New Guy Night is a new program launching this October designed to reward existing HeroClix players for bringing new players into HeroClix.
This New Guy Night launches the exclusive WizKids Superhero Training Program, with special events for new heroes (and sidekicks) with every HeroClix release, including exclusive FREE figures!
When you bring a friend to your local game store and teach him or her how to play HeroClix, you and your friend both receive a FREE exclusive Limited Edition figure from Armor Wars.
These figures will not be available anywhere else!
To celebrate the launch of this program, the Armor Wars New Guys will also receive a Marvel HeroClix Universe Starter Set FREE.
The evening is geared toward casual learning and fun.
On a personal level I am very excited for october and really want to get a chance to play some more. I don't think I have been this excited about clix since X-plosion.
My wife always wants me to start with something positive...
Indy Prizes are GREAT!!!
Now that thats over with...
I looked at alot of the other games WK makes (as I run more than clix events)
and between Mechwarrior, Mage Knight and Pirates, only Mechwarrior has prizes
listed for one storyline event. Everything else is To Be Announced.
Now I hate to start a second nasty disscussion in a week, but this just annoys
me. And not only as a judge, who wants to make sure I get the event schedualed
with the DC Prizes, but as a player who wants to know what my weekends will
look like in October!
Is it too hard to have events and prizes ready to go 2 months in advance? If
there is a problem finding time to get things organized on a set schedual, then
stop making so much product so fast!
Sorry, I'm venting. I really wish that stranger that's in my house hadn't brought
up his views of Hary Potter...
Some of this post might be worthy of consideration. No Guarentees.

Go Forward.
Complaining never brought a smile to anyone's face.
Indy LEs... WOW! I did not expect this, and I'm so glad I can get these pieces WITHOUT buying a PC game I have no interest in. Very cool move, Wizkids. Very cool indeed!
Also, I like that Kurt Wagner is finally available as a prize, though I already have him. I was starting to wonder if he would be offered. More DC prizes to play for is another great thing. I also feel that one of the tournament sets will be the arch-enemies K'oriander and K'omander. That would be a wonderful touch!
What I don't like...
Cain Marko is obviously NOT an error. Marquee prizes are in the regular rotation. As if being able to pull these in boosters wasn't enough. Marquee events are really starting to lose that special something. Of course, it IS only Reed Richards. And Cain is being offered with possibly the most sought after LE (Sue Storm). This leaves the choice difficult for some, and easy for others. Still, not a cool move. This just takes the Invitational Qualifier and makes it even worse (As Marquee prizes were given away at some of those, too).
What has high potential to be good but can easily go bad...
Ad naseum compliment of New Guy Night. Executed properly, this could really help out the tournament environment, which in turn will help out the game. A refreshing idea from Wizkids that I truly hope pays off for them. Also, a new resurgence in independant based companies (City of Villains) might help add more variety to the game and let in another group of gamers. Both New Guy Night and new Indy developements can only be a positive thing, I'm thinking.
So in total, I am excited to see Indy LEs being offered as tournament prizes. I am not happy to see Marquee prizes repeated. I am also taken aback by a limited amount of prize support for each set (8 LEs for Fantastic Forces; 6 LEs for Icons).
{ Why can't WhizKids announce the Prizes? With IQ Gamer releasing all the Photos, we know what the whole Set is }
CITY OF VILLIANS TOURNAMENT Unrestricted Event
PRIZES TBD
{ It's a Great Idea to have the new COH/COV Figs as Prizes,
September has Statesman and Positron as Prizes,
I wonder what will be given away in October?
Ghost Widow and Captain Mako I hope,
those are the two I am most Stoked about }
NEW GUY TOURNAMENT-Casual Play

New Guy Night is a good idea for all parties involved.
Kudos to WhizKids.
But what is the Exclusive Free Figure ?
Why the Secrecy?
If WhizKids is going to make an announcement,
make the full announcement.
Anybody know what it is going to be?
(Ironman I think)
I like upwrapping presents at Christmas and being surprised. I enjoy waking up, not knowing what's gonna be in my birthday gift later that day. (I also read the card and save it for later.)
Personally, I like the TBA aspect of prize support. Personally, I'm not fond of getting all the stats for a peice before it hits the streets. I understand some people like it. That's cool.
And before you say I can be surprised by just avoiding the gallery, they show up everywhere. I'm the local Clix guy, so I'm expected to know this stuff.
Wow.....maybe I can actually learn to play the game instead of just collect!!!
Now all i have to do is find someone to teach me..............
I'll second that! Been collecting Marvel since IC, but so far have only attended one demo over a year ago. Universe Starter Pack AND an exclusive LE are mighty strong incentives. I figure I'll just email my local retailer to find a trainer...
