Hard to tell from just a poster, but I could see them making him a giant (since Garthan Saal got big, powerful, AND crazy).
True.
I'm hoping he's something I can at least treat as generic* on large enough forces, because I don't expect his trade value as a specific named figure to be very strong. The place I buy from is treating them the same we he did the brick figures, telling us that two will come with a case... so I'll have 4 of them when the time comes.
* Much as I'll be treating the Hulk Robot in next week's set as one. I may be doing the same thing with John Jameson and Man-Wolf as they could be fun to run as a pack of werewolves.

Absolutely. We had to "make our own generics" for years so we can continue if something gets left out. heh heh I STILL say (been saying this forever) they should release packs of generics (werewolves, nazis, robots, whatever!) here and there. Sure, not everyone is going to want a box o'zombies or pack of robots, but those of us that do will snatch them up!

Right!
That was the failed not-quite-promise of Horrorclix, and the reason I bought a starter and a brick of the first set. However, "85% compatible" meant about as much in terms of Clix as a similar genetic match would mean for transplant purposes. After a few attempts to adapt them (mainly by discounting the printed cost of the Horrorclix piece and running the Horrorclix pieces by some of the Horrorclix rules (action each turn with no pushing damage) they went back into the shoebox I was storing them in... where they remain to this very day.
Some say, if the wind is just right, just past midnight you can hear Tuttle laughing. (Okay, I can't recall if Horrorclix was his baby or not...)
Anyway, yeah, that's why I kept all my M-11s, Korgs, Mieks, etc. As far as I'm concerned, they're generic robots/aliens.
I've been playing Silent Hill Homecoming a lot in the last week or so and I still can't tell what to think of it exactly. The monster designs are amazing, more so even than in the other games, but it's way too hard for a horror game at this point. There were sections that I had to try a dozen times, and nothing kills horror like knowing where the monster is hiding because you've already been killed by it over and over today.

Sup Ogres. Got a 6 pack of LOTR earlier when I picked up my comics. Got Eowyn, Aragorn, Boromir, Frodo, Merry or Pippin, and Shagrat. Not bad but I'm hopefully getting some others from a local.
Sitting here studying some and working on my schedule for next semester. It'll be the first semester that I won't be able to take any online classes so it'll be a busy semester. I'd love to get everything on 2 days, but my stupid Math 107 lab is only offered on Friday and Thursdays while my Accounting classes are only offered on MW. Boooo. Oh well, looks like it'll be 3 days for me next semester.
This morning I got in some DC Universe Online in while the little one slept. Completed a very cool mission where I assisted Circe by going and battling the Teen Titans in order to corrupt Raven and help free Trigon.
It's like Michael Jordan going to the YMCA to play basketball.

Local? To the Shire? Mordor?
The pieces really do look fun - I've gone so far as taking a better look - but I'm managing to hold myself in check. So much I already have that are waiting for me to play them, and so much more on the way next week! Good luck filling out the collection and getting a chance to play them!

Oof! It's one thing if one can just be a student, but having to juggle the rest of adult life and obligations... It's unfortunate they haven't managed to work those into online formats.

I was on the fence at first, but I've fully hopped onto the LOTR train. I figure if Street Fighter made it into Modern Age, that they are likely to as well. I'm actually curious as to what other properties we might see on their way in 2012.

I'm actually surprised that some of the general business classes I need to take aren't online. My last school offered Accounting online, but I fully believe that should only be face to face as it's just too hard to learn from an online environment.

As long as I kept a read on where she jumped to I was able to get her.
I'm actually really enjoying that game. I've finally started getting some better gear so my DPS and things are going up. My next mission (should I choose to accept it, although it's from the Society so I don't think saying no is an option) is to take on Ultra-Humanite on Gorilla Island as he's corrupted all the Gorillas there. I also defended Area 51 from Braniac as he was attacking it trying to steal some Kryptonite that they have there.

I'm planning to play an Avenging Spider-Man team this weekend. 600 points.
Red Hulk 155 + Swingline 10
Spider-Man 78
J. Jonah Jameson 26
Rupert 85 + Stunning Blow 10, Getaway 4, Extended Range 10, Darkness Within 15, Not So Special 3
SI Moloid x6
V Moloid x3
E Moloid x7
R Moloid x5
I'm hoping I can appeal to the judge for comic-accurate theme action so I don't lose map roll and get stuck with Krakoa.
What would be a good map for this team? I suck at map choice.

I'm seeing some of the people pressing for answers that aren't there in that regard -- whether or not LotR will become part of Modern Age, and whether or not Horde Tokens are acceptable in MA. It's one of those areas where the Rules Arbitrators definitely have my sympathies.
Street Fighter was an easy pass for me, as the characters mean nothing to me. Were I to pick them up it would be mainly as generic, martial arts-trained henchmen for someone.
LotR settings and characters -- For now I'm content to leave them in the only place where I really enjoyed them: The movies. If I should suddenly come up with great amounts of easy, stress-free leisure time I might consider getting into them, but as it is I have a sizable list of Marvel and DC teams I've yet to field. It would just be clutter here.
I'd be more likely to incorporate Halo and/or Gears of War pieces ahead of LotR, because many of them would blend better thematically (I'd pretty much be treating all of them as generics of one sort or another) and I know they would be more appealing to some of the people I'm likely to play games with at home.

I've enjoyed some of what I've seen of it (around this time last year, when they were in beta testing and it was open access, this was getting considerable play by one son in particular at home) but I haven't taken the plunge. As with so much else, I'm not sure where the time would come from!

It's what's kept me only playing sporadically right now. I'll play some in the mornings when my son takes a good nap or at night if I don't have any homework and the wife goes to bed early. Now, after next Thursday and my finals are all over, then I'll really start playing more. I'll be downloading the Green Lantern expansion next weekend and diving full force into it.

I really need to try and play it some more. I've only played through escaping Braniac's ship and beating up some aliens to get myself to the "home base".
Hello Brother Ogres, I got in my first 900 point LOTR epic battle today. Just a few thoughts:
- The Horde tokens are a Blast! Effective and fun- a great idea. Their regenerating is perfect! I can't wait to try these in a more traditional game.
- The bad guys are way stronger, and way cooler, than the good guys. Of course, I am awaiting Gandalf (who is very necessary for the Fellowship), Sam, and Sarumon to finish the set so I cannot say I had the full experience but ran with what I had. I hope to have them all arrive by the beginning of next week. I also want to try again without Sauron as he may be the clix that will always tilt the power toward the no-goodniks.
- Legolas is good, real good. He hit the hardest and most effectively by far.
- It was a long game and there is a lot going on. I can't imagine having this be a new player's introduction to the rules of Heroclix. It's not a complaint, however, just an observation of how much was happening in one game.
- I'm now re-watching the third movie as a refresher. 200 minutes does seem a bit bloated though. I figure I will cut out the last thirty.

Ooh, that sounds fun. Mutantwolf, care to play a big Epic game tomorrow? One of us needs to use nine Ringwraiths.
