If, instead of using his Charge, Black Knight uses the move and attack ability he has from being a Transporter to move in and make a close combat attack on an opposing figure, is he then stuck in base-to-base contact with that opposing figure or is he then able to finish his movement and move away in a manner similar to Hypersonic speed?
Thank you for your time.

He can move away again. Thus, this sort of attack is known as "HSS-lite". The one drawback is the -2 to hit. And the fact that he can't initiate this action if he was adjacent to an enemy to start. Okay, the two drawbacks are...
it's wonderful to use his move and attack to break out walls and drop shooters on the other side. also, the reason he can keep moving is because he is a flyer... i believe if ghost rider does the same with a close combat attack then he would have to stop for adjacency... not positive on that one though.

Nope. Like Simon said, Transporter Move and Attack is basically a watered down version of HSS option 1. And just like Flash doesn't have to stop when he bases a figure, neither does GR or Lockjaw.
He doesn't have to stop for adjacency. Thus, there's an unusual loophole in the rules to be aware of. If Lockjaw has Double Time, and wants to move 24 squares, he can't use Phasing (because that's a power action, and Double Time's a move action). However, he can still run past people. How? Answer: he can do the transporter move and attack as his move action. Since this is a move action, he can use double time. However, Double Time says he can't attack during this movement. So, the end result is that he can do a double time "move and attack" as long as he doesn't attack anybody. So, it's a "move and attack" without the attack, which sounds silly, but is legal.
