Not to be confused with Deja View, the feeling that you've seen this movie or TV show before. Middle-aged folks like myself are experiencing this a lot lately, what with V, Clash of the Titans, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc.
Middle-aged... as in, you lived in the time of the middle ages.
Not to be confused with living in middle-earth.
"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to MaxFortune again."
But you are so right. I haven't seen the new Titans but the commercials are enough to tell me, it's not a film, it's a CGI thrill-park ride. No comparison to the original.
Thanks.
And, yes, I hear you. There was a recent thread (were you part of it?) about the original King Kong, Willis O'Brien, Ray Harryhausen, etc. I contend that the only reason the original CotTdidn't suck was because of Ray's cool monsters.
Monster/Kaiju movies with CGI? Mostly "meh". (Reptillian being a notable exception, but I'm biased -- it was mostly financed by Hyundai, and I was working for Hyundai at the time. )

I was a bit sad that we didn't get a cameo from any of the oldies in "A Savage Time" But Seeing Sgt. Rock and The Blackhawks was pretty damn epic.
HOLY JUMPIN' JEEBUS ON A RITZ CRACKER!!!! I just spotted the COOLEST thing in Part Two of that 3-parter (and they don't even mention it in the commentary :cross-eye)
Right at the end of the big Blackhawks dogfight in Part 2 (where Supes, Hawkgirl, and the Blackhawks are just trashing German planes left and right), Supes flies straight through a Nazi plane. When he comes out the other side, Supes is engulfed in flames. He swoops around into the foreground and flies right past the camera -- and he looks EXACTLY like the WWII version of the Human Torch!
Man, I totally geeeeeeeeeeked out!!!!
Bust out your DVD and check it out -- it's one of the coolest "Easter eggs" EVER!

The original Kong is my all-time fave movie. I tried watching the remake from the 70's and fall asleep within 15 minutes after the opening credits. And I really couldn't get much further into the more recent remake without getting annoyed.
As for the new Clash, well, I didn't see it, but I didn't care much for the original so, it's not a big deal for me. I do know the guy in charge of the CGI had talked to Ray Harryhausen for some ideas, but Mr Harryhausen was not really onboard with the movie.
Sorry if this was mentioned, I didn't have the attention span to read the whole thread. But in a commentary track on one of the dvds (can't remember if it's Superman or Justice League), they mention the fact that people sometimes think Lex Luthor is black. And they say specifically that Lex (and Harvey Dent, incidentally) are white. You could probably find the right commentary track pretty quick, since there's only like 3 or 4 per box set, and not every episode had Lex in it.
