being able to move 6 unhindered by terrain type squares?

I would have charged in had he not charged in first. I had Gamora, he had War Hulk. I would have attacked him the following turn. Seeing that coming, he came at me first. And she didn't hit with every roll against him, either. Plus she had to do it without Exploit weakness, since War Hulk had Fortitude.
Thus, he saw Gamora as a scarier figure than Groot. Probably saw Rocket Raccoon as a scarier immediate figure, too, since he thought he could take care of the Rodent quickly and deprive me of PC. Which ultimately didn't happen.
He said I was a grown man acting like I'm ten. I would like to know just how old he is. I am 30.
And for the record, comprimise is neither a win nor a loss. it is two sides of a dispute agreeing to disagree for the sake of being adults about things. So, if HAP wants to thing that he WON? That's fine. I would SOOOOOOO love to prove him wrong on the subject, but if he get his tired self to bed tonight because he thought he won, then he is delusional.

Because I don't know if it would be ironic, sad, or funny if he decided to quit just as I started up a thread to stop clogging up the original topic.
On a side note, I continue to notice that the late night not being asleep thing continues to affect me as I should have named this thread GotG vs. TK probably.
Anyway...
Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocking out with their Glocks out! Yay!
20 in May, sire-lord-veteran player.
I'm so sorry I upset you with accusations on your age, I just imagine it happens a lot.
What with how easy it is.
Be with you in a minute, Jawa.
Debating you is not upsetting me. I talk in all caps when I get upset . I couldn't be any more calm. I'm merely using you and your views as a source of enjoyment. I am getting a kick out of debating somebody with such a narrow view of what is right and what is wrong with a team/character/playstyle. I have many different teams and playstyles. Sometimes I even have multiple playstyles per team that I use. If you think that taking out one function of one power nerfs a whole team, then you are showing your inexperience more than I am showing how old I'm acting.

I like this. I might demand to be called this from now on. What do you think, Jawa?

Late game, Groot is shot to death by Superman, Green Arrow shoots Gamora.
Star-Lord is a non-threat. Easily dispatched by Superman/Batman, even whilst being tied up by his CR.
Magus was Superman's first target turn 3 and was outwitted and shot to death by him and Green Arrow.

AGAIN.
Instead of "6 move, shot, 6 move, shot, opponent moves away, shot." it was TK UP, HIT A FEW TIMES, then shot to death. I was hit onto 19 Imperv, they stayed 4 away.

Game Balance, inaccuracy. Either way, you see my point.

I'm too tired to refute that, I'll bring it up later today.

I have.
It doesn't work out to me.

Sooo..
Your opponent missed, lucky.
You rolled Super Senses, lucky.
That's WHY this argument will never end, HC is a luck based game.

Ah, then we have something in common here.
It's also funny because I think the same of you, referring to the "I am getting a kick out of debating somebody with such a narrow view of what is right and what is wrong with a team/character/playstyle." Does it feel nice to be a blissfully unaware hypocrite?
I tend to notice when I am, you don't.
Well, I have only been playing for a year.
But, from what I can see, If the best way to play a team doesn't work, something is wrong.
That, and rolls are God.
It's nice to know people you play against don't think twice when going after Groot behind a wall, but most of those who I play, do.
That, or they roll obnoxiously well all the time. Verjal knows who I refer to.
No this argument will never end because you are narrow sighted and refuse to see that GOTG is not a bad team simply because they lost the ability to use part of a power on one character that is on the team. You also refuse to see that the Guardians are likely going to be an inferior team to teams like the Avengers and the JLA because of an insurmountable amount of options available to the two teams as far as character selection is concerned versus the options that the GOTG have.
Once again I will state that if that is your opinion then you are entitled to it. It doesn't make it right. Our opinions don't make us right either. However, there is a common denominator here which is you versus everybody else.

No.
They were bad before that too. I said that.
Yes, I know they will lose to those teams.
Which is WHY they're bad. They can't even hold a candle.
Which is why I will service the man who sculpts me some good GotG figures.
Really?
What about your "I'm right because I'm right!" bit?
Dropping that now that you remember "Aw man, this is all opinion, isn't it?"
I've yet to flat out say "I'm right." I do think it. But I won't demand I am.
I offer up evidence that you ignore, saying things like "Well, if your opponent makes this mistake, and if you roll Super Senses, and if Groot lands on THIS click. You might do good!"
Let's just stack everything in their favor and say it's a good keyword, shall we? That makes for a good argument, and better yet, it forces me to make an argument that stacks everything against them.
All I know is that I have 90% of the games that I have played the Guardians of the Galaxy with. Can I name you every iteration of said team so that you have "Evidence" of what I played and who I played against? No, I can't because I have played this team often and against many people. Each person I have played is of varying skill level ranging from beginner to "World Champion" level of skill. More often than not it is those "Worlds" people that I am playing and my win percentage is intact.
Is it the "Greatest keyword ever?"
No, it isn't because the options just aren't there like they are for the other afformentioned teams. Is it still a good keyword? Yes.

Yeah, kinda had the feeling you were gonna be dismissive no matter what I supplied. I'm also sorry I didn't give you play-by-play analysis worthy of your time. Why don't we just agree you're incredibly intractable, somewhat boorish to boot, and leave it there...
What he said. (Also another veteran player who has more experience and therefore more insight on the workings of the game as a whole as it has developed)

And, once again, I'll ask.
Rolls.
Opposing teams.
Map.
etc.
I'll quote myself.
You can be the world champ, but if you roll 4 crit misses, you're probably losing.
And considering "World champ skill" apparently consists of 2 Scarlet Witches, 2 Jason Bloods, and Shazam/Black Adam. I can't think much since ANYONE can do good with a team like that.
Or so you would think, anyway.
It's not.
Unless you're playing against, I don't know, a Sinister Syndicate team.
Any GOOD player can shut down Guardians.
It's so easy.
Tie-up star-lord with someone who has damage reducers.
Shoot Groot until he's on toughness with outwit, make a decision. Do I want to stay 4 spaces away from him? Or can I deal 5-6 damage to him?
Rocket Raccoon needs a SS roll.
So does Phyla.
Magus/Adam goes down pretty fast, not matter which you use. Hell, you could block his lof, if it's Adam, and your opponent realizes he's good for his perplex.
Gamora seemingly has the easiest 18 DV to hit in the game, since I've never seen a game where she wasn't dead in two turns, and I've seen plenty of games with her in them.
Most other keywords have some kind of crazy saving grace, I'm not seeing it on Guardians.
Things could go right, and you could win.
Chances are, you'll miss SS, won't hit anything, and lose.
Yeah, kinda had the feeling you were gonna be dismissive no matter what I supplied. I'm also sorry I didn't give you play-by-play analysis worthy of your time. Why don't we just agree you're incredibly intractable, somewhat boorish to boot, and leave it there...
It bears repeating.

There's only so many ways you can go with a plastic miniature game.
I'm sure I'll be a 'veteran player' after my 300th or so game too.
If I don't sell my pieces before the game dies and gain a modest profit.
