Welcome to this weeks edition of THIS WEEKS COMICS for October 5th, 2005. October begins a month of some very good reads, so for those going to travel to pre-release events there is reading material available for you.

ROCK’s MUST READ COMICS of the WEEK

1) Marvel Team up #13

The Titannus War comes to an abrupt and violent end. All questions are answered and all plot threads are resolved. 2) New Thunderbolts #13

Then, in the second story, a teenage Bobby Drake uses the Danger Room to hone his skills at…getting girls? A true X-Men tale for the ages, not to be missed

4) BATMAN: GOTHAM COUNTY LINE #1 (OF 3)

Acclaimed writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) joins distinctive painter Scott Hampton (BATMAN: NIGHT CRIES) for a 3-issue Prestige Format miniseries that uncovers the investigation of grisly murders outside Batman's usual territory…in the Gotham suburbs! Commissioner Gordon calls on the Dark Knight for help in solving the mystery, although Batman has never delved into the suburbs of Gotham before. But the series of murders is so shocking that Batman must respond, despite being in unfamiliar territory!

5) Gotham Central #36

The conclusion of the "Dead Robin" storyline! The cops have a dead kid in a Robin outfit, and the evidence is pointing inescapably toward Batman. But how can they catch the Dark Knight? Plus, the leak within the GCPD is revealed!

6) Outsiders #29

A Day of Vengeance tie-in! The Fearsome Five return to settle the score with the Outsiders, boasting a new recruit of unbelievable power — and the crisis rocking the magic realms raises the stakes to an unimaginable level!

7) INVINCIBLE VOL 1 ULTIMATE COLL

If you have missed a single issue of INVINCIBLE, now is the time to catch up. Truly a masterpiece and a must have for the true comic collector.

8) X-MEN COMPLETE AGE OF APOCALYPSE EPIC BOOK

Do I need to even explain why you need to get this book? Go get it already!!!

Going through the titles for this week I saw there are a ton of good reads coming out. This is really going to come down to whom do you like the most. Batman seems to be pumping out some good work, and I have never seen a bad issue of the Outsiders (truly a comic to pick up in trade paper back if you have a chance). Marvel is still reeling from the House of M saga, which really was a series that you absolutely loved or wanted nothing to do with. With quite a few story lines revolving around House of M, I felt it best to pick a few comics that either have nothing to do with house of M, or really make you want to scream out for more. I always like team ups and this one seems to be turning out to be a decent title. Finally, go out and pick a copy of Invincible you will thank me later for that one. Invincible really shines and is one of Images top books. It is not complicated and has a great story line that makes readers clamor for more.
