Can I use Pulse Wave to damage my own figs first turn?

the answer is yes and here is why:

you can't target your own figures, but PW does not require you to target anything, simply give the figure a ranged combat action, then roll the dice and deal damage to the figures that are hit by the attack, your figures included.

So if there aren 't enemies I can make a ranged combat action against my own figs with PW.... right?

Right. PW has no specific target. It just hits everything. =)

although a more cost effective use for hawk dove and collosus is to use their team abilities to your advantage..... (x-men ta titians ta for healing a push) just a thought for ya.....

I got mad hooker bombed in a tournament this weekend and it was just nasty.

Yes it is a little bit nasty but I'm really happy that I can use Shazam with all his power after a turn
So the game is quicker
