FlyigIcarus and Gargantua are at it again with a new game. The premise is that each team has a lead character. This character is lost in time. He must go through three levels (maps) of his own history to get to the present.
The starting points are A and X14. The lead character who starts in A14 must get to X14 to make it to the next level. The lead character on the first map is a rookie version as part of a 300 point team. The second map is the experienced in a 400 point team and the third a veteran in a 500 point team.
The lead figure must make it to the exit (the opposing side) on his own power (can't be flown or phased, can't be a speedster). Before he can exit his team but inflict at least one click of damage to all of the opposing team. If a lead is koed he starts back his beginning square of his current map at full strength. If he passes from one map to another he begins the new map at full strength.
For my lead, I've chosen the Beast. My first team will be:

No brainer on who the first team was going to be. I wanted to do all rookies for the X-Men, but they only came up to 250 points. I suppose I could have subbed someone else to represent one of the other early X-Men like Havok or Polaris, but I liked the thought of doing the original team to begin.
Captain America is my choice, not a favorite but just feels right.

Really wanted to use Black Adam for Namor just cause he looks like him but Cap Britain matches better power-wise.
Captain America shouldn't be here. He knows this. He was asleep, in bed, unclothed. Now he's in his costume with shield at his side.
Normally his mind would race to figure out how scenarios that might bring him to this. It doesn't take him long. Yesterday he fought a simple bank robber, the Beast also ran into the thief. Together they easily overcame the bandit. No bloodshed. No damage. It was as easy as waking up. As the thief was being taken away he knocked out the police officers escorting him, took out an odd shaped gun that wasn't there when he was searched and fired at both Beast and himself. Both were hit by yellow-orange streams of light that easily passed through them. "It's not over for you yet, heroes," screamed the thief and he disappeared into another stream of light before they could capture him. Based upon some of the things said, they quickly figured out he was a time traveller.
Instictively Cap realizes where he is, Germany 1941. Just as surely he knows that time has been corrupted, for him and the Beast, and both men have different agendas in order to correct it. The agendas will mean facing off agasinst each other in order to correct time.
'Hey, partner," a familiar voice rings out, "Ready to join the world of the living?"
Captain America turns around and hears the voice of his long dead teenage partner, Bucky, smiling at him admirably, bright as day. The Human Torch, his partner Toro, Spitfire and Sub-Mariner all stand alongside him. The Invaders are here for him, he realizes.
Nice team. I like the substitutions you made for the Invaders characters. Though I was seriously considering using Britain to stand in for Wonder Man later. We'll see. Still might.
Question - how do we handle it if I should make it to the portal before you? If I make it, I'd move onto the next level, but your Cap shouldn't bbe there yet? Well we've got a few turns to figure it out at least. Well, technically, you should probably get first pick of side, but really there's not a whole lot of difference, so i'll set up if it's okay with you.

"This is most curious," Hank McCoy said, staring at his hands. "I'm not blue and furry."
"Well, duh!" Bobby Drake said.
"Are you feeling all right, Hank?"
"Oh, yes Professor," the Beast replied. But he wasn't. He was very certain that something highly unusual was transpiring. He was here in the Westchester Shopping Emporium, in a far more youthful body, before he had taken on his more bestial form. Around him were the original X-Men - Warren, Jean, Scott and Bobby - and Professor Xavier - and all of them looking no older than 17 or 18. Well, not the Professor of course, but all the rest. He remembered the encounter that he and Captain America had had with the bank robber yesterday and his unconventional looking armament. That must have been the catalyst for this. He knew somehow, what he had to do to get back to his time, his body, and he knew that he'd have to fight Captain America to do it. He didn't like that idea one bit. But Cap would understand. He was in it too. And McCoy was a scientist. Once he was back to normal, he'd devote all his energies to get his friend and colleague out of this as well. But before he could do that, he needed to get out of this himself.
I think you should keep A14 for all the maps now. I'll get A24, just for clarity.
Feel free to use Captain Britain as Wonder Man, I felt he would be your replacement character.
If you cross the portal first only my supporting cast would be there, no Cap. He must do the appropriate damage and walk through A14 to make the next map.
I'm guessing we can expect a lot of Avengers in this game. I'm sure you can guess my next team ,generally.
Wow, this map will be tough, not a lot of spaces to walk through (remember that Jean or Angel can't move Beast, just as the Totches or Subby can't move Cap). I think this will be a tough map!

If it's ok I will refer to the alternate characters by their alternate name from now on: in other words no more Sub-Mariner (Captain Britain) just Sub-Mariner, cool?
"X-Men," Xavier sent telepathically, "I sense another set of minds - superhumans. Odd. They believe themselves to be the Invaders, the super team from World War II. Be ready. Even if their powers are similar to the Invaders' they will be dangerous foes."
"Invaders," Beast thought as he loped up to the doorway. "Makes sense Cap would be with his first team too."
The other X-Men joined the Beast, ready for action.
"Who are these funky kids, Cap? Nazi's recruiting children now?" the Human Torch queries.
"The bald one," Namor commands, "He's the mentor. Hmmmph, looks like your typical Nazi commander."
"Move ahead team, but cautiously. They're called the X-Men. They've got some great skills we need to be cautious of: telepathy, telekensis, flight, strength, distance blasts and ice manipulation," Cap says, "Follow my lead, Invaders. Spitfire, hold back for the moment, your super speed can help us out if we walk into a trap."
"Will do," the English accent of Spitfire relays.
"Gee, Cap. When did you learn of these X-Men? In all our work together I've never heard of them," Bucky says.
Cap simply moves on without explanation. He hates to ignore the statement but explaning would mean too much. Let them believe it's Nazi propaganda they're fighting. Better than explain that the X-Men, and Cap himself, are from a future where Bucky is long dead.

What did we decide on Leap/Climb? We were talking about L/C and Phasing (and I think there was one other but I can't think of it right now) and whether or not they should be allowed on lead characters or if it'd make it too easy for them to get to the portal. Since we introduced the rule that all the opposing team had to have taken damage before the lead character got the key, I don't think it's as much of an issue, but I may be biased, since Beast will get L/C. Then again, we also elected not to give Stealth to the leads as it'd be too much of an advantage, which Cap would get next round.
Your call - should we allow both of the powers or neither?
Anyway, I'm not really ready to push yet, so give me a pass.
