One Night Mafia 3: The Good, The Bad, and the Mafia (game thread)
Rules!
1) You may NOT send a PM to anyone about this game unless your role explicitly says you can. This is cheating.
2) Do NOT edit your posts in this thread. This is cheating.
3) Please do not copy-and-paste anything from any PM I send you to the thread. This is also cheating.
4) While this is similar to regular mafia, this is an individual game. Your goal is to achieve your win condition. This may or may not coincide with the win conditions of other players.
5) A list of possible roles will be posted at the beginning of the game thread. Each player receives a randomly determined role at the beginning of the game via PM. Three of these roles will remain unclaimed, and will be denoted as LEFT, CENTER, and RIGHT. They will not be revealed.
6) The first phase of the game is the night phase. The game thread will remain closed while night actions are accomplished via PM. Roles 'wake up' and perform their actions in a defined order laid out in the roles list.
7) After all night actions are performed, the thread will be open and the day phase begins. Players will have 36 hours to discuss.
8) Once the day is over, the thread will be closed and players will PM their votes to the mod. The player receiving the most votes is lynched. If multiple players tie, they are all lynched UNLESS every player receives exactly one vote. In that case, nobody is lynched. All players must vote for another player - no abstaining or "no lynch" votes are allowed.
9) Winners and losers are determined after the lynch. IMPORTANT: win conditions are determined by what your role is at the end of the game, NOT your initial role.
Roles (in night action order)
Werewolves learn the name of the other wolves (but don't otherwise communicate). If there's only one wolf, they may look at one of the roles in the center. They win if no werewolves are lynched.
Villagers win if a werewolf is lynched OR no werewolves are present and nobody is lynched.
Other players have special win conditions as listed in their role.
1) Alpha Wolf - There is an additional Werewolf role placed in the center (here labeled WOLF). The Alpha Wolf may swap any other player’s role with this card.
2) Mystic Wolf - The Mystic Wolf may view another player’s role.
3) Seer (Villager) - The Seer may view another player's role OR two of the roles in the center.
4) Paranormal Investigator (Villager) - The Paranormal Investigator may view the roles of up to two other players, one at a time. If they view a Werewolf or Tanner, they may not view any more roles, and become a Werewolf or Tanner, respectively. They are a Villager - UNLESS they view a Werewolf or Tanner, in which case they use the win condition for those roles.
5) Witch (Villager) - The Witch may view any role in the center. If they do, they must swap it with a player’s role.
6) Troublemaker (Villager) - The Troublemaker chooses two other players and swaps their roles (without viewing them).
7) Insomniac (Villager)- The Insomniac wakes up at the end of the night and views his role.
The following players don’t wake up at night:
8) Tanner (Other) - The Tanner wins if he dies. If he dies, the Werewolves cannot win; if he dies and all werewolves are in the center, nobody else wins.
