I'm going to use V Nebula in a game soon, and was wondering what the thoughts were on V SWAT Heavy Weapons fig as fodder.
I've heard people talk about Logan and i think Sandman and Grundy as good MM figs, but those figs don't come cheap. I've also heard of Vampire Lackey's and other figs with Regeneration...I'm just looking in another direction
V SWAT Heavy Weapons
The Good:
2 clicks of toughness (to help when soaking up damage)
2 clicks of energy explosion (starting AV of 9)
Range of 8 (this is what i like quite a bit, especially with the...)
Shield TA (for +1 Damage)
Pretty cheap = 24 points
The Bad
Only 5 clicks of life (though this isn't all that bad)
Low defense (14) if the target of a direct attack
???
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.
24 points for 5 clicks is still a pretty good deal when you consider that he has Toughness and the SHIELD TA. Have him and Nebula carried into combat and he's ready to go with his TA and no token!
Booster Gold -Rookie is a great figure for Mastermind. Only 28 point....He flies.....has a range of 8 and he has 7 clicks of life...which means you can deflect 6 to him. And you also have the ability to use him to fly Nebula away if you need to.
Just a thougt.
I usually go the route of energy explosion on mastermind clumps, so his toughness would be great. Be careful about assigning too many actions to him though as you never know when you'll need him to move to block lines of fire, attack an advancing enemy, or follow a running nebula. pushing mastermind fodder is the OPPOSITE of what you should be doing
Put trick shot on the Vet Nebula and have a Vet Brood Queen carry her around. The trick shot puts her above points so she can mastermind on her. This way you have the choice of either incaping two opponents through stealth or hitting one for 4 damage. The Vet brood Queen has toughness all the way down her dial. If anyone tries to base her to keep you from moving, you blades them.
