400:
V Wildfire - 145
R Batman - 85
V Blink - 66
V Calypso - 46
R Vertigo - 45
TOTAL - 387
(You're definitely going to want to find a medic somewhere. My guess would be that a friend wouldn't mind letting you borrow one to fill out some of that last 13 points.
Tried to build this team around Wildfire to make good use of his wildcard TA. He's got Batman Ally to copy from Bats, X-Men from Blink, and Sinister Syndicate from Calypso (though that'd be more for her benefit than Wildfire's). Vertigo's there as a harrasser and to provide some Perplex, Blink gives you some added mobility with Telekinesis, Batman is a very mobile Outwitter that can attack when necessary, and Calypso offers a little Probability Control to keep the dice rolling your way and Mind Control if the opportunity arises (try to keep her by Wildfire so he can copy Sinister Syndicate and beef up her Attack, as well as to PC him if he rolls a bad attack).
Just a suggestion when posting here -- you might want to list what set those figures are from (there are a lot of Spider-Man "Rookies"...)
Secondly, you might want to list what type of game you are going to play in -- is it an "open" game or is it universe-specific (can you mix Marvel, DC, Indy)? Is it for a "restricted" or "unrestricted" event -- can you use retired figures? Or is it not for a tournament but for a fun game at home?
Also, if you have an Feat cards, you might want to list them as well -- because a lot of the playability of these characters is lately tied into specific Feat cards (for example, Blink is a great figure for using Passenger, which helps with your team's mobility... but if you don't have Passenger, that use for that figure won't help you).
Finally, have you figured out a play style you like yet? Do you like making ranged attacks or close combat? Do you specifically like any of these figures? Do you want a team built around one strong attacker and support pieces, or do you want a team more evenly spread out point-wise?
That all being said, here are a couple of suggestions (with no Feat card additions, because I don't know what you have):
300 Pt team
Cable R 76 (ranged attacker)
Deadpool R 65 (ranged and BCF close attacker, perplex)
Blink V 66 (for TK and secondary attacker with Phasing)
Hawkman R 32 (for mobility)
Vertigo R 45 (incap and perplex)
Metropolis SCU R 16 (mobile terrain)
= 300 points
400 Pt team
Wildfire V 145 (mobility, RS, double EE, solid damage)
Batman R 85 (close combat, outwit, Outsiders TA)
Vertigo R 45 (incap and perplex)
Deadpool R 65 (ranged and BCF close attacker, perplex)
Hawkman R 32 (for mobility)
Metropolis SCU R 16 (mobile terrain)
= 382 points
(Wildfire might not fit on this team; you might want to drop him and add, for example, Cable and Spider-Man)
500 Pt team
Wildfire V 145 (mobility, RS, double EE, solid damage)
Batman R 85 (close combat, outwit, Outsiders TA)
Vertigo R 45 (incap and perplex)
Deadpool R 65 (ranged and BCF close attacker, perplex)
Hawkman R 32 (for mobility)
Spider-Man R 59 (super strength, incap, L/C)
Blink V 66 (for TK and secondary attacker with Phasing)
= 497 points
If your Batman is from Legacy, then he has the Outsiders team ability. This means that the strategy of V Wildfire borrowing his Team Ability through his Wildcard ability won't work. Outsiders can't be used by a Wildcard. That's not to say R Batman from Legacy isn't any good. He's a great figure, and will make an excellent addition to almost any team. I'll see what I can come up with.
Originally posted by Fatman&Blobbin Thanks for your suggestions, how do I determine what set they are from. I bought most of my pieces seperately from my venue, not from a booster.
I have no feat cards as I never bought a booster yet.
and um I like ranged attack but not so much as the whole team is crippled if they get in close range.
What set a figure came from can be determined by a symbol on the combat dial. Each set has a different symbol, which is located between the point value and the figure number. Legacy for example is a 3-D star. Hypertime (the set of the other Rookie Batman) is a clock dial with motion bars streaking behind it. As for determining which set your Spider-Man came from, that's a daunting task for a rookie such as yourself. There are six different Marvel sets, and every one of them had a Spider-Man in it. Since almost all of the were lame, especially the rookies, it doesn't matter so much.
Each piece has a set symbol next to the point value.
Become intimately familiar with all the sets and all the pieces at the official HeroClix website. This will tell you what each symbol means, what each Team Ability means, keep you up to date on the latest rules, and can give you an idea as to what each figure is all about. This is a fabulous resource.
As you build your collection, I would look to add some Feat cards that fit your team: Trick Shot for the ranged combat experts, auto regeneration for Deadpool and Wolverine, Passenger for Spider-Man, Blink, Cable and Deadpool, Stunning Blow for Vertigo and Calypso, Damage Shield for Batman and others, Armor Piercing for everyone. You can get them on eBay or look in the trading section.
I tried to mix close combat and ranged combat on the teams I provided, as did Diablo4485, I think.

True, but his Rookie Spider-Man can give his team a couple of clicks of Super Strength, which he can't otherwise get unless he uses Hulk. This gives him some options and doesn't concede control of the objects on the field to his opponent.
(Oh, and I forgot to mention, the Pounce card for Spider-Man).
It's best to have a well rounded team, not just ranged attacks. I'd be happy to suggest some of the best ranged figures though. If you want to focus on ranged attacks, then you simply have to acquire a few Trick Shot feat cards. They are in both the Mutant Mayhem and Legacy sets. They turn good ranged attackers into great ones, and great ones into unstopable ones! Beware the Trick Shot!
These are Rookie/Experienced/Veteran figures-
Ultimate Hawkeye
Green Arrow
Arsenal
Green Lantern (Unleashed version featuring Hal Jordan)
Punisher
Scourge
Ultimate Cyclops
Here are some Unique aka Super Rare figures-
U Thor
U Iron Man
U Green Lantern
U Ultraman

These are just a few off the top of my head. There are plenty more. I also only included figures that are tourney legal.
