“Unleashed”

“Yes folks, you’re seeing it here! I wouldn’t believe it If I wasn’t seeing it myself. The Man of Steel has snapped. He’s unleashed himself on coast city in an orgy of destruction!” The reporter continued trying to follow the story, despite the carnage in the streets. Cars are flung into buildings, tanks flipped like pancakes, and hysteria spreading like a virus. People everywhere run for their lives, screaming and crying in fear, and from above a streak of blue flies full-speed into the ground. The resulting shockwave shattered the glass in every building for 6 city blocks.

Superman rose from the massive crater in his wake and stared down the group of soldiers holding their ground behind their wrecked and smashed artillery. The Kryptonian leaned back with a deep breath, and blew out with enough power to send the soldiers flying backward into the air.

On a nearby rooftop, the Justice League appeared in a flash of light as the Watchtower teleporter did its work. Booster Gold and Green Arrow were already there, and wasted no time rushing to their teammates.

“The h*ll took you so long?” Green Arrow asked. He looked badly shaken, his had lost, his suit smudged with blackened ash. Most of his arrows were gone, and his good humor seemed to have gone with it. “The alien’s gone nuts and you guys are chumming around in New York?”

“We came as soon as we could, Green Arrow,” Wonder Woman said, stern but soft. She understood his anger, but would not allow it to be focused her way.

“What’s going on? Flash said baffled.

“Superman…” Booster said, out of breath. “He’s – he’s gone crazy. I mean – I mean, he’s gone absolutely crazy.”

“Remember that power-mad facist we met in the future? The one Superman became?” Green Arrow yelled, pointing at Flash before pulling him to the edge of the roof. “It may start here, guys.” Flash covered his mouth as he watched Superman in the distance. He was floating over the ground at the center of a crater, surrounded by rubble that used to be buildings. Military jets flew in overhead, and with focused flashes of his heat-vision, Superman reduced them to flying molten scrap.

“My…God…” Flash said, shaking his head.

“Do you think – do you think we can stop him?” Booster Gold whispered, honestly terrified for once in his life.

“We must,” Wonder Woman said simply. “The Titans are too inexperienced, and the Justice Society must follow their own path, for now. If Black Adam were here…the distruction left by their battle could be worse than even this.”

“We‘re alone on this one,” Green Arrow said, his face set in grim determination.

“You’re not alone,” came a voice from behind them. They turned around to see Supergirl floating behind them. Her red cape drifted in the breeze, and the light filtering behind her made her look angelic. Booster momentarily forgot their crisis, just watching this vision in blue land on the roof. Supergirl looked off at Superman wreaking destruction in the distance. “I don’t know what’s gotten into Kal, but I want to talk to him first.”

“No talk, girlie,” Green Arrow squinted. “He’s psychotic and we’re putting him down.”

“He’s my cousin, Arrow,” she said, spinning to face the archer. “But if he won’t listen…we’ll have to take him down.”

“It is good you are with us,” Wonder Woman said, placing a hand on Kara’s shoulder. “Let us end this madness.”

A cell phone rings on a wooden table and a woman answers.

“… Yes sir, all is in place. This disturbance is more vast than we were led to believe… We will get revenge for you sir… With all of the cameras around watching Superman reveal himself, we shall show the people your truth when Kobra destroys the Justice League… It will be done.”

The phone is turned off and dropped on back on the table. The woman walks out of the darkness and the feline form of the Cheetah is revealed.

Scenario Notes:

 Superman isn’t making much sense and is just destroying everything coldly and calculatingly, he won’t reply to any talking to him.

Scenario Objectives:

 Superman can not be captured

 1 TXP bonus is gained if Supergirl makes the first attack on Superman (And an appropriate story post is written )

 The Street-Level Criminals shouldn’t target the JLA and instead attack the bystanders. Strike Force Hydra operatives shouldn’t attack the bystanders they are focused on the JLA. Superman can target whoever he pleases.

 You don’t need to break away from bystanders nor stop when in base to base contact with them.

