WCAvengers turn 12a
Beasts of Myth (Hephaestus' Forge)
"Jan!" Wonder Man was too far away to come to the aid of the winsome Wasp. She had taken a powerful swat from one of these
trolls, and Wonder Man could only hope she wasn't seriously hurt.
Ant-Man, too, had been hit hard. He tried to gather his wits and managed with some luck to distract a huge troll by darting back and forth. He was in survival mode for the moment, hoping to regain sooner rather than later his true advantage: his intellectual prowess.
The Scarlet Witch did what she could, tossing hex spheres at multiple trolls, but there were too many, and they were too strong. "I can't see them all, and I can't..."
Iron Man had a good vantage point on the the battle, too. He turned away from the scene below and looked up at the large, muscular smith, standing impossibly in the midst of the lava. In nigh-desperation, Iron Man pushed himself and fired his repulsor rays in an effort to attract the attention of (what Rhodey thought must be) a god.
< SKRAAAK > Rocks came tumbling down beside the divine smith, dropping into the lava like blueberries into an impossibly large and hot bowl of syrup...
- Ant-Man attacks 'Periphetes'/Ulik (in F12) using Incapacitate > 8 vs 15 > roll: 5+2=7 HIT; 'Periphetes' gets an action token.
- Scarlet Witch attacks Rock Troll 'ADonias' (in B14) > 9 vs 15 +1 (hindering) > roll: 4+6=10 HIT; 'Adonias' takes 2 damage.
- ('free') Iron Man uses Outwit to counter We Follow the Strongest Special Power on Rock Troll 'Adonias' (in B14).
- Iron Man pushes and destroys a square of blocking terrain in H13. Iron Man takes 1 pushing damage.

Warriors of Hades (Agora)
Despite getting mauled horribly by the monstrous sphinx, the Vision turned atound, quickly but not hastily. He made use of his incredible other-worldly capability to adjust his density. "Proceed, comrades," Vision said evenly. "I will endeavor to keep our adversaries occupied."
Hawkeye shook his head inwardly at the lack of emotion Vision showed. "C'mon, Vizh," he said, "this is the stuff of legends here. You have to appreciate that."
Vision feinted from side to side, trying to avoid the sharp claws of the sphinx, and said, "I am familiar with the mythologies of several civilizations. My focus at the moment is helping you fulfill our mission."
Hawkeye had reached Mockingbird, and she said, "He's right, Hawk. We need to keep going, and Sersi seemed to think Hera was our best bet."
Tigra agreed, "That sounds like a good idea to me." She dashed ahead and up a broad and lengthy set of stairs. They belonged to an expansive temple complex...
- Hawkeye leaps to H7.
- Tigra moves to I1.

