Ever have one of those weeks...

Last week was, well, weird for me. HCRealms is a pretty good sized part of my life, and I largely wasn't around this past week. It seemed like if I had a spare minute to get online, our servers were down, or something else crazy happened.

Believe it or not, I really missed you guys last week!

Let's see, what's going on. I'm finalizing Team RealmWorx: Philly currently, I'll make an announcement as soon as the team is set. We have some returning members from LA, as well as some notable members joining the fray, should be a great group this time around.

I'm showing no less than 45 records on WizKids site for Fantastic Forces previews. Atlas/Goliath might be one of my favorite sculpts in the game, he looks absolutely perfect, and I'm not really even a big fan of the character either way. Hopefully, the previews will continue to filter out, making their way here. Sadly, I won't be able to provide you with any exclusives this time around, but there is always the Rumor Mill.

Let's talk movies. Batman Begins is heating up preview wise, and looks awesome. The Fantastic Four push has begun with the toys, though I still haven't seen a trailer.

But who am I kidding, frickin' Star Wars comes out this week. BOO-YAH! This one looks truly awesome, and I can't wait. I've conned, er, convinced my wife to get me tickets, me and my bro in law will be catching the midnight showing opening night. After watching Clone Wars three hours straight last night on Cartoon Network and the ending of Episode 1 today, I'm PUMPED for this movie. (George, mess this up, and I'll kill ya and make it look like an accident.) (I keed, I keed. Hey, I have a bettter idea, why don't you start making Episoded VII, IIX, and IX next week?)

Still kinda sore about not scoring a FCBD Batman. Oh well, I know I'll pick one up sooner or later, probably sooner, but still...

...however, the Icons figs look frickin' sweet. I'm confused on the flip-flop from 2 fig boosters to 4, but hey, they didn't ask me, right? This set looks real solid so far, can' wait to see how the distribution really sorts out.

Here's some news on some other games in the genre and/or category...I picked up a Teen Titans CCG starter this week, it's a decent looking game, they visually picked up on the slightly darker tone of the show, but I was surprised the gameplay was not quite as simple as I had hoped. Still, if you or someone you love is a fan of the show, you probably won't be disappointed in the cards. I also picked up some Star Wars Attacktix figs. Admittedly, I wasn't planning on getting any Star Wars toys this time, but I'm pretty sure I'm hardwired for it. Attacktix figs look cool, and the game play is EASY. If there is someone in your life that is a Star Wars fan, but HeroClix level gameplay is a little or even a lot more than they want to tackle, it might be worth it to shell out 10 bucks on the starter for this one as well.

Finally...yesterday (Saturday the 14th) was a very important day in my life, my little girl Emily turned one year old yesterday. My wife and I are continually amazed at how much joy she has brought into our lifes, and I'm amazed at how much my life has changed since she's entered it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY-BEAR!

Short but sweet this week, next week I want to tackle some game theory on opening moves and total range, so unless there are some bombshells in the news, hopefully we can look forward to that next week. Speaking of which, I think I'm moving myself to the weekends to make room for some new feature content during the week, including a column aimed towards the judges. See you next weekend! - Brett

I'm actually interested in your game theory article next week. Those are my favorite kind, when you talk about the way the game is played. I have less interest in most of the other stuff we see here on the Realms.

i don't think i have ever read such optimism in a single post since this one. i'm stoked about the new episode III. i just recently got into star wars minis, so i know alot more about the characters and the who's who and all that stuff. i also purchased the clones wars micro series which is just about the coolest thing i've ever seen in my entire life. i myself had a great week. the ONLY thing that didn't happen was that i didn't get laid...maybe tomarrow or next weekend. i pulled a
R.O.T.S mace windu, C.S. darth maul (at the palm beach [mall] no less) only 2 boosters of clone strike left, and yesterday i pulled a mon mothra. this after a friday the 13th weekend, what are the odds of that?!?!? every thing went so well this weekend. and on top of that i won the tournament this weekend!! and last but not least happy birthday to your daughter Emily, best wishes.

I am gonna see the 3AM Star Wars on the DLP Screen in Times Square....should be more than ridiculous. I am stoked, this is the chapter everyone has been waiting for, so hopefully the whining and moaning about the first two will subside. I actually enjoyed them both..*Ducks and dodges R2D2 mug*..I have two younger siblings and their joy in usually my joy.

I am completely stoked about ICONS and am loving the fact that we will get new and remade characters in the new Starter instead of the Same Sculpt/Same Stats that we got (w/exception of the Starter) in Universe.

Hey what a coincidence. Yestrerday (5/14) was my son's birthday...but he's 15 years your daughter's elder.

Actually May begins a heavy series of birthday filled months involving my 5 younglings. 3 May, 1 in June, 1 in July right after mine.

Speaking of Team Realmworx, will there be any sort of presence at Origins this year?

I was wondering what had happened to you Brett....

For Star Wars...I am waiting until after the weekend to see it....all you fanboys out there, I love ya, but when I see a movie, I don't like Lightsabers swinging in my face. That happened at the last two when i saw them on the first day....I like to watch my movies at the theatre sans-distractions. Of course, not all you fanboys get dressed up in jedi gear and go around having mock lightsaber duels...just some of you crazy ones.
