You know what, with an hour left of a 84 hour phase and 40% of the players not having checked in once, I'm calling it. This game just doesn't work without full participation.
Good job, adamical, Silver, and TSP, you're all winners, even though you have three different win conditions.
adamical - started off as the Paranormal Investigator, was given the wolf card by Afrcngy (Alpha Wolf), then viewed Carlos (as Mystic Wolf). So he was, indeed, a wolf (but from Afrcngy, not his PI role).
TSP - started as Witch, viewed Insomniac in the middle, gave it to himself.
Silver - started Tanner, stayed Tanner.
I really appreciate your participation, and I'm sorry I couldn't put on a better game for you. Believe me, I'm quite frustrated. I thought One Night would be a good way of running games for the few players we seem to have left, but apparently not.
Yeah, sorry. There was little motivation for me to participate as the alpha wolf. I had no information to share and posting would have led to pressure to claim. With a couple people not claiming until others did, and with the limited roles, the chance to screw up a claim was really high. Adamical made a smart move claiming, but then was pinged as a wolf when Silver revealed to be the real tanner.
Yeah sorry about that Bob, I wouldn't take it personal. No idea what happened to Mucha. My guess is he hasn't been on the realms.
Re: the game, so Tanner is like an SK win condition right, in that they can only win alone? Or can Tanner & Wolf/village share a win?
Also, Adam, I may be wrong, but from what I have gathered players take their original actions but it happens in order of operations (something I missed until well into my first game), which really is the key to figuring out who is what.
Which leads me to the following:
Quote
1) Alpha Wolf - Afrcngy swaps Adam with Wolf.
2) Mystic Wolf - Carlos view another player’s role.
3) Seer (Villager) - N/A
4) Paranormal Investigator (Villager) - Adam (now the WOLF from center) views Carlos, and presumably gains his win condition, which he already had from Afrcngy.
5) Witch (Villager) - The Witch may views Insomniac, and takes it for himself.
6) Troublemaker (Villager) - N/.A
7) Insomniac (Villager)- In the Center, TSP takes for himself.
The following players don’t wake up at night:
8) Tanner (Other) - SL.
So a few things.
Is my understanding of the resolution of actions correct?
TSP, as a villager, why wouldn't you make someone else Insomniac to boost the village's #s?
Also, curious how it would have played out if Adam believed TSP even after Afrcngy admitted to being Wolf. Guessing Adam may have thought it was a ploy and stuck with TSP. In that case, would village have won, presuming TSP & Adam voted Afrcngy, and Carlos and Afrcngy voted for TSP (assuming I didn't give one majority)?

That is the interesting things about this game, in that pressure really doesn't mean much, it's all a #s game. So from what I can tell you need to lie to convince others (or tell the truth if you're being truthful) that they need to side with your side because you share a win con. So unlike regular mafia. It's fine to say, hey I am wolf, but because you're wolf too, you should vote with me.
My point is that pressure doesn't really mean much since we only vote once, it's not like they have anything over your head. It's do or die at the time of voting, so that dynamic is very different from a regular mafia game. Notice how I played (and I am not sure if I played it right as tanner, since obviously TSP figured it out pretty quickly) as I didn't care if I was pressured or not.
I guess I should have lied about being Seer or something early on. The problem is that in my mind I needed to draw enough suspicion or "get busted in a lie" to get people to think I was wolf, so as to get lynched. Tanner seems like a tough role to play.
Totally different game if JoH was playing instead of Mucha.

Well, except that the Troublemaker or Witch could have swapped your role, in which case you wouldn't be a Wolf anymore. And even as the Alpha Wolf, in this setup it's possible for a wolf majority, which would also be something you'd want to figure out, so you could all coordinate a vote on a villager.

Tanner and village can share a win, if both a Wolf and the Tanner are lynched. Tanner and Wolf can't share a win (thematically, the Tanner is too stinky for the wolves to eat).

Correct! This is really the essence of the game - you do actions based on who you are at the beginning of the night, and you win based on who you are at the end of the night.

Yes, those were the actions. Ironically enough, Carlos also viewed adamical.
Won't speak for TSP here, but it's a tricky choice. On the one hand, giving it to somebody else does increase the town. On the other hand, with Alpha Wolf you could have been converted, so there's an argument for making sure you're town (barring Troublemaker, of course).
And finally yes, if at least one wolf dies the village wins.
I figured I could realistically lie easily about who I switched it with, so I gave myself Insomniac to prevent any Alpha Wolf shenanigans. I don't know why I was waiting to tell who I switched with, it basically works just the same either way. Waiting for seer kind of just verifies my lying intentions.
So you can lynch any number of people? How do you lynch two people at once?
A tied lynch results in the death of everyone. The most easily exploited mechanic in the game. Can you imagine if we had that in normal mafia? Four lynches a day.
