As the Goblin Queen makes her final stand she casts energies wildly about at her opponents.
The Beast skirts Jane Foster away from a stray bolt, "Sorry for trying a pick up on you, Nurse Foster. Can't be helped."
Another bolt misses Spider-Man by inches, "Yeooooooooooooow! What got into her anyway? She's all of a sudden a mean, lean, death ray machine."
Dr. Fate speaks out, "Not a death ray. Nightmare is using her corporreal form as a last attempt to regain control of his nightmare world."
Arywn looks confidently, "Well we'll just have to stop him, won't we?". And she releases a few arrows upon the Goblin Queen with devasting effect.
Before she can recover Ghost Rider adds to Arywn's attack , "Do us all a favor, sister, and just play dead, k?" His hit is precise and final.
Madeline Pryor and Nightmare scream simulateneously, "Nooooooooooooooooo!" with his voice forcefully dominant.
Energies crackle and dissipate. Dr. Strange is his astral form rises among the energies and gently smiles to his team, letting them know they had indeed won a great victory.
Then suddenly it's Billy home again. Saul gets up from the floor and lifts off his space helmet he coughs, "What happened?"
Billy lifts up his Spider-Man mask, "You fell, dummy."
"I did? I don't remember."
Billy begins to speak but then, like the other children, gets a vague sense of confusion as to what just occoured.
Suddenly Billy's mom yells out, "OK kids. Pumpkin pie is ready, come on down for dinner."
And as a childs mind shifts from one event to another the war in Nightmare's world dissapears to the back of their minds with other greater, grander adventures waiting there to repalce it.
Nice game. And your timing is good. Finished it right on Halloween. Okay you had a couple of hours to spare which goes against the whole saving the day at the last minute principle of comic books, but still, would have been hard to get too much closer on that.
