A number of different questions for a couple of newbies
Hey guys. My friends and I are very new to this game, and one of my friends got into an argument with me over a number of different problems. So, perhaps you guys could help clear some of this up.
On the map that comes in the DC Hypertime Starter Set, there are several trucks scattered about. Are these trucks considered elevated terrain or hindering terrain? I said they were elevated. Also, since there are no blocking lines there, does that mean that they can be shot past with a ranged attack?
Also, with Outwit - this same guy insisted that he didn't have to roll to use it on me. The question came up with his experienced Flash trying to use it on some other guy. We had both the Marvel and DC rules right there, and even though the Marvel rules said blatantly that you have to roll for Outwit, he said that since it was the Flash and the DC rules don't say quite as blatantly that you have to roll for it, that he didn't have to roll.
2. Outwit does not require a roll to use. It is a free action that requires Line of Fire to be drawn to the target to use.
To further clarify this point (which is 100% correct), under normal conditions you *never* havet to roll for Outwit to work. Doesn't matter if it is DC, Marvel, or Indy. The only special situations I can think of where you would need to roll is when playing the Galactus Scenario or using the White Noise BFC.
Incidently, it doesn't matter if you are playing Spider-man and your friend is playing Flash; all heroclix use the exact same rules sets. That's why they are *all* called heroclix. So what works for Spider-man, will work for Flash and vice-versa.
