Just want to confirm/deny the potential for some possible power/ability/card combos that I've been toying with or that could come up in a game. (ie. this power works with this card, etc)
1. Darkness Within + Flurry: Character A subtracts a click of life so that Character B can attack twice with an increased damage of +1?
2. Slippery + Shakeoff: roll anything but a 1 to inflict 1 damage everytime you break away?
3. Swingline + Charge: Move attack through hindering terrain?
Just want to confirm/deny the potential for some possible power/ability/card combos that I've been toying with or that could come up in a game. (ie. this power works with this card, etc)
1. Darkness Within + Flurry: Character A subtracts a click of life so that Character B can attack twice with an increased damage of +1? Unfortunately, no. The two Flurry attacks are resolved separately, so the +1 would disappear after that 1st Flurry attack resolved.
2. Slippery + Shakeoff: roll anything but a 1 to inflict 1 damage everytime you break away? Well, since there are no Giants or Transporters that have 17+def, CReflexes, or Defend, it's kind of a moot question. However, if a Giant or Transporter that meets one or more of Slippery's prereqs is made in the future, yes, they would work together fine (since you'd still be making an actual roll to Break Away).
3. Swingline + Charge: Move attack through hindering terrain? Just like Unstoppable, the part about ignoring Hindering applies to any time the character moves, not just when performing the other benefits of the feat.
4. Swingline + Stunning Blow: Damage, Incapacitate & Earthbound enemy? As long as it's a ranged attack and the target has no damage reducing powers, yup.
5. Swingline + Trickshot: Earthbound an enemy with stealth or through hindering terrain and other characters? Correct.
6. Swingline + Taunt: Earthbound an enemy and force them to attack back? Or move closer to the 'Taunter', yes. {Kind of a waste of 25pts, but yes. }
7. Swingline + Fastball Special: Too funny.
#7, though I know it's a joke, presents an interesting question if the target is Soaring (which would be the most desirable time to give it Earthbound, of course). Yes, the 'thrower' makes a Ranged Combat Attack against the Soarer, so that part qualifies... but the grounded 'throwee' cannot be placed adjacent to a Soaring target... so I'd have to say, against a Soaring target, you can't use FSpecial at all, ruining the Swingline. Against a Hovering target, it would be fine... but there's not a whole lot of benefit to giving a Hoverer Earthbound anyway (especially with the waste of pts we know as FSpecial ).

Good question. DarkW/in states the character only gets the +1 DV for "that attack", but not necessarily for an entire action. Flurry is two separate attacks.
