Can't wait for the next round. This whole arc has been such a great excuse to break out clix and characters I haven't used in years, including a lot of WOL and GOTG characters I never had a chance to play.
Mikki, I'd love to be more involved as you start the next campaign!
Awesome! The next campaign, The New Generation will be an easy jumping on point! As I said earlier, it'll be a bit different than this one, but hopefully just as fun!

The next campaign will be taking place in the same universe, but you will be shifting roles. The New Generation has you taking control of 1 Hero, and possibly 1 Villain. So it will be a much more specific game where you are pretty much master of your character's canon.
For all the hiccups and missed plays that I had, overall I had a blast. It was fun RP'ing and slowly falling into madness, then getting redeemed in the end. You can't get any better than a redemption story.
I think my favorite moments were Thanos pulling a last ditch effort to destroy Earth and watching the Shi'ar/Spartax Empire rise to power. Baron Impossible's posts about all the political intrigue inside his empire were a treat to read.
I'll just post my final orders here.
(If Parallax is defeated):
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
...after being redeemed by the combined powers of the other Lantern Corps, Lyssa Drak realizes that she is no longer in Sinestro's - or Parallax's - shadow. Emboldened by her new lieutenant, Scarecrow (Dr. Jonathan Crane of Earth), she now seeks out the weapons written of in the Book of Parallax. In time, she will awaken the Worthy, as Parallax once did, and show those who would threaten the universe true FEAR.
(If Parallax is not defeated):
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Parallax joins with what's left of the Annihilation Wave (GM's permission pending) to become a force that rivals Thanos in his prime. He also seeks the weapons written of in the Book of Parallax. In time, he will bring forth the Worthy, and as The Serpent bring FEAR ITSELF from the heavens...

Yeah, since the Thanos gambit was when I joined, I have to say that's a highlight. Finally having a reason to bust out that special-event Thanos was really cool, and with luck, it may have given me the ability to actually play a home game or three sometimes - although I haven't lately thanks to work and the dude I played with going to Japan and stuff. I hope maybe I can do something game-wise with Worldbreaker before the space saga ends.
Also a little surprised to see everybody's happy to let Sakaar be Sakaar. So... I'm gonna have to make it be Sakaar.

That's awesome. I have a few ideas who I want to control (*cough cough* Joker, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze), although I'm pretty flexible.

I don't want to derail this week's (as usual, awesome) thread too much with the next arc, but I have to say that "managing" Superman after the death of Thanos was unexpectedly fun (as a superhero writer, I've secretly always wanted the chance to write Clark I think). I'm really intrigued at the idea of each of us controlling the destiny of a new hero. There's so many characters I'd love to manage in the campaign (assuming Supes returns to NPC status next time around... but like I said, no derailment, I'll wait with breathless anticipation until the next round!).
It's funny, I'm tabling a couple of comic cons the next two weekends and I already know I'm going to be surreptitiously looking at the Realms for HRS updates at my table. That's how much I enjoy these series.
My favorite moment was probably Ebony Maw's final attempt at not letting Thanos run an entire empire into the ground, but the fight against the Annihilation Wave last week was tops as well.
I don't want to give anything away, but Mikki gave me a peek at his idea for next arc, and the characters we get to manage won't be...quite the ones you may be expecting.

Love it. The more outside of expectations the better. Can't wait.
The HRS is about making stories that are fun to play in. If you want to have the power work because it is thematic and it makes sense, than go for it. If you want it to work because it makes your team better but doesn't fit thematically, probably not.
In my head since it's only 400 points the armies would basically be Bride and Groom and elite bodyguards. For the colonel I picked 2 privates and a lieutenant and for the queen Miri Riam. Basically wanted to know if the Little Kree guys would get all their boosts as they are going to need them.
My apokolips army?
Brutaal
Supergirl
Brimstone
I figure Steppenwolf is sending his best for a decapitation strike and maybe I'll write a little story about the horror of the Kree people being attacked by Superman on their leaders wedding day, or at least sow some confusion.
We'll see!

I cannot imagine a better legacy for my cousin.
Between building a cosplay to go to a con, to getting out of town for a while to visit relatives to coming home to catch a flu I've been super busy since the coup on Apokolips happened. But this whole campaign's been super awesome, I have to say my favorite part wasn't any single moment, but all the times I sent orders for the round through and then just sat there and waited to see what would actually end up happening. All the maneuvering and dealing in the world couldn't guarantee the result and I loved it! :D
yeah i'll chime in with McGuffin. my favorite part was strategizing during the week how to best outmaneuver my opposition. it was a blast conferring with my allies and my generals and working on strategy in addition to playing matches.
and I've really enjoyed the character development that's come from the writeups
