Rokk, Gfish, other Colorado players.. Will any of you guys be going to the ROC states? I will be in twon the week of memorial day and look forward to attending!
I've actually never played in a Clix tournament despite obsessive buying of the figures so I hadn't considered. If you're going to be around, I might give it a try. (There are also a few other folks from CO, most notably from this sub-forum, Immortal Raven).

Yes! In fact I've actually got another game I want to run soon, but since Stranger and I_R should be starting games in the next couple of days I figured I'd wait at least a couple days to post signups.

I'm not from Colorado, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to note that as soon as the next rotation hits I won't own anything Modern-legal anymore. In fact, I'm thinking about selling off my collection and using it to help start collecting the new Game of Thrones LCG.
When and where in Colorado is the Roc? I don't really play clix anymore as it's too big a time and money commitment. if I attended, it would be as a spectator

If you want, IR, I could ship you any figures you would want to bring with you to compete. It's not likely I'll be there but consider an "in spirit" team-up.

All three nominees are great. As someone who's been there, I'm going to back Ice because he has a passion to be there and to keep up with things you need that. Besides, I believe in supporting the person who asks for something. (Not a slam on JoH - one of my best buds - or gfish - someone whom I hope to hang out with more RL - as both are solid and I'll even admit JoH's playstyle fits better; just that the person who wants something enough to request it is going to play with a little more drive).
I'm just trying to sound like I'm not excited so I'll look cool. Cool people aren't excited about things, right?

My thanks, but I should have elaborated. I wouldn't really want to play unless it's a sealed event. I dislike powergaming and although it's not why I left clix, it's made me not miss it. I guess some power gamers have come into my former venues and driven away a lot of folks. Several folks have asked me and a couple others to come back and beat the power-gaming jerks since we were recognized as quality players. It's just not an atmosphere I want to be in since I don't like it in general and I don't like the person it turns me into. I suppose it will be even at the tourney but some people take it way too seriously. In my old age (32), I've mellowed out quite a bit and I don't care for the bloodthirst. I'll compete at a game, but it's not the end of the world if I lose. not trying to lambast anyone here, but the power gamers I mentioned I will happily lambast. And I don't think they're actual gamers, but that's a different can of worms.
A sealed event though, that's where anyone can compete. I do play a sealed every once in awhile to get pieces for my son and I to play with. Plus it's not trying to collect every set. It's $20-40 every couple months. I can swing that in addition to my other hobbies.
I think I'll step aside and vote for both GFish and JoH.
I would also love to nominate Kontrol.
Any reason why you are going to step aside? Not enough time?
Also, I would like to hear from JoH: is he interested?
And also, I would like to ask folks to vote for who they want to send.

Yes, sealed events were always better. I'm pretty sure I don't have anything legal anymore, though I still have a few pieces.
It's Colorado, I thought y'all were pretty broad in terms of legality there.
We're never going to live that down are we? For the record, I made money off of that stuff long before it was legal. My roommates liked to get high and it was easy to convince them that they owed me money when they were.

So I'll ask again, when and where is it?
I too am a big fan of sealed events. Not sure when or where quite yet..

They don't call it the mile high city for nothing lol.

Good point! Its 5280 feet above sea level. That is the main reason.
Yeah, and it's kind of low altitude compared to a lot of the state. I sit at around 6800 feet in Colorado Springs but drop to about 6000 when I get to my office. Yay for topography.
And as much as we've made headlines for marijuana legalization, Colorado is also becoming craft beer central. So many new (and excellent) local breweries popping up. And no, I'm not talking about Coors.