okay, Gargan, has Tigra moved onto yet another map?...
and perhaps the bigger question (in light of how the trolls are beating down my team): how might Hephaestus react to Iron Man's blast?...
Two story goals met at once!, okay, here we go...
Hephaestus ceases his hammering to shield his eyes from the splash of molten rock and tumbling boulders released by Iron Man's weapon discharge. His interest piqued, the god of the forge beholds the life's work of Tony Stark and issues an impressed grunt.
"The work of a master weapon-smith I do see before me," he proclaims, striding out of the lava pool to make a closer inspection of Rhodey's armor. "Truly, the works of man have grown in leaps and bounds since last I visited the mortal plane. Still, it is far from Olympian. Why, I once crafted Achilles a suit of armor that was the envy of all who saw it..."
"Permit me to put your armor on my forge, warmaker, for it intrigues me. I'd say I could improve it some too!"
(If Iron Man answers "No", continue to play as normal: the Avengers may now leave the map through the upper edge of the map and will move to Venus' Grove)
(If Iron Man answers "Yes", remove him from the board for three rounds: at the start of the fourth round he re-enters play using the ha099 Thorbuster dial at full health. You can choose to have him re-enter play on any unoccupied square of any map currently in play: if you choose to do so, mark the square that Iron Man emerged from: the Avengers can travel between the upper edge of this map and the square that Iron Man emerged in as though they were adjacent.)
Meanwhile, Tigra sneaks up the stairs into Hera's temple...
"Unhand me, base usurper!" comes an imperial, womanly voice echoing through the dimly lit marble columns.
"Hera, my sweet, why do you flee from me so?" comes the reply. "For ages your lips held not but insults and complaints about our brother Zeus. Now that he has fallen you should be a merry widow indeed!"
"Merry? How can I know happiness while Olympus lies in turmoil and war?" the woman's voice nearly wept.
Tigra skulked closer to the source of the conversation, slinking with cat-like ease around great golden urns and banks of beautiful funeral bouquets. Then, peering over the edge of a raised dais she beheld with mortal eyes the affairs of the gods.
"Ares' strength will crumble as soon as a proper ruler steps forth to quell this chaos. He has only achieved the success he has with my aid, so if I should lend my support to our cause instead..."
"What do you mean 'our cause', graveworm?" Hera demanded with distaste.
"We shall be married, of course! At last the celestial and infernal realms will be united in peace, under our banner! With the strength of my dark armies we can end Ares' martial law in Olympus, and with the power of the pantheon behind me I can annex the province of that fool Mephisto. And perhaps Marduk's as well..."
"Always thinking of your coffers, Pluto."
"Oh Hera, you do me an injustice! Ours may be a marriage of convenience at first, but you will learn to love me in time..."
"Think again, foul soulmonger!" Hera declares, bringing her hand to Pluto's face for a slap but having her blow deflected by the underworld god's flabby arm.
"O-kaaay, not sure if I want to get in the middle of that soap-opera..." Greer says to herself, backing away into the shadows. Scouting around the edge of the temple Tigra is elated when she sees their goal within reach: Hera's temple is connected directly to the solar shrine of Apollo above! But can she get to it without alerting the feuding gods to her presence?
Special Rules:
- Shadows: Figures may not draw lines of sight to other figures more than 6 squares away.
-Hera is considered friendly to the Avengers and is part of Mikeinmke's force, except that she cannot leave this map.
-Shadows cannot take actions to move from their current locations. If at the start of his turn Pluto can draw a line of sight to any Avengers, this rule is nullified for the rest of the game.
-Avengers characters with the flight ability can exit the map from row-1 of the map, to move to the Solar Shrine of Apollo.

The attacks by Wasp's fellow Avengers was, fortunately for her, enough to distract them.
"First we smash them too, THEN we eat!" Periphetes shouted. It was enough to get Cartosus to drop the woman, convinced he could come back for her later. But as shortsighted as they were, her eventual disappearance would go completely unnoticed by all of them.
In the meantime, the trolls had plenty of other Avengers to try smashing. Cartosus, eager to get back to what he expected to be a meal that he would still be able to eat later - or at least fight for, moved forwards and swung at Moon Knight. The white-clad hero never saw it coming, and was thrown backwards from the punch, right towards the waiting arm of Adonias.
The fellow troll, seeing what was happening, held his arm out right at head-level as Moon Knight flew at him, effectively clotheslining him from behind. Moon Knights flight path was cut short as his head impacted the inhuman creatures arm, his body swinging upwards before gravity pulled him back to the ground. It was enough to knock his senses out of him, if only for a moment.
But even if he did have enough in him to avoid loosing consciousness entirely, he was still suffering from a massive case of being punch-drunk. He knew where he was, who he was, and what he was supposed to be doing, but only barely, and he would be suffering from the problem of his body telling him he couldn't continue for the near future.
Ant-Man wasn't spared the assault, either. One of the Trolls, left with no apparent closer enemy, leaped forwards and tried to smash the pint-sized scientist. While Pym easily evaded the attack, his senses weren't quite what they normally were, making him easy prey to the attack that followed from the opposite direction. Much like Jan, he too found himself unconscious, and could only hope that he, too, would vanish from the battlefield before the worst happened.

