When we created Marvel HeroClix: Fantastic Forces, we decided to try something new. Many of you indicated in surveys and feedback to us that you didn’t always feel the paint jobs on your HeroClix figures were up to your expectations. Therefore, with Fantastic Forces, we experimented with using a different factory, and the results are incredible: HeroClix figures have never looked better!
That being said, there are always a few bumps in the road when dealing with a new vendor. One of those bumps was that the Super-Rare figures in booster packs wound up being identical to the Limited Edition figures used in Approved Play events. Rather than the gold lettering and ring that Super-Rares have sported in the past, these figures have regular lettering and a bronze ring, and are identical to LEs in every other way.
We understand how important awesome Approved Play prizes are to HeroClix players and retailers alike, so to make it up to our players, we’re going to offer a special, 12-week-only giveaway. Who better to accompany the Fantastic Four than their greatest opponent: Galactus himself! For these 12 weeks, 15 players each week will receive a free Galactus figure!
If you are a first-place or Fellowship winner in a WizKids-supported HeroClix event between July 22nd and October 13th your name will automatically be entered into a drawing for a Galactus figure. Each week for that 12-week period, 15 of those winning players will receive a Galactus from WizKids, free of charge!
The names of the winners will be posted on the WizKids website. Only those players registered in the WizKids Approved Play system and whose contact information is up-to-date will be eligible to win.
Complete details regarding this promotion will be posted on the HeroClix website soon.
Beginning with DC HeroClix: Icons, Super-Rare figures will no longer be available in boosters (or, for that matter, at all). Limited Edition figures will still be available as prizes at all WizKids-supported HeroClix events.
No, this is not the major announcement due to occur on July 7th.
Well, I personally never cared for the "super-rares" anyway, so I won't miss those taking up space...and the Galactus give-a-ways sound like a great way to reward players (albeit, not in a perfect way, as I have been the 1st place finisher simply by "showing up"- no other players.)
Well now with 180 more galactus' out there Im sure the secondary market price will drop so that everyone now has a better chance getting the big G....this is a good move for wizkids
now lets just do this fo Dark Phoenix....cause I REALLY WANT HER and her price is still tooo high on the secondary market

While I think this is an AWESOME Move for Wizkids....The Secondary Market will hardly feel a bump from this....
Darn it...we only got SRs for the sets with the lamest LEs.... I really thought it was a nice ideafor all those people who didn't win tourneys much, or worse, could never go to them due to distance or time. Quite dissappointed that all the whiners won out on this one.
And even though I'm a Judge, I hardly ever receive any Envoy Rewards myself, so I thought I actually had a chance to get the cool LEs thanks to SRs. *sigh*
