Not All Decks Attack, and those that due very few of them plan to do much attacking on turn 4+ where Beatdown is neccary, and in those even fewer favor +5 over the smaller number with other effects,
EomE is for Teams that like to have certain Characters on certain turns, which almost everydeck I can think of does. I mean SqS needs to hit 4 (was sorta a prob before EomE) to really clinch the turn 5 win.
Savage is really just another Pump in a land full of Pump, (the real Problem with the Fast meta, like a 12-1 Ratio of attack pumps to Def Pumps prob even higher) Where as EomE is A generic Searcher where there are only like 3 others and they arent Exactly even Good Options.
it is bad for the game because it makes other search cards look bad, we need some kind of errata on EOME to make it harder to search for characters, something like
"As an additional cost to play Enemy of My Enemy, discard a character card.
Search your deck for an affiliated character card that does not share a printed affiliation with the card you discarded "but share the same team affiliation." Reveal that card, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck.
This will making it hard to just search for any card you want because you actually need to team-up.
actually, it doesn't make other searcher cards look bad, i mean bat signal and wild ride r still the best, the only searchers it make look bad r woc, secret origin, and signal flare
the card is perfect the way it is, its balance, it would be broken if u could search for unaffl characters as well
thanks for the sarcasm buddy, that's just my argument though (as it was asked for). Obviously toolboxes will be possible, but my meaning is that it will become unavoidable.

It makes other searchers look bad because of the fact that it allows you to tailor your deck for any number of things.
Think about it. I can now run Fizzle just because I have gotham characters, that I never EVER have to play. I can do other things that allow you to discard a character because that character may or may not ever see play serves two purposes. and if he sees play three purposes.
It allows you to toolbox for almost any character. I can play the most broken characters at every drop, because I have EOME

Seems good to me. How about we wait until Sunday night, and then see what it actually does to the environment. Simply having 32 copies on Day Three means nothing. If those eight decks are all the same archetype, we might have a problem... but right now we are playing "mental Vs." Sure, that is my personal specialty - but I have never thought it should dictate the direction of the game.
I think if there are 32 copies of a card on day 3 it is trying to say that there can be a real problem with a card being overpowered. There weren't 32 copies of Bastion, but it definitely warranted something.
Seriously though. I think that EOME will allow a lot of things, but only time will tell if it gets broken.
50% of why bastion was so good was due to Overload. Bastion is still good, but balanced out thanks to System Failure.
I think EOME shouldn't be banned, however restriction isn't a bad option. I myself don't really see that much of a problem with it.
There are searchers now that just about give you near "EOME" ability, Soverign Superior, Join the Club, Bloodhound, and Mysterious Benefactor. They are team and mechanic restricted but there are still plenty of options between them.
having a seasrcher like enemy is good for several reasons, most predominantly:
1) it opens doors, you can play any crazy combo you like, a feat that could not be accomplished before enemy which adds to diversity and is good for the game.
2) it lets you tech, you can splash a mikaod or a hawkeye to stave off rush decks and whats wrong with that? I think being able to search for answers give more decks and more unknown decks a good chance iof winning.
My only beef with the card is its price, 30-50 for one is too high for a single card and can scare away newbs, which is definitely a bad thing.
well, let's get the topic from the analytic point, EOME breaks one of the most important(or the most) foundation of the game, dependability on affiliations for having some kind of consistency, that's the only thing bad about it, but for the other side, EOME enables a LOT of new decks that weren't even thinkable before it, it maybe more expensive than the same beatdown, but if u have some, like 3, for the sake of luck, any player that is a little innovative can make his less than good deck, into a consitant deck that can at the least be competitve at ur hobby league, and like HV, win u a 10k, so, unlike the others that, like me, have no EOME, i think it's a perfectly healthy card for the game, that can mean a myriad of new, innovative ideas, making them somekinda playable, so, while u have it(or don't) just enjoy the game
Originally posted by JazzWitherspoon Enemy is bad for the competitive game. The idea behind the card, and it's practical applications in a casual environment are astounding. But you only have to look to High Voltage (and to some extent, the rest of the current metagame) to see the potential the card has to ruin the game. The card has already helped completely ruin two of the most basic strategies of the game - reinforcing and team attacking - because there's just no reason to use them anymore. Why bother when you can consistenly pull the best/strongest/fastest drops in the game out of your deck and just win on turn 4 or 5?
Nothing's out of control yet, but as the card pool expands, Enemy is just going to help make games get faster and faster. Again, this is mostly a competitive problem, but it will start to hurt the growth of the game when people start whipping out their netdecked turn 3 win decks at Hobby Leagues and other casual hang outs to smash some fun janky New Gods deck or something.
It's simply amazing how many people want to go back to Mono Team decks in the game. EoME has done more for the game than any single card. It made worthless teams that were created before UDE knew what they were doing useful again.
If you ban or restrict EoME we go back to the same stale environment of 4 or 5 decks at the competitive level. The field now is blown WIDE open with so many different teams being played that were never even considered playable.
If your issue is the price then you are simply playing the wrong game. CCG's are built upon the premise that some cards are just going to be more valuable and harder to get than others. Not everyone is going to have the same cards or be able to afford those cards. That's why these games have alternate formats like SEALED DECK and DRAFT. /sigh
