Avengers Mansion. Late Wednesday night. Spider-Woman is in the shower. Her mind is focused on one thing: monitor duty. She hates it. So focused is she that she is caught off guard by a noise in the room outside the shower.
"Ahem!" is all that is said, the sound of a clearing throat.
Quickly Jessica Drew shifts gears, jumping out of the shower, grabbing for a towel and cursing that she'd forgotten she had used it already for her workout in the other room and had not replaced it. Damn.
"Who is it?" she asks.
"Spider-Woman?" the voice says.
"I asked who is it not who am I?" she replies angrily. Outside the door she sees a white reflection. She again curses that her gun in outside the bathroom, she grabs a plunger, the only thing handy to her and pounces.
She thrashes at the stranger who is taken aback but manages to block her hits with his arms. He seems totally dressed in white but she can't be sure, the darkness makes it hard to be sure.
"A plunger? Now that is a new weapon of choice," he says.
She lunges past him for her gun. "Then let's try this one," she says, "Get up!".
The man stands up to reveal himself.
"Moon Knight?".
"In the costume hidden flesh."
"What are you doing attacking me? How did you get in here? How did you know who I am?" she asks already piecing together bits of it as she inquires.
"Where are the Avengers?" he asks.
"Buddy, in my world, we answer the person holding the gun."
"I wasn't attacking you, I needed to be sure the Avengers Mansion was safe. Being a former member has priveleges, like being able to get into the spanking new digs with little interference."
He continues, "By the way, costumes on the chair in the living room. That's how I knew it was you. Me, and anyone with a telescope able to check out 110th floor Manhattan apartments. Want me to get it?".
"Stay put, Moon Knight and turn around, " she says, inching her way to her costume, "So why are you here?".
"Long story...I'm ..psychically sensitive...and over the last few days I've gotten dreams. First involved Ultron and Spider-Man and the Justice Society. Wrote it off until I read about their battle last night. This morning I woke up with more dreams. Vivid ones. Batman fought a vampire last night. Wasp and Yellowjacket, too. Something's not right with the moon."
"Excuse me? I never knew of you to be a 'sensitive' as you say. And I'm pretty well read on former Avengers. Pushed, I could even recite to you the number of tantrums Quicksilver has had in the old Mansion."
Moon Knight sighs, "I am ...in touch...with an Egyptian God of the night, Khonshu. Something is off. Science, magic, mind control, I don't know why for sure. I only know that Batman and Spider-Man will be tested severely over the next few nights. And in the end, they...and others...will face Galactus."
"Galactus? This is far out of his method of operation. Using operatives?".
"I don't know the answers. I only know the moon is not right. Galactus is either in control of a grand scheme or manipulated by the scheme itself. Whatever, Batman will need the Avengers help tonight."
Spider-Woman zips up her outfit, "Then the Avengers he will have. Let's go."
"Ummmmm....I was thinking of Thor. The Vision. Scarlet Witch. Those Avengers."
"Wow, you haven't been reading the papers, have you?" Spider-Woman replies.

You'll pardon me if this team's a bit cheesy, but once the idea came to me, it really stuck as something I'm surprised I've never seen done. Deathstroke and Taskmaster really seem to be cross-universe counterparts, at least in the game if not quite in comics. I suppose the fact that there's no TA for Taskmaster to mimic might have something to do with it, but even so, they make a wicked pair. And then using Ravager with Deathstroke is just straightforward.
"I have my doubts," Taskmaster said. "She doesn't seem quite stable."
"She will be fine," Deathstroke said firmly. "You have my word on it."
"Ah, your word," Taskmaster smiled. "Honor among thieves."
"I don't know about 'among thieves' but I have a reputation," Deathstroke defended himself. "In my line of work, if you go back on your word, you quickly find yourself without commissions."
"And speaking of commissions, I find this one a bit odd. The two of us? To take down Moon Knight? I mean we're not talking about Captain America here. I'd say either one of us is more than up to the task."
Deathstroke shrugged and popped the bottle of Dom Perignon. He poured two glasses and handed one to Taskmaster. "I'm used to working alone myself. Until I recruited Rose as my protege, I generally worked solo. I'm as puzzled about it as you, but I'm for hire. If they pay me well enough, then I'll work with whomever they tell me to work. And they are paying me very well."
"True enough," Taskmaster agreed. He raised his glass "So...to our new partnership."
Deathstroke touched his glass to Taskmaster's and they drank to the future.
After reaching Batman and attempting to explain Moon Knights' dreams the trio of heroes receive an alert that Deathstroke, Ravager and Taskmaster are nearby.
"See, Batman? This is just like Moon Knight said," Spider-Woman says trying to be impressive, "Maybe we should split up to cover more ground?".
Batman is already moving as she suggests that. He can only offer a sarcastic, "Good idea."
Batman reaches a large tractor he hides in. He looks over and sees Moon Knight doing the same in the tractor next to him.
"Man in black meets man in white. Interesting," Moon Knight says.
"Not really," Batman replies.
"No, I didn't think so either," the Avenger replies.
Wow, I hate to keep using Avengers but that 100 point Iron Man looks su-weet. Say, since we're doing an Avengers/JLA megafest what do you say for the next of the "My Teams Better" round, we switch automatically (You'll get Avengers, me JLA). Just a thought.
That works. It'll be interesting to play the Avengers for a change. Going to be fun coming up with a line-up for that one. It'll probably depend on who I'm playing against.
And yeah, I looked at Iron-Man's dial and thought, wow, I'd rather have this guy on my team than the 189 point vet.
Okay, Taskmaster to H8
Ravager to H11
V Taskmaster @ H8 (stealth)
V Deathstroke B10
V Ravager (w/Pounce) @ H11 (stealth)
"We shouldn't have too much trouble," Deathstroke said. "Batman's good, but either of us should be able to handle him. Together, we should be able to take care of him easily."
"Can I do it, Daddy?" Ravager asked.
"No," Deathstroke said. "Under no circumstances are you to try to take on Batman by yourself. You aren't ready."
Ravager went into a sulk. "Am too," she said quietly.
Deathstroke heard her, but chose to ignore the comment. Let her try. If she was ever going to reach her potential, she would need to push herself to her limits, and fighting Batman would do that.
