Purpose
I really enjoy Rock Wars. Although the contests are tremendous fun, I mainly participate to learn and appreciate music that I have never heard before. During nominations, my list of potential noms is always MUCH longer than what is actually able to be used, and I'm sure that is the case for many of us.
This thread is a place to share music with each other, and comment on the songs if desired. Some songs might be, but aren't limited to:
-A new performer or group just discovered
-A favorite from long ago, that just must be shared
-Another song from a performer or group that was nominated, but wasn't used
-Any song that you just HAVE to share.
-etc.
Guidelines
Although I prefer Rock, it can be anything you like. Currently we are exploring World Music, but it can be anything you want. This isn't a contest, but a place to share. Although I'm sure any of us could list 50 songs a day, please don't. More than one or two a day will make it too hard to enjoy what is shared, and much too hard to digest and comment on what is offered. If you wish to share why you present the song, that is your option,
Rule
1- Please only offer one (or maybe two) songs each day.
2-I have never started a thread before, so please forgive if something doesn't go exactly as planned.
Although I have focused on Japanese rock/metal recently, last week I heard a new (to me) South Korean group named DIH. I have no idea what that stands for, but the song, while pretty basic, rocks.
It seems these ladies have a real talent for heavy metal Western Music. The songwriting is pretty good on this song, loved the instrumental bridge. Boy bands beware, Asia girl bands rock really hard.
This is a great idea for a thread, and I look forward to posting songs here and listening to new ones. I don't have anything right now to post off the top of my head, but I wanted to post so that this will show up in my notifications when others post songs I may like.
10 or 15 years ago, maybe even 20, I heard a song. Don't remember where or when, but I recorded it on cassette so maybe an FM radio station. For all those years until a couple of years ago, I searched to find the song and band. I asked dealers at record shows, asked record store owners, asked Siri and Shazam, even asked behind the scenes for help from HcRealms. A couple of years ago, I gave up.
On a whim, I recently played it for Siri and Siri finally told me what it was. It was unbelievably weird to just see it on my phone. I had always thought it might be named "High Flyer", but it wasn't. This is the song, now in my playlists.

Looks like Baroness stole all of their cover art ideas from Tranquility .
It's awesome that you were able to find the song. This is definitely a band I have never heard of. This will also get a big side track from me about the state of music...
This was a great song and because of the state of the music industry and producing albums coupled with streaming services and algorithms that "keep you in your lane" I fear that this music will be lost. There have been a lot of music released on vinyl that has never seen the light of day since that initial release. Because of that there is a lot of music that is just not heard anymore.
I know the rea$on$ why they are not re-released but I wish there was a better way to share this music.

I appreciate how they took the blues a bit further and reeled in that rock making this proto-metal sound that Black Sabbath just perfected to be "the first". After discovering these bands it allows me to understand music a little more from that time and shows that there was more out there than what we think we know.
The Dust album is a GREAT album and album cover.

Wow, never heard of these bands. Will need to spend some weekend time diving a bit deeper, but think I understand their place between the earliest rock/blues/progressive and the "earliest" metal. I also like how neither group seems afraid of touching on various genres, sometimes just a little. Guess when you are breaking out of the status quo, you use your tools and your creativity.
Got arrested coming home from seeing these guys in concert with Mr. Bungle, Incubus and System of a Down in Philly. Apparently my car with one headlight out (at night), reeked of marijuana. PuyaFundamental (Puerto Rico)

If you wanted to see and hear something new to you, mission accomplished. I think this is a fan made video. It is both interesting and horrible. Cool graphics and presentation, but the content is way out of my comfort zone. Different tastes, I suppose.
As to the band, another I did not know. Surprising, since they tour with other really famous bands and their music is really good. I went to their own site, and really enjoyed what I heard. I will definitely listen to more.
Based on the video, I assume you were arrested last month?!?!😀
I nominated one of the covers by Broken Peach in their native tongue, but if you are in the mood for some English language covers/mash-ups of pop songs that you will recognize, they can scratch a very specific itch. I think of them as a sort of fun version of Pentatonix.

I scanned like five of their covers, and they are all fun. I recommend “Tainted Love” in English. Surprisingly, and apparently not typical, they also did the original Cee Lo Green “F*** You”.
Berks county (where I live) has a large Spanish population. I worked in food and service out of high school and was turned onto these guys by Spanish co-workers, back in the day. Has a big Rage Against the Machine feel to me. MolotovQue No Te Haga Bobo Jacobo (Mexico)