Rhodey paused. He knew Tony had put an immeasurable amount of work, blood, sweat, and tears into the Iron Man armor. He considered him his friend; heck, Tony had put his life on the line to save Rhodey's. At the same time, this was a god - essentially asking Rhodey for a favor. Besides, Tony had been acting sort of strange with all of his secretive labs and scheming... Rhodey could hardly believe what he had seen and experienced as Iron Man, but maybe this god could clear up the headaches that Tony seemed to think were coming from the suit's cerebral interface...
"Okay," Rhodey blurted out impulsively, "but you have to help my friends down there. Those trolls are beating them to crumbs!..."
- Iron Man agrees to Hephaestus' proposal and surrenders his armor to Hephaestus for divine inspection...

The monsters wreaking havoc across the heavenly Agora closed in upon the Avengers. It was evident that Artemis was right: This was a fight the Avengers could hardly hope to win.
Sersi cried to the others, "Fly, you fools!" She felt the mystical energies of Hecate assaulting her and lashed out, returning the attack.
Mockingbird and Hawkeye did not want to leave Vision and Sersi behind, but they could see that even Sersi's heavy blow against the serpent-monster had little effect. They saw that Vision was now confronted by two hideous creatures of incredible might, and they remembered that the entire world was threatened by the demise of Ra, the sun god. They leapt away after Tigra....
- Sersi uses Telekinesis to hurl the HO in D15 at Hecate > 8 vs 16 > roll: 5+5=10 HIT; Hecate takes 1 damage and suffers knockback to I11.

"Okay," Rhodey blurted out impulsively, "but you have to help my friends down there. Those trolls are beating them to crumbs!..."
Hephaestus narrows his eyes at Iron Man, galled that a mortal would dare to demand a bargain from a god. The gods of Olympus are a capricious and haughty lot, and many a prideful mortal that flew too close to their realm in the heavens was struck down for his impertinence. The smith-god's nostrils flared with a deep intake of hot volcanic air, raised his trunklike arms and his mighty hammer high...
"HAW HA HA HAW HO HOO!" Hephaestus bellowed, clapping Rhodey on the shoulder with such strength that he would have been knocked over were it not for the reinforcement of his armor. "Aye, well met. The trolls can be a nuisence indeed. The thing to remember where mountain trolls are concerned-" Hephaestus slammed his hammer down upon his anvil with force to shatter diamonds, creating a catastrophic din. Rhodey's armor registered it as a low-grade sonic attack, and his teammates were all wincing in pain. But their discomfort was nothing compared to the apparent agony of the trolls, who clutched their heads and writhed in pain.
"Sensitive ears!" Hephaestus concluded, passing Rhodey a quick wink.

Free) Sphinx riddles the Vision, needing a 4 and getting a 5. It rolls the chosen number one time, giving Vision an action token...though it may be more from the physical damage than any clever riddlin.
Free) Hecate uses her magic to counter Sersei's flight, again.
1) Hecate wraps herself around the Sphinx's neck. Sphinx breaks with a 4 and runs to G12/F12, swiping at Vision along the way with it's giant reach. Hecate slithers into the bushes at G11. Sphinx needs a 4 to hit Vision. Hits with double 2s but Vision's ultra dense body protects him with an impervious roll of 5. No damage.
2) The Gorgon paws at the ground with its hoofs before charging to I11. Needs a 4, collides with a 7. This time, the Vision isn't so lucky. His impervious roll is a 1 and he takes 3 damage after impervious for the KO. Push click to Gorgon.

You're absolutely right. I forgot to subtract the 2 for carrying Hecate.
Gorgon will stay the same. Sphinx will shift two to the right (H12/I12) and still be able to drop Hecate in the same spot.