 The Kobra villains are most interested in KOing JLA members to shame them on camera and help their leader.

 The JLA in addition to their regular moves will have 2 special move actions to move pogs.

 Any Pog that leaves the map on the side of the field the JLA came in from gains the team an additional 1 TXP, any pog KOED costs the JLA 1 TXP.

This one looks like a blast!

Place objects first, then we start!

Init: 4 & 3 for 7.
Objects: 3 & 3 for 6. (knockback!)!

I'll setup in about 4 hrs.

Setup was preset for the map.

I was referring to object tokens but I didn't realise this was a Cabal City map. I should have looked closer before I leapt - my puny laptop can't handle these maps. They don't load at all!!

I'm afraid somebody else is going to have to step up to the plate here.

Sorry for delaying your game, Lightshear!

"Superman is dangerous, but our duty is to the people," Wonder Woman said. "Flash and I will guard them - Kara, you go with Green Arrow and the others to hold off Superman."

"Got it, Wonder Woman," Supergirl nodded. "Come on, Dr. Palmer!" Atom shrank down and she cupped him in her hands as she took off in flight. Booster smiled and flew after her.

"You aren't leading the charge this time?" Green Arrow asked the usually gung-ho Booster.

"Sometimes it's better to scout the view from behind," Booster said, grinning ear to ear and keeping close distance behind the short-skirted Supergirl.

"Kal," Supergirl said, pleading with her cousin as he hovered forward, emotionlessly ripping a large chunk of debris from the ground as he moved. "Kal, please - what's happening? What's wrong with-"

She was cut off as Superman narrowed his eyes and fired a tight beam of heat-vision straight at her. She dodged to the side, but it still burned a bleeding ridge into her cheek. It could have killed her if she hadn't moved. He was willing to kill her. The thought sunk in hard for the girl of steel, and she reacted in the only way she knew how.

"Alright, Blue - if this is how it has to be, then I'll wake you up the hard way." Tearing a streetlight from the ground, she hefted it like a baseball bat and swung hard, cracking Superman across the head. The pole hit with a resounding clang that rang through the eerily silent streets, and for a long second nothing happened. His head had turned in an unnatural angle, but he slowly turned it back, his eyes squinting, face emotionless.

He lifted his rock in the air and began to bring it down, but was stopped by a pair of arrows striking his ribcage. Their heads burst into strands of a string-like polimer which wrapped and spread around him like a ball of rubber-bands, holding him just for the moment.

"That bought us a second," Green Arrow said, drawing another arrow from his quiver. "But it won't do cr@p if we can't follow up with something big..."

Across the block, Wonder Woman watched the forces of Kobra, led by the Cheetah, stalk forward, clearly intending to capitolize on the chaos in the city streets.

"Flash - take the fanatics. I will deal with Cheetah."

"On it, Wonder Woman," Flash said. He outraced the sound of his own voice, and by the time she heard his response, he had already clocked one cultist and used the sonic-boom in his wake to stun them both. Diana used the opportunity to charge forward, lifting a car like one would lift a folding chair, and tearing into Cheetah.

The force of the strike staggered the feline felon, but she held her ground. The two warrior women glared daggers at each other, and Flash was glad he had no part of that fight.

Turn 2 (Player 1)

Free) Atom perps Supergirl's damage +1

1) (taking a chance) Supergirl rolls for breakaway, and gets it with a 5; uses charge to yoink the HO from I11 and attack Superman; rolls a 9 (5,4) for an 18/hit...Imp roll is a 3, so Supes takes 4 clicks after reduction.

2) GA tries an Incap attack; rolls a 6 (3,3) for a 16/hit, so Supes is pushed for a click.

3) Wonder Woman charges to Q13 after swinging by S12 for the HO and attacks Cheetah; rolls an 8 (6,2) for a 17/hit and 4 clicks.

Free) Flash HSS's to Q15 and attacks Fanatic #1; rolls a 5 (1,4) for a 15/hit and 1 click. He finishes his move where he started.

Free) Flash outwits Fanatic #2's charge.
