I just noticed: the text for Haymaker only requires you to give a character a close-combat action. Since the trigger for BCF is said close-combat action, you should be able to combine the two? Is this right?

If so, FF Wolverine just got a lot nastier.
Unfortunately, no. I at first thought this might work (and was really looking forward to playing Terrax with it), but it has been ruled not to work for the following reason: The Haymaker is a Close Combat Action. Upon beginning that Close Combat Action, +2 is added to the Damage and -1 is added to the AV. Then, in the midst of the Close Combat Action, your Close Combat Attack occurs. In this case, the Close Combat Attack would be BCF. Assuming the attack was successful, BCF would the cause a die to be rolled and this rolled die would replace the current (and +2 modified) Damage Value. Your Damage Value is now whatever number shows on the die, completely unaffected by the Haymaker.
Essentially, for your trouble you get a normal BCF roll with -1 penalty to hit and a push damage click for your trouble.
Ah, drat. I was under the assumption that modifiers were added after the replacement value went through.
That is the mantra for normal circumstances, but the text of BCF is clear that the roll comes after the attack roll, so the Haymaker mods are already locked in.
Feel free to Haymaker away though if you need to take a click of push damage...like maybe getting E Taskmaster onto his Enhancement click or something...
