Well, what do we have here? Does Ultimate Thor have a competitor now? Just like the Ultimate baddy, Nova's dial is simple and powerful at the same time. Matching Thor in powers on his first click, Nova is a straight forward, yet deadly piece.
Until Legacy is released, Thor is, and will be the ultimate target of Outwit. Given the feat card, Fortitude, his cost will rocket up to 211. But this isn't about Thor, and him getting Outwitted, no, this is about Nova, and her ability to avoid getting Outwitted as well with her Power Cosmic Team Ability. The only thing getting past that is Psychic Blast and Exploit Weakness.
With a range of 10 with dual targets, Running Shot with a 12 movement, and 5 natural damage, Nova is everything fanboys wanted from their chrome Silver Surfer. The dual targets is a lovely touch, seeing that her attack value is an average 10. Target two figures, miss one of them, and give the figure that you hit all that natural damage. To me, powerful figures deserve powerful damage, not damage enriched with Range Combat or Close Combat Expert. Do not fear, that top click might as well have Willpower on it as well, seeing that lovely Power Cosmic TA not only allows her to be un-Outwittable, but push damage free as well!
That top click, like for most figures, is her most precious spot to be. Even though only her damage drops by one on her second click, she still loses Impervious and drops to Invulnerability. Now, only a 3 damage is needed to pierce her spikey armor with no chances of avoiding attacks. Her first click of Invulnerability is also her last of Running Shot, so be very very careful. Invulnerability does outlast Impervious, giving Nova 3 clicks of it, thus making your opponent do a lot of damage to knock her down to Toughness.
A lot like Thor, after her Running Shot is gone, Nova is a sitting duck. And like all sitting ducks, your opponent will go after her full force to try and bring her down. And unlike the other Power Cosmic figure, she lacks Regeneration, so you'll have to head back to your medic to get your Galactus lap dog back up to full strength. And when she does, she'll be that much more of a hassle for your opponent to take down.

I want her. But simply in a 'My Galactus needs his Heralds' sort of way.
I don't know that I'd ever play her in a single game just because I don't know and don't care for her character. However, that doesn't mean that she can't look pretty in all of her chromed loveliness on the shelf in my game room.

I dunno...for 200 points that looks mighty cool. You get the first shot with that 5 damage in a 200 point game, and you can call victory pretty easily. If the miss or you roll IMP on their attack, then your in great shape. I think her first 2 clicks make her a contender.

Armor Piercing will soon greatly expand the number of characters that can "get through" damage reducing powers, including Poison characters. While immune to pushing damage, Incapacitate with Stunning Blow can damage and "lock down" Nova. Even cheap Incapacitate characters with 1 damage can use Stunning Blow and Armor Piercing to whittle her down and tie her up. Be sure to keep side gunners on your force for dealing with such threats.
