Crusher was the best, IMO. In fact, TNG had the best characters, hands down. So good, that I can overlook the episodic nature.
Well since you admit you have not even seen one episode of TOS, I'll take that with a grain of salt. IMO, the characters from TOS are way more compelling than anyone else as a group. There is not one character I dislike from TOS main 7.

Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration. I never understood the love TNG gets. Other than Picard and Riker the characters are awful. It is SO PAINFUL TO WATCH. It has some interesting concepts but I'd rank TNG as the worst of the three series I have seen any significant portion of.
Riker? Ugh... Riker is the most boring bore full of boredom to ever exist. Tasha and Wesly suck. Deana Troi is the biggest waste of space to ever step foot on a starship. Crusher is meh, other than for her MILF factor.
Geordi and Worf are cool, but not very dynamic.
You know who made TNG? Data & Picard! Those are the two best actors on that show, hands down.

Speaking of Breaking Bad....I know I'm way late on this but rewatching the opening of "Negro y Azul" with the Mariachi Music Video and this is really bugging me: how is the guy with the electric guitar playing "normally" despite not being plugged in to anything out in the middle of that scrubland?!?
That is an ancient Aztec mariachi mystical secret, which has been often used to bedazzle gringos, who as we all know are a cowardly and superstitious lot. Beware the forbidden, eldritch lore that is contained in the dreaded grimoire known as the "Negro-y-Azul-nomicon." Beware, I say!!!

Ancient Aztec Mariachi Brujo, actually, but same thing really.

I believe they later explain that he's a cyborg with a chest amp.

Data is by far the worst of them all. I cant STAND him. Also Geordi doesn't become cool until First Contact when he finally ditches the dumb ass visor. Ugg. Visors are the lamest accessory ever. Part of why I hate Cyclops so much.

Most people I know like Data, but there's always that one guy...

Two guys....
...but I'm also not a huge Spock fan (even if I did geek out over how in the closing credits for the latest Trek film they just did Nimoy's name in big font and didn't even give a character as if "You're at the wrong film if you don't know him.") Admittedly some of that may be backlash towards Nimoy's "I am Not Spock" phase as I hate it when actours bite the role that fed them (hey, Duchovny, I'm talking to you too). That and, well, he wasn't as cool as....okay. Okay. I'll stop.
As for Data, I could've just been watching the wrong episodes or read so many Avengers comics over the years that "the android who wants to cry" bit was annoying to me. I admit he was better than most of the rest of the cast (I think you pretty well pinpointed my view on all of them).

I could see it being hard to watch for some people, but man, it's so good. Watching Walter's rise and fall alone makes it worth it for me.
I loved Breaking Bad, the storylines and the acting were first class all the way. Seriously. Season 1 was probably the weakest of the bunch which is a shame, because once you get to the episodes with Saul, Gus, and Mike, things really kick in to high gear.

I haven't even seen the new movies. By the time I was old enough to actually want to watch, there were too many series and I could never keep any continuity straight. I may give it another go since they're all on Netflix now.
I'm a little concerned on the BSG ending since you all seem to hate it, but so far it's excellent(I'm just starting the latter half of season 4). And I'm someone who prefers a medieval or magic backdrop for shows as opposed to sci-fi, hence why Game of Thrones is my favorite.
And has anyone else watched "Orange is the new Black"? Extremely funny in a dark and gritty sort of way. And "House of Cards" comes back in 2 and a half weeks, I am stoked.
