This was interesting in that it seemed like they were just taking turns lip synching, because I could not tell the difference if there was actually more than one person singing.
The Warning are three sisters from Monterey Mexico, so it wouldn't be too surprising if they sounded alike, I think. The guitarist does most singing, with the drummer doing a bit also.
Here's an Enter Sandman cover from about 10 years ago, The bass player was 9, the drummer 12, and the guitarist 14 years old: ENTER SANDMAN (The Warning) Mexico
Here's their cover from last year for the Metallica Blacklist Album with Alessia Cara: ENTER SANDMAN (The Warning) Mexico
They are currently on the Billboard Charts with the song More and have been touring the U.S. I think they opened some for the Foo Fighters. A quote I saw- "What an honor for the Foo Fighters, being given the opportunity to close for The Warning". Not sure what I think of this song though. MORE (The Warning) Mexico
And I was contemplating this morning...this type of music was really popular in the late 80s, so roughly 30 years ago.
So to compare it to the 80s, that would be like a bunch of upstart kids in the 80s coming in with a band with music from the 50s - so basically The Stray Cats.
I played The Warning for my class a few days ago and a lot of the kids really got into them.

They do not lip synch at all. Well, I guess technically since it was a music video they were all lip synching. BTW The drummer has a thicker accent.
Funny anecdote: When my little ones scream they can scream in harmony. It is an impressive wall of sound that makes it feel like your ears will explode, especially if they are screaming in the bathroom.

Forgot to add my own song. In class we were focusing on ourselves our culture and music. I played The Warning for them and then I took requests. One of my students suggested Super Shy by Newjeans definitely not my cup of tea. I think I am more disappointed that NO ONE in the group wears jeans.

This was my comment when voting for BTS in one of the current matchups. I have recently tried to actively enjoy some of the music that I have in the past actively ignored. There has to be some reason that younger listeners love it so much.
Maybe all the New Jeans were in the wash, softening them up for their first wearing….
I know, that sounds even stupider when reading it than when I typed it…
I really wanted to nominate (just about) anything from Mickey Hart's Planet Drum, but it simply didn't fit any of the criteria for the current Rock Wars. I've had this album when it was first released; the anniversary remaster sounds great.
IMO The first track (Udu Chant) outclasses the percussion of a recent contestant, which is one of teh reasons I couldn't bring myself to vote for that one.
That was a pretty cool groove. I didn't know who Mickey Hart was, so I had to look him up. I am enlightened.
One of the earliest girl groups. Two of the members are Filipina/American and I'm supposed to send June Millington a copy of a KSHE 95 bootleg CD that contains this track if I can figure out where I put it. The Butterboy in question is supposedly David Bowie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3Cj2ii6ZbY
I feel like this would just fit in perfectly in almost any movie from the early 70s. Not my style of music, but I did like that saxophone solo.

That song by Fanny has a bit of the boogie rock sound begun by Status Quo after their psychedelic era music, and then perfected by Foghat. Just wtf is a foghat anyway? Sorry, I digressed, but we'll leave it at that.
In honor of her passing and because it fits the current rock wars theme, I would like to post this song by Sinead O'Connor
I'd like to post this song as well, all about strength. Sung so beautifully by her. I immediately bought the CD after hearing it way back when. Thank You for Hearing Me
She was an underappreciated talent for sure. She told a story of paying a visit to the home of Prince and he behaved like he was going to assault her. Personally, I think he resented the fact that her version of the song was so much better than his.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

[quote=SkullBrother47;12253694]I thought Prince never even released a version of Nothing Compares 2 U until after he died, when his insanely huge vault of demos were opened up.
I don't know about that, but I did see a quote of his where he complained of other people covering his songs.
