Ok. Me and a couple friends of mine started a debate earlier today. They don't read many comics, but they're huge fans of the DC and Marvel cartoons: Justice League, Stattic Shock, Teen Titans, etc.
When we were opening our BatB Heroclix boosters, they asked why Lex Luthor is white...I told them he IS white. They said he wasn't, and showed me a picture of him from the Justice League Unlimited cartoon. He looked white in that picture too, but since his skin was ALMOST slightly darker than the other two characters in the picture, and because of the way his face was drawn, they argued that he's a light skinned black man...also, a couple of his action figures online has darker skin than Superman.
We kept up the debate just for fun, but neither side proved anything.
So, anyone have any PROOF as to what race Lex Luthor is? Lol
In the cartoon?
How much can you take, and keep moving forward?
The Green Lantern Corps is DC's version of the US Marine Corps.
I think he is tanned because he occasionally spends his money and time in Palm Beach or the French Riviera or his yacht. Not to mention all those experiments with red sun rays machines...
the guy who voices him is clancy brown(the KURGEN) who is white, if that helps.
*Fixed
Lex in comic books=white
Other medium=who cares?
Black, White, Lithuanian...doesn't matter.

Black guys do bald better then white guys so subliminally they think Luthor is black.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
the guy who voices him is clancy brown (Captain George Stacy and Rhino from Spectacular Spider-Man but yeah mostly Lex Luthor. Also, Mr. Krabbs from Spongebob but that's not important) who is white, if that helps.
Fixed it for you.
I heard a commentary where Timm and some other folks discussed the misconception about the animated Luthor's race. They basically said that he's white and has the same skin tone as Superman.
I think they just light him differently. Because he's evil.
the guy who voices him is clancy brown(Rawhide in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension, where he pretty near stole the movie, as well as the Glorfft Commander on the late, great Megas XLR) who is white, if that helps.
Triple-fixed.

Yeah He was but they kept it mostly in dark lighting so they could justify switching him : P
Wasn't he originally Black to synergize with the movies at the time?
Yes, he was,* but there are people here on the 'Realms who will argue ENDLESSLY about that despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary (as shown in a thread on the subject a while back).
Best to just let 'em win and say "Nobody in the DCAU is black unless it's Amanda Waller or a hero with the word 'Black' somewhere in their name".
Then you can fight with the Black Canary fans.
* As has been pointed out endlessly elsewhere, Billy Dee Williams was the original Harvey Dent but backed out after the first movie, so he was replaced with Tommy Lee Jones. My theory is that since Tommy had a first name that also ended with two consonants and a "y", as well as a middle name that rhymed with "Dee", they figured nobody'd notice.
Batman: TAS had already been on the air for a year at that time, and in production for still longer, dating back to the time when Williams was still scheduled to play Two-Face.
