if you want one I hope they screw you like they screwed me I really do, I had a limited time down there, and I spent a lousy day there trying to get something that was only there in the first hour or two when I could have been somewhere else enjoying my time somewhere else as stated they both can go to hell for that
"Zombie guards SIEZE him!!........now tell me thats not fun to say."
They advertised a product.
People were charged MONEY for a stinkin OPORTUNITY to BUY said product.
Then NO PRODUCT.
I don't care what lame disclaimer they put out. I think there may be cause for legal action.
That's called bait and switch in the rest of the retail industry.
Nooo, it isn't cause for legal action. If there were NO Galactus figures at the convention, THEN there would have been cause.
If there are some, or even 1, then there is no cause for legal action. And any attorney who's worth the degree on their wall will tell you that.

"It sounded like more excuses of their incompetence to me."
"Not good enough."
"...being duped by Wizkids"
"That ws pretty lame."
"That's why I want more then an apology."
You guys are sad, sad, sad little men.
You should be happy they made a Galactus at all.
I asked them last year if they were going to making any more big figs, and I was told that they 'weren't profitable.'
Straight out, how much money do you think they're making on this ?
R&D, playtesting, manufacturing, shipping, etc.
Probably not that much.
I wouldn't be surprised if WizKids told you all to screw off, no more big figs ever.
Thanks for the effort WK, I appreciate it. And if I don't get one, I won't call for your head on a pike...

Wizard World LA Wrap Up
The convention season is one of the most exciting times of the year both for WizKids staff and our customers. While we have been fortunate to have crowds at our convention booths in the past, the rush of people and the demand for the Galactus exclusive was unprecedented to say the least. The WizKids staff was deeply sorry to see so many convention attendees leave the Wizard World Los Angeles convention disappointed.
This would have been a blast if not for all the work we had to do because of our mistake.
We are in the process of working with the Wizard Convention staff, as well as the staffs of GenCon, Origins, and the San Diego ComicCon, to ensure that crowd control is thoroughly addressed at our future shows.
From now on, you will have to go through more security checkpoints to get a Galactus from us than you will to get on a plane!
Because Galactus is a limited edition figure, not every convention-goer will be able to obtain one. However, we are increasing the number of Galactus figures available at each convention so that many more of you will have an opportunity to purchase him.
Number increased from 400 to 401.
We will also take more precautions to allow consumers to be able to purchase Galactus before retailers. At the Wizard World Los Angeles show, a very small number of Galactus figures (approximately 15) were sold to retailers on Friday night. WizKids did not sell multiple figures to the same retailer, although some retailers purchased them from consumers or bought consumer badges for their staff members so those staff members could stand in the consumer line to obtain another one. This will be addressed at future shows as well.
We changed our minds. NO ONE IS GETTING A GALACTUS NOW!!! MWA-HA-HA-HA!!!
The Mage Knight “stick horse and coconut” Relic Cards were absent from the show. This was, in fact, due to a shipping problem, and these Relic Cards will be available at future shows. Please remember that all giveaway Limited Edition figures and convention prizes are subject to change.
It's always the fault of UPS, don't you know!
While WizKids understands that many people traveled a long way to get a Galactus figure in Los Angeles, there will be future chances to buy this figure at all WizKids-attended conventions, including the San Diego ComicCon for those in the Southern California area. For more information on WizKids-attended conventions, visit http://www.wizkidsgames.com/wk_artic...&frame=events.
Yeah, you can go to the beach nearby after you get screwed by us!
Additionally, some distributors outside of the United States and Canada who are attending conventions within their respective countries may have Galactus figures to sell at those conventions. Contact your country’s WizKids distributor if you are outside of the United States and Canada for details.
If you thought availability was bad at WWLA, wait until you see what happens abroad!
Again, we apologize that some attendees at Wizard World Los Angeles left disappointed, and we have taken steps to ensure that many more people will have a chance to buy Galactus at future conventions. We cannot guarantee a Galactus for each convention attendee, but we will try to make as many available as possible to our fans and collectors.
"Our bad, you're SOL!"
Thanks,
Dorcas Bean, Convention and Event Manager "Don't hurt me, it's not my fault!"
Jason Mical, Advertising and Public Relations Coordinator "I only said something to shut you all up!"
Sean Coomes, Retail Lead "Who am I and what am I doing here?"
I'm through with the game, the company and all the employees. Report me if you want, I don't care anymore.

They certainly didn't do it for me. I didn't ask them to make him, and I certainly didn't ask them to spend three months hyping him.
Do you really think they made Galactus for altruistic reasons? Unless they're donating the proceeds to the Feed The Handicapped Orphans and Stop Norwegians From Clubbing Baby Seals Fund, I think they had to have their bottom line in mind on this one.

I just hate it when people make up figures to support an argument. Kind of invalidates the argument. Pennies to make? When they have to pay to make the molds (from what I hear VERY expensive), buy the materials, pay the painters, package them, and ship them? Sounds like an expensive proposition to me.
And my puling KC Wonder Women in back to back packs in the pre-release has nothing to do with this, so
I have a badge and a credit reciept for my attendance.

Do you what these figures cost them? Pennies
Shipping ?
1 if it was the big G, I'd pay for the shipping and I'd even pay the $75 + tax
2 if it's a figure pack Silver surfer, Invisible girl ....
For me cost to send 2 figures in a small box. $1.10
Delivery confirmation .45 cents extra.
hmmm......
To repair public image $2. doesn't sound bad
That's just me.
Some companies send out specialized products. Cost lots. Watches, keychains, lighters, paperweights, pens etc.
At that point they want to get their name out.
In this case it's to smooth over some rough edges created by a marketing, personell and supply flap.
Well worth the expense in my opinion.
Your little scenerio just cost the. $15,500 based on the projected numbers and $38,750 for the estimated numbers after the fact. This doesn't not even include the labor expense to collect all the names and address and the labor to package them all up. Seriously think about what you are saying here.

Hey!! I went to the convention for those and didn't get them! I had to buy a Galactus instead and it was much more. BAIT AND SWITCH!!!
10-2-08 I just put a bunch of stuff on eBay including a numbered Super Skrull Illuminati and a CoG Galactus. Check it out.

No. You were charged money to get into a convention. There was more than just the Wizkids booth there. I'm sure it's somehow possible the entire rest of the convention floor and the tourneys upstairs may have somehow escaped your notice, but they were there.
Wizkids did not charge you for your tickets. Wizard did. Completely different company.

It's only bait and switch if Wizkids lured you in to buy a fictiotious product. Since I know quite a few Galacti were sold there, then there was product. Just because you were one of the unfortinate souls who didn't get one, doesn't mean it wasn't there.
