I know any attack that deals 3 damage can destroy a square of barrier, but what about an energy explosion that has been Shield or Enhanced to 3... Does it take out all barrier squares around the initial target? Does it effect characters also adjacent to the target square?
Second does ESD come into play against splash damage of an explosion? Since the character was not the target of the attack, can they still use their ESD for splash?
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

I would say just like nailing 3 figs adjacent, if it does three damage all around, the barrier is down.

I would think that the ES/D wouldn't activate, kind of like with Stealth in the same situation
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing

A barrier is terrain and terrain cannot be the target of an EE attack. You couldn't target it to begin with and even if you attacked a fig that was next to a barrier, the barrier would take no splash damage.
From the FAQ... "An attack using Energy Explosion cannot target objects. It does not affect objects or terrain."

I would say "no" because it is splash damage off of an adjacent character, but I can't find anything in the PAC or FAQ to back me up.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.

Energy Explosion
An attack using Energy Explosion cannot target objects. It does not affect objects or terrain.
Since you can only damage characters with an EE attack, you cannot use it on the wall, no matter how high you Enhance/SHIELD it up.

No

It ONLY affects characters. You cannot target the wall with EE.

ENERGY SHIELD/DEFLECTION Increase this character’s defense value by 2 against ranged combat attacks.
So it works against EE since EE is an ranged attack.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.

What PL said... it only requires a ranged combat attack to activate ES/D, so EE will trigger it even if we are talking about the splash. Same with Super Senses. It's activated on a successful attack, so it also works against splash.

How does it not make sense logically? If you have an energy shield or are able to deflect people's attacks, then why shouldn't you be able to shield yourself from like Pyro's flame balls or something? It makes perfect sense to me.
