I was wondering if items were affected by the rule of three. Say a character has super strength and close combat expert. They used a heavy object and close combat expert. Would they effectively deal 4 extra damage? Or would it be just 3?
Also if super strength says you may not shut it off if the character is holding an object, and that you can chose whether or not to pick an object up in the first place... Whats the point of being an optional power? They only time you can choose to turn the power off is when you arn't carrying anything... but then whats the point?
First off, CCE cannot be used when using an object as a weapon (it says so right on the PAC), the two aren't compatible.
As far as the Rule of 3? No, it doesn't apply to objects, just to things that modify damage value(CCE, Perplex, various feats, etc). Since objects add to damage dealt and not damage value, they are not restricted by the Rule of 3. Effectively you could take a SStr fig with a printed damage of 3, use Perplex to max it to a 6dmg under the Rule of 3, then use a heavy object token to deal an additional 2dmg for 8 total.
As far as not being able to cancel SStr while carrying an object, I think it's kind of a foolish rule... perhaps they didn't want SStr figs to be dropping tokens here and there for mobile hindering bonuses or Stealth protection... not really sure.
Imagine if you could : Rip it up, a SS char and a TK'er = unlimited ammo
If you're very successful in rolling breakaway for a Charge/SStr fig so it can actually pick up the objects? Absolutely. (Better keep that Prob.Control handy just in case, though.)
