The tournament says constructed... that would mean retirement plays a roll, right?

But is it multi-universe?

The Tournament I played in was Open Heroclix and fell under Retirement Rules. It was 300 points.

I will use wasp to advance spiderman. Black Queen wil advance under the cover of the hand ninja. Either Destiny or a con artist will be used as bait. If I role leadership The team is capable of taking down thor in one turn. I know it has short comings but I was looking for opinions.

I wish the judge at our premiere event had this opinion. Someone convinced him that only the characters weren't legal and the feats and conditions were fair game. I'm still not sure who is right.

What made it frustrating was this was before the release of MM, so only people who went to the pre-release could benefit. I had to face a turtling Amazo with Trick Shot, which wouldn't have been so bad if I had Crosswinds or something...anything!

You totally got robbed! The only part of MM that is tourney legal, WK rules are the LE's that have been awarded. Otherwise, nothing from MM is legal until 12/9/04.

The setup is to Pulsewave the Con Artists and Elektra on to click two, this puts Elektra on Flurry. If leadership rolls (you have two chances) go your way, you can do a double TK up of Jean and Elektra or JiS!, depedning on targets, get them Perplex pumped, then send them across. Little Sure Shot and Laura Brown provide ranged support.

One thing I might have done different...the second Aquaman is mostly for redundancy...after all...I have plenty of attackers (Dominic is deadly with the triple pump)...I would have like to have had Sidewinder...he could have provided Leadership...but more important...I could have used someone to just walk up and stand next to opponents medics. Oh well.

This team took me to 2-1, at which time I dropped so I could get home while it was still daylight, however, I think it would have performed better for me if I had practiced with it more.

Meh, I'm posting this again to see if anyone has opinions on it.

Now usually when I hear the magic U word I grab Doctor Strange and head to town, but I kinda want to try some new stuff. So I'm going with this:

Taskmaster will always be able to give Hobgoblin an 11 attack and it gets even worse with Hobgoblin having that RCE later with either an 11 for 3 or 9 for 4.

Hobgoblin, Doombot, Parademon are the good taxis with which I move all the guys around with.

Sabretooth is the mastermind fodder-he sucks it all up and regens it back.

Deathstroke is the MVP, he outwits and his top worthy consistency gives my team some much needed dial unshallowness.

Meh, what do you think?

I also thought of this team. I'm not going to get the most points, but I am going to win all the games.

The 4 barriers do a tag team of setting up barriers in the corner. The total is less than 300 (by about 9 points) the victory goes to the one with the lowest build total (i.e. me) and if worse comes to worse you have several close combatants, two pulse wavers/energy exploders, ranged combat experts, SHIELD with enhancement and a flyer.

I'd only do this team to piss people off.

Of course after reading the thread here I might just go with either of these teams:

Torch has one of the highest reaches in the game with the uniques taken out, Strange can back him up and along with the rest of the team with his rainbow dial, and Psylocke provides secondary attacker support with her 8 range, blades, and enhancement will help Torch out. Panther is the fodder, but if I get a chance to use outwit then hey! Spider-man is the stealth combatter (pardon me, the dumb stealth combatter-if anyone is dumb enough to realize the tactic he's for) he's also rather solid with wild card, willpower, superstrength, late dial incap, and some supersenses.

Then this team is a team I'd probably never ever play:

Jade was my support killer. Adam was my heavy hitter and the rest were all support pieces. The team worked ok. I couldn't find a single destiny for some reason and I think her free move would have helped in a few places. I rolled pretty bad the whole tournament I think between Jade's super senses and Black Adam's impervious I rolled the dodge once in 5 games. First round I played a Thor team that if I had made an attack against his TK the game would have been completely different. Since I lost there was no chance of me winning the Magneto so I just had fun the other rounds.

All in all it was a fun tournament not as high competitive as I thought so I hope I can make the one in December.
