I hear you on the Vet FF Vulture. I still only have one to this day. Though I have not actively tried to trade for one I have kept a lookout for any. If there are any to be had, they are most definitely flying high above the radar.

49 cents a piece.

I know my original post was about CUR/REV's but I have seen so many folks here posting comments about the 'big guns' being hard to locate (Chases etc), that I thought I would throw this out there to help people.

I recently (a few sets back) gave up on the Chase garbage, and decided that any Chase etc type figure that I did not pull from a case, booster etc, I was not going to drop an organ to try and buy or 'chase' after.

I decided that what I was going to do was have the dial modded up, and glue whatever figure I wanted to the dial. Now, as I understand it, as long as the dial is absolutely accurate, then mods are legal; so these type should be as well. The only difference is, of course, the figure itself.

Now I know that with some figures - like the Chase Supermen - the whole point of the figure is the sculpt, and I dropped enough to get these myself - but these figures were, in fact, the straw that broke the camels back on this issue for me to begin with. I cannot see dropping $100 or more - trade or cash - to get a piece of plastic anymore. There are a few sculpts that I have seen recently, that have caused me some pause in that view; but, truthfully, the economy right now won't let me change that position - even if I wanted to.

With that said, I am perfectly happy to go with my mods and, at least in that light, I have the figure to use if I want to - and my bank account isn't dying a horrible lingering clix-death. True it does involve a bit more effort on my part to get the figure up to display status, but I actually find it fun to do so anyway. And more rewarding then just shelling out insane amounts of cash for stuff.

2099 doom. I have had two over the course of years but every time I come across one someone offers me their soul and more for the piece so I end up trading it. Haven't been able to find one since... :/

Batzarro. For some unknown reason. I pulled one in the brick I bought and thought, "a rare. I'll get another pretty easily." So I gave it to buddy who really wanted him and can't buy what I can.

My venue. Nada. I abused eBay for a while...now I don't. But never made the list for some reason. Forgot him???

Also, the new power girl. Two rates I don't have from a guy who spends way too much on this silly game.

I will see what I can do to locate them for you.

Victor Creed and Dr. Karla Sofen LE figs. Probably the rarest figures that I need. Never want to pay the crazy prices for them when I do find them.

Victor Creed is one of the figures I mentioned, that sparked the "no more silliness" viewpoint I now have on collecting; he cost me over $100 in trade items to get - though I did make the deal and have him, to my shame (but happiness!).

Dr Karla Sofen I took the easy road on, and got a mod of her dial, and I am going to glue one of the REV figures to it. Quick, easy, and no financial ruin to do so. Like you, I am not paying ludicrous prices for figures that might get 1 game, here or there, board-time.

(Just an fyi: had I not gotten the VC via trade, I would have done the same for him too. By the way, just so folks understand - you CAN take one of the REV figures and glue it onto a mod of these dials, and the figure is then, essentially, the same as the one you would get otherwise. I know, cause I have done so already.)

Oh, I have to add another figure to my 'agony list' as well. Number 220 Prof Xavier LE, from Critical Mass, has been giving me excessive fits to find, of late. I am about to give up and go mod dial on him as well, as I cannot take the ridiculousness of trying to trade for one anymore. Guess it is just as well.....

Oh, don't get me wrong. I WILL own them eventually, but I just don't want to buy them for full price. If my past has proven anything, it's that good things come to those that are patient and wait. I got both Crisis Chase Supermen for a combined $60, and a LE Bruce Banner and LE Rupert for less than $25 each. I now have all of the Chases. I will own all of the LE's as well. It's just a matter of time and patience. I need less than 10 at this point.

For me, the hardest common clix for me has got to be #001 Batman from the Icons starter pack. I don't want the whole pack, just him. And nobody is willing to trade him or sell him to me. One of these days, i'll have to break down and buy the pack if i can find it. Another figure is Owlman from CD. Had 1 and traded it 2 years ago. Number of people say they have one to trade, but are never willing to part with him when the time comes. Checkmate Knights, both black and white from BandB have been difficult to find. Everyone wants them, no one has them. And don't even get me started on Dark Beast from MandM.

I... think... I'm.... gonna.... cry.....

[I shelled out over $100 in trade for Rupert too, as well as that much each for the 2 Chase Superman's. LE BB I got for like $6 - $8, way back, so I do not feel as many tears welling up on that one... lol!]

I do occasionally keep a look out for deals too - you never know - but I just am saying that I will NOT shell out anything ludicrous anymore in these matters. And, while mine may not be entirely 'legal', I too will have all of them eventually. (I hope.)

I have 7 or 8 of the Icons #001 Batman too - he is near my favorite of all the Batman's. Owlman is a toughie to be sure. Dark Beast is one nasty item to get - bet on that. Checkmate Knights I have laid hands on from time-to-time, let me know how many, and of what types, and I will let you know what the possibilities are.
