i am a little confused about adjacency rules and giant figures.
the way i see it, adjacency occurs up to 2 squares from the GF (giant fig) and would be adjacent to an opposing fig for movement and close combat, the opposing fig is adjancent for movement purposes only, therefore, the GF can make close combat attacks, but the enemy cannot. (DO I GET IT SO FAR?)
so, what about power actions such as poison? would an enemy have to be base to base to use poison? the rules say adjacent and its not a close combat action, so im looking for some clarification.
how would ranged combat fit in to these adjacency issues?

thanks for the help.
There are two situations here, depending on who has Poison.
Example 1 - Regular size figure has Poison:
x P x G
In this example, a regular sized figure has Poison and is considered adjacent to the GF for movement purposes only. Poison would not affect the GF because the figure with Poison must be adjacent to the opposing figure. P is not adjacent to G
Example 2 - Giant figure has Poison
x O x G
In this example, opposing figure O WOULD be poisoned by giant figure G since G is considered adjacent to O for close combat purposes.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.

So far so good.

The fig with Poison is not adjacent to the Giant fig unless it is in a square next to a Giant fig (not two squares away).

A fig could make a ranged combat attack against a Giant fig two squares away.

If there is a giant figure on the rooftop, and one square away from the edge:
XXXXXXX
------XXX
XXX|XXX
XGX|AXX G = Giant Figure
XXX|XXX A = Arbitraty Grounded Fig
------XXX
XXXXXXX
I understand that the giant fig can close combat attack the grounded figure, but are they adjacent for movement purposes? What I mean is, does the grounded figure need to break away to move?
I'm assuming that the answer would be the same if those characters swapped places.
While we're dealing with hypotheticals, if my Awesome Andy is two squares away from my LE Invisible Woman, does her defend work on Awesome Android? (Same with the Defenders and Justice Society of America team abilities.) Thanks

In your example, a Giant Figure could not make an attack against A since no part of the G-figure is grounded. Therefore, the Giant Figure could freely move until he became Grounded and was within 2 spaces of A.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

From the Mutant Mayhem Rules Insert (also in Legacy): Giant characters can attack and be attacked by chatacters that are grounded, on elevated terrain, or soaring.
He's adjacent two squares away for movement and close combat purposes, so I'm pretty sure that he can attack. My question is: even as a giant fig, is he not adjacent to the normal fig for movement purposes?
We had this very situation come up this past weekend, and instead of arguing through the confusion I just moved the giant figure elsewhere.

No, all instances like this, whether it's Hydra/PD/JSA/Defenders, etc. the figure has to be adjacent (the square next to the Giant fig) to the Giant figure.

I would say no, due to being on two different elevations.
Even in light of what Bladej quoted from the rules in his post?

An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
"Giant characters can attack and be attacked by characters that are grounded, on elevated terrain, or soaring."
If he's on a different elevation, the grounded figures with no range are not going to be able to attack him. If he's two or even three squares back from the roof edge, figures with range and figures that are soaring can still attack him, just as he can still attack them if he's got the range. The insert definitely needs some clarification for instances like this and I could possibly be misinterpretting this.
Maybe hair can chime in on it.

As much as I don't like the ruling, Gacy has stated it correctly. It seems to counter previous rulings about the big figures, but giant figures aren't big figures... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
